Looks real good! Speaking as an Asian-American dude who grew up cooking Japanese and Chinese food, try mixing the chicken with some soy sauce (you can actually use any liquid sauce you want), a small amount of cornstarch, and sesame oil (you want it to be a light slurry), marinating it like that for 15 minutes, then shallow frying it at the highest heat you can get (when the oil starts smoking). It gives the chicken more of a shine, and keeps it juicy.

I had leftover boneless ribs and chicken so I made the recipe I added hoisin sauce and oyster sauce and a little bit of dark soy sauce added bean sprouts at the end !!!! Big Man! I just made your fried rice and it kicked ass! I took frozen stir fry veggies, ( broccoli, chestnuts, onions, carrots, mushrooms ). I thawed them for about an hour by putting the bag in warm water, it worked well. I cooked fried rice a couple weeks ago with someone else’s recipe and they gave a measurement waaaaay too much on the sesame oil! It takes just a couple drops of it to work. DO NOT overdue the sesame oil! LOL. I like your recipe so well that I going to buy a wok! Thanks for all your awesome recipes!

I like the way you cook. I's easy to follow. Because I used to make this years ago I would take the chicken and put it in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes. It makes it easier to cut. I used to double batch my rice one day to use it the next day. I would make stir fry the day before. You can switch it up between teriake and soy sauce too.
Thank you AB for your version! I usually use Sunbird season packet vs sauces, now I know how to make it with fresh flavors. You're right, cold rice is the key with fried rice-remember that folks.
Now I know what I was missing when I made fried rice,, it was the oyster sauce, Ive always had it in the fridge but never thought about using it in my fried rice.. Great video!

What i like about your recipe is it`s basic, quick, and with no chilies. I`m sick of celebrity chefs here in the UK can`t cook anything without chilies. Nice one matey.
My special meal since I first tasted it when visiting Trinidad 🇹🇹 2013. What a combination of flavors. My family's favorite meal also, whenever I cook it
Looks great. The oyster sauce makes it work. Most Chinese restaurants have what they call brown sauce and that’s what they make almost everything with and it’s a mixture of light and standard soy sauce and oyster sauce and sometimes I have a second one made with fish sauce and then of course you can add ginger and garlic and all the other stuff you want but learning to use the oyster sauce and the fish sauce is definitely the trick to making Chinese food. You can do basically this exact same thing with chow mein, usually they throw cabbage and celery in there with more leafy vegetables but it’s the same base. With this it’s not quite as necessary but with chow mein you really want to add some kind of sugar as well and you can do honey or plain sugar but what I like to do is get premade sauces for like orange chicken or General so I just had a little bit of that and it gives it a little more flavor and the sugar it needs also to kind of get that caramelization going.

@@waltercarey5501 2 cups white rice 3 cups of water... Bring water to boil add a little salt once boiling add rice cut heat to low... cover pot with lid to seal the steam... Cook for 20 mins exactly... Remove rice once twenty minutes is over allow to cool 5 - 10 minutes... Fluff with fork..

I made this tonight AB! I followed all of your directions but I used chopped yellow onions instead because I couldn’t find ant decent green onions which I prefer but I sautéed them prior to adding my frozen veggies. The oyster sauce makes it work. Most Chinese restaurants have what they call brown sauce and that’s what they make almost everything with and it’s a mixture of light and standard soy sauce and oyster sauce and sometimes I have a second one made with fish sauce and then of course you can add ginger and garlic and all the other stuff you want but learning to use the oyster sauce and the fish sauce is definitely the trick to making Chinese food. You can do basically this exact same thing with chow mein, usually they throw cabbage and celery in there with more leafy vegetables but it’s the same base. With this it’s not quite as necessary but with chow mein you really want to add some kind of sugar as well and you can do honey or plain sugar but what I like to do is get premade sauces for like orange chicken or General so I just had a little bit of that and it gives it a little more flavor and the sugar it needs also to kind of get that caramelization going.

@@waltercarey5501 2 cups white rice 3 cups of water... Bring water to boil add a little salt once boiling add rice cut heat to low... cover pot with lid to seal the steam... Cook for 20 mins exactly... Remove rice once twenty minutes is over allow to cool 5 - 10 minutes... Fluff with fork..

I made this tonight AB! I followed all of your directions but I used chopped yellow onions instead because I couldn’t find ant decent green onions which I prefer but I sautéed them prior to adding my frozen veggies.
