I made a pot of this yesterday afternoon. Right as I finished, I was called away to take care of something for work. When I returned, I found my wife sitting on the living room couch with a big bowl of the rice, eating it with a spoon. She looked up at me and said, "I don't know what you made, but it's delicious."
I had also prepared some jerk chicken for dinner. Before I threw it on the grill, my wife suggested that she would be fine just eating more rice for dinner.
Anyway, I really liked this recipe, and my wife seems to think it's the best thing she's ever eaten.

I hate cooking but I tried this recipe. SO EASY AND DELICIOUS! It made a huge portion and was definitely a contender with Texas RH. Of course with every recipe you have to tweak it to your liking, so next time I will only use about 1/4 cup of soy sauce to make it a little less salty. Other than that- chef’s kiss!

Texas Roadhouse Rice doesn't have Peas. But of course you can add and take away to fit your taste.

I was thinking the same thing. When I saw him cook the rice until it had brown bits in it that reminded me of Rice A Roni. I didn’t know if Spinelli knew what that was because I ate that a lot when I was a kid. And then I also thought if I could use any leftover rice to make shrimp fried rice. I’m gonna try using the leftover rice to make that. I bet it will give it a lot of flavor.

It's not spicy in my opinion. Just omit any of the spicy Seasoning. Adding Smoked Sausage it Ok.
I would leave out the cayenne. The smoked paprika wouldn't add much if any heat. Adding smoked sausage would be great.

Any advice on if you use brown rice? Tried the recipe and the chicken broth didn’t absorb into the rice until 35+ mins…
Maybe your heat was too low. I haven't tried it with brown rice but typically brown rice takes longer to cook so give it a try and let me know how it goes?
Brown rice takes about twice as long to cook.

Question. Is the measurement for the soy sauce correct?
Yes 😊, but dial back on it to fit your taste. Always season your food to your liking. Also it should be low sodium soy sauce.
