  • I'm taking a child's 12 volt F150 Power Wheels and making it into an adult 48 volt F250 Power Wheels. This will be a multi-part series over the next several months. In this video, we chop and stretch the body to make it a crew cab. Filmed with the iPhone 7 on the iPhone camera stand. Logo design by Brandon Kettle. Logo music is "Sour Tennessee Red" by John Deley. Video music is "Granite", "Taking a Beating", "Rise", Demilitarized Zone" and "Heavyweight" all by Ethan Meixsell.

    Would love to see more of this series. My nephew is special needs and is too big for Power Wheels but does not have the motor skills for a go-kart. I was trying to figure out something I could build/modify for him and really like the idea of the riding mower as the base for this build. Thanks and good luck with the rest of the build.

    • @thetennesseetinkerer
      @thetennesseetinkerer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nick, thank you for watching and leaving this nice comment! This is one of those builds that was put on the back shelf and has never been continued. I do hope to finish it some day though. My friend is a master metal fabricator and volunteered to help me build a custom tube chassis in place of the lawn mower base. We have just never gotten together since then to get it done. From experience with some of my my friend's power wheels builds, these things can go upwards of 20 mph, so in essence they are a go cart. You may be able to gear them down or use less batteries for a slower and safer option though. Well, thanks again, and I hope you find a good option for your nephew.

      Daniel, first off, thanks for the watch and the comment. I'd really love to finish this project, and have every intention of doing it some day. However, it will need some pretty extensive welding to make the chassis, a skill I don't currently possess. My friend who was going to assist in that portion has never been able to find time in his busy schedule to help. This is not the last you will see of this project, but I don't really know when it will resume. Thanks again.

      Sorry I took so long to respond. I never have finished my build. It is on hold for now. I decided to not use the lawn mower chassis. I will build a chassis from scratch hopefully when I finish mine. Some people use a gocart chassis. Regardless of what method you use, shortening or lengthening any chassis will require some major welding skills. Good luck with your build and thanks for watching and commenting!

      Michael, I think I understand what you are saying in your comment, but to tell you the truth, the grammar and spelling were so very bad, it’s hard to be sure. I believe you are upset that there is no follow up videos to this build. Or maybe you think there are but I’ve done something to hide them or scam you in some way? Again, your writing is very hard to interpret. Well assuming I understand correctly, I will tell you that where this project ended up in the video is where it currently sits. I have never done any more to it. Someday I hope to, but I don’t know. I put these out for fun, and I don’t really need to. Most people enjoy watching them, but I’d suggest that if it bothers you so much, watch someone else’s videos instead. Or better yet, you could build your own version of this and post it for others to critique.
