What a fantastic video. Brilliant young mechanic with an abundance of talent and the ability to demonstrate his said talent. Who would of thought that a working van engine could have been so totally badly designed to need such works at 60k miles. Shame on you FORD, so very lost the plot.

why did they ask for a belt change? as a powertrain engineer and lubricant expert mad idea between Ford and Castol ea no comment!

Genuine question,why do garages not just use genuine filters especially when their getting belts etc from dealer

what an absolute shit design by ford that you have to remove all that for service items like a timing belt. Who ever designs these vehicles are the worst of the worst in the motor trade. Customers moan at the hourly rate , or think its a couple hours work, after seeing a youtube video. They have zero clue. The motor trade wages are shocking bad in this country , and this proves why techs should be earning min basic rate of 40k plus.

An absolute pleasure to watch. This young man is an inspiration for the next generation of garage guys, and gals, I'd be happy to have all my garage needs done here. Pat yourself on the back and be proud.

To be fair my VW Transporter needed a new DMF (a very common fault in the VW) at 36k miles and a new cam belt at 41k miles due to the age - VW guidance sugggests they don't last long despite being dry belts. Price wise the cam belt and water pump wasn't far off this Transits price (despite being done at an indy and being easier to get to than the Transits) and the DMF was also painfully pricey. If the Transits don't have the DMF issue the VWs have then you might still be better off? Also, never touch a 204hp Transporter - check out the forums... so many needing new engines at £20k a pop.

Vehicle designers are getting more and more stupid

£1100 is ok for that amount of work and parts. But stupid idea from Ford. Disaster waiting to happen. I would say to be on the safe side do them every 50,000 but even that's no guarantee. Best avoid Ford wet belts if you can.

Thanks for such video. Probably never going to work on such cars, but viewing is spectacular. Im stuck on vag bse and Renault dci engine rebuild.. From my experiance all troubles comes from lack of service, wrong materials used and mexhanics who simply dont want to do their work properly.
