Great videos guys, i managed to get the sump out, drop down the diff and rack, take the engine mount nuts off and raise the engine from above, sump just slides out of the back ( that was a 3.2 with chain, changing the oil pump ) not sure if it’s the same on this engine
Wish I lived a tiny bit nearer because I would have absolutely no problem bringing my car to you guys. Seriously impressed after watching your recent vids. Hope the channel grows nicely 👍
Fantastic video very detailed, doing mine next week I did see a video on youtube where they unbolted part of the subframe i think it was and the diff and rack dropped just enoigh away from the sump
Great job as always. My own personal tip of the day for you would be to place a large bit of cardboard over that large radiator matrix just a a precaution of dinking it with tools. It looks expensive 😀. Keep up the good work.
Grab a few aerosol tins of Autosmart Gel Sol pal. It’s for removing chewing gum and stickers. It would work a treat on the sticky labels on the inside of the new sumps.
Truly this has to be the stupidest system for moving cams and oil pumps. Good quality chain system and regular oil changes and you may never have to change it - ever. Even a normal dry cam belt even if you have to do it every 100,000 Km, is usually easier to access than that. Having said that you guys did a good job of it!
Don’t you replace the engine oil and filter after doing a forced regen? Won’t it be diluted? I know ford use a vapouriser but they also use post injection to bring temps up so there will still be fuel entering the oil no?
Using wet belts is just about the dumbest design option imaginable. It combines almost all of disadvantages of dry belts, along with those of chain drives and adds some of its own. The wet belts, if anything, have a shorter life than conventional "dry" belts and replacing them has all the labour costs of replacing a failed chain. Personally, and I know it's unfashionable, I approve of conventional belts. Yes, you have to schedule in replacements, but you can budget for it and it's a lot simpler process than having to pull off and reseal timing covers, sumps and so on. If timing chains were good for the life of an engine, they I'd go with that, but too many are prone to failures, often without warning (unless you are skilled) and is expensive to fix, at best. At worst, it involved catastrophic damage. But in any event, I would never have a "wet belt" engine.
I found marking them gear to gear is not good enough the gear can move slightly and u can tell exactly were it was as if you mark gear to block more accurate
Is this applicable to these New Gen Ford Rangers (Wetbelt) I think they also share same engine with VW Amarok and they also made/assembled here in South Africa
No it's not, but neither is a "wet belt" design. As someone said below, all the disadvantages of dry belts and chains and none of the advantages of either!
what an absolute shit design by ford that you have to remove all that for service items like a timing belt. Who ever designs these vehicles are the worst of the worst in the motor trade. Customers moan at the hourly rate , or think its a couple hours work, after seeing a youtube video. They have zero clue. The motor trade wages are shocking bad in this country , and this proves why techs should be earning min basic rate of 40k plus.
I'm not sure how I came across this video, but glad I did. Very professionally done and the filming and editing is bang on too.
Thumbs up.
We done a ranger 2019 done 150,000 and the belt looked good!! Had 6 month oil changes using the correct oil
I wish all Mechanics are as thoroughly as u r great job were r u base cheers
Thank you! We are in Huntingdon PE29 6EB 😊👍
@thecareditionltd thank you 👍👍
Try the hot air gun gently on the stickers. Should peel right off without scraping 👍

Another great video. I have no idea how you remember where everything goes when you finish.
its the nuts and screws and bolts , how the hell do you manage to put them all back ... that's what is most impressive
Another great video 👍Thanks for sharing 👍you have a talent young fella 👍
Thank you 😊👍
I remember changing Focus I 1.6 timing belts in 20 minutes, where are those days?

Thanks for the new video, great work as always! As others have said great to see pride in your work 👍😃
Thank you 😊👍
How long before the aftermarket starts marketing chain conversions.
Nice to see someone who actually takes pride is what they do, great job. How long did this take you start to finish. 👍👍
Great vid, how did you lock the crank to torque the front pulley bolt?
go to guys, great showcase of yr skills, well done fellas.
Thank you! 😊👍

Just subbed... Great to watch you at work. Keep the vids coming. 👌🏻
Thank you! 😊👍
Isn´t an oilchange recommended after a forced regeneration ?
Yes absolutely
New subscriber.. Looking forward to the next video 👍🏻
Thank you! 😊👍
Nice work
Thank you! 😊👍
Bloody good video..
Thank you 😊👍
Impressed ,impressive ,lovely to watch you work👍🙏🫶✌️🏴
Thank you 😊👍
Great vid 👍How did u prime oil pump ?? Or did it pick oil up ok ? I thought the rangers had problems when u drain oil for to long ???!!
Only the 2.2 and 3.2 Puma diesels.
How long did all that take....wow 😮😮😮
Gun these Rangers are only reasonably new in Australia haven’t seen many come through yet. They don’t have the vvt oil pump like the 3.2s?
Really good video you can make more attractive by putting nice picture on video that way people will watch more
What’s the cost of the wet belt on the ranger pleas.

The 2.0L (this engine) doesn’t use a vapourisor. It only uses post injection.
So, yes. The oil must be changed after a forced regen
The folie of modern trucks and cars. 🫤
What is the stuff that u use on yhe spray bottle to.clean stuff down ?.
Brake cleaner 😊👍
Have yous come across vaccum pump seizing from bits of belt hard brake pedal
On the 2.2L please ? Or 2.0 , thankx
Toolbox tour?👀

How much does it cost for a transit
£1100+VAT 😊👍

Yep
So you need to undo the steering tack and the sump to do the timing belts. This is not normal.
No it's not, but neither is a "wet belt" design. As someone said below, all the disadvantages of dry belts and chains and none of the advantages of either!
What is ball park cost that job
Manufacturers don't give a toss when it comes to maintenance, so customers get to foot the bill.
i have a 19 plate 3.2 ranger iv been told thats a chain not a belt is that correct 🤷♂️
The 2.2 and 3.2 use a chain, correct.
And for that you should be truly thankful, look after it do regular oil changes and you most likely will never have any trouble from it.
@ apart from the EGR cooler
Id take my chances on an electric car before I bought that junk
Best off with old car pay the emissions tax 👍💨😁
The engine in this vehicle is a complete heap of pure rubbish, such a lousy design for belt access.
Now belts done get rid and sell it lol
Well , going from memory, that background music is from some 70s porn movie 👌💪
Why fords using wet belts just ridiculous set up
cant wait for these belts to start failing out of warranty thanks ford
Great video crap design that fails
Ford why?????
Wet belts are shit just more expensive servicing.
:)
Jesus there nasty enough was told the 2.2 have chains only 2.0s
Hahahaha y would you buy late model vehicles, hate to pay for that job

No Eye protection 🤔
These cars are a joke.
