Pay the money. 12 92 and twin stick the bugger. These videos lately are the absolute best. I love my cats but you just can't beat the detroits screaming in your ears.
Great video Wayne another great addition to your truck definitely a good place for 12V92. Never get tired of that sound running down the road. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Wayne.
Alright Wayne, as someone who just got out of hospital, believe me when I say it's always better to have something you want rather than something you need, it's the things you want that make life worth living, the things we need are what makes life shitty, so I say go for it brother, 12v92 in that would be just the ticket, keep up the great work Brother 🇬🇧
WOW! I JUST saw this now, Wayne! 😋 That GMC with that beautiful 6-71 LITERALLY had me in tears, because it sounds EXACTLY like the 1973 short nose Brockway roll-off truck we had in the 1990’s I loved to drive with a 5 and a 4 aux shifted by air with a clicker on the main shift lever like a road ranger! I miss that rig so bad! I could wheel it today with hand controls and an Allison auto! My chair could ride in the passenger seat! What a SOUND!! Absolute bliss, what a beautiful old rig! 😢 I literally was in tears! Your dogs are as cute as that Jimmy and yes, I love animals and especially dogs! Best friend a feller could ever have! 😋 And I hope ya got that California Pete! YES, a 12V92 would be BAD ASS in it and show people those yellow 4 joke disasters have some unbeatable competition! 🤣😆😆 That big 12V can reverse the rotation of the earth!! That GMC really woke fond memories and brought me back, and why I will forever be loyal to 2 stroke Detroits, Cleveland division diesels, and EMD’s! They TRULY are the greatest diesels EVER built in world history, and I am serious about that! The legacy of the 2 stroke Elmore cars which were tge most reliable cars ever built in their era and tine shines in these 3 GM diesel lines, as the design was gleaned from an Elmore gas engine design after GM bought out Elmore in 1913! Little history lesson for ya, man! Cheers and thanks for taking me back to better times! 👍🏻 You ROCK!! Can’t wait to see ya at the show this fall!
Nice ride in the old Jimmy! If you're really going to da a race truck, looks like the aluminum rail Pete with 1104 cubic inches of Detroit power (and I'm guessing here, but thinking you can most likely bump that higher than factory specs) should be a hauler for sure! All I can say is: Check your wallet depth and take a deep breath!
Even though they were a different vintage, the 6-71 sound bring me back to riding along in one of our 9500s in the 1970s. What a teat Wayne! Speaking of deafness, I’ve got lots of ear ringing today from the screaming 8-710 last night.
That fat cab though, what a treat! Twin sticks to boot. We all have our favorites but you gotta appreciate the old iron like that. The 12V needs a home, and that Pete looks like just the place.
That ‘twin stick 59 GMC single axle with that sweet sounding Screaming Jimmy was a treat for sure. I was totally amazed that the bottom of the doors on the truck looked absolutely mint, hell that old girl looked like she is fit enough if you are sick enough to go back to earning an honest living. The driveshaft disc brake “parking brake” makes you wonder why in blue hell did it take domestic auto makes until the 1970’s to make front disc brakes standard and another 25 years to make 4-wheel disc brakes standard. As far as that 359 project truck you will never hear me complain if you buy it and put that 12v92 in it. The trick will of course be sweet talking your funny little honey into the purchase and of course the project. If you buiy and build that unit out you seriously need to consider putting 5+4 transmission setup in it.
Are you kidding me?!! That's exactly what you should do with it! The f'n frame looks immaculate from the outside. Now those are show truck bones! Or the ultimate rat rod. But that V12 needs this home! A stretched long hood. Sweet!! That ole GMC is sweet as hell!!
Is that even a real question? Of course that truck needs a 12v92! Get it home. Would love to see some regular content on this truck being built into a drag truck for Onaway... I think it would definitely be a hot ticket for the channel to attract more eyes!
Bro that sound from the fat cab Especially when the OG got behind that wheel was killin it respect to the both of y'all, the new Potential project i likes bro 💯
Yes go for it, you will regret not buying in a couple of months .These trucks are getting quite rare. So all the best from Glasgow Scotland UK with respect to you're self and family.
If seeing and hearing that truck go down the road doesn't give you a big time "happy in the pants", there's something fricken wrong with you! Great stuff sir, thank you for sharing :) Oh, and yes, you definitely NEED that truck for the 12V project! (says the guy not footing the bill) It would make for some amazing content though, you have to admit that.
That brings back memories. My first truck was a ‘59 930 235hp 6-71N that a PO had swapped in 110 injectors. Man did it smoke! Can you say free mosquito abatement. The exhaust pipe was hollow inside and was more of an expansion chamber than a muffler. 5+3 double overs with a U 200 diff. Top speed was 57 mph downhill with a tailwind. Took nearly 3 miles to get it up to top speed with 80k lbs. that was in 1981 I gave it a Pearl white lacquer paint job And redid the interior card boards in black diamond tuck. Had a 40/60 seating with the driver on a spring. Swapped it out for an ElDorado air ride. What a POS that seat was. That began my career as an owner operator when I was 19 yo in 1979 Haulin tomatoes in the Sacramento valley …. Thanks for the ride along.
Sounds like it was a pretty sweet ol truck! Funny so many trucks had those El Dorado seats back in the day and all you ever hear is how they were junk. 110s woulda been alot in a natural 671!
Definitely snag that 359. It would make a cool pulling truck. Looks like someone already stripped all the frame and everything to paint. Just put a motor and some sticks in it!
Of course I'm jealous Mark let you drive that '59 900 time piece . Must be a progressive auxilliary in that jewel. As for the potential Pete project..........probably as good a chassis as any, to start with .
My favorite is the Detroit Symphony Orchestra under the hood! So what are those things hanging off that driver side cab corner?? That Pete looks like a great home for the 12V92.
12v92 in an aluminum frame truck at onaway. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 put 4 turbos on it and do bobtail. But. Oh God. Loaded you'd snap or bend that Frame 😅😅😅 I say bring er home!
Those wicked fatcabs are the thing that brought me into Detroits originally, and why the 6-71 is my favourite of the lot. Do the temperature-actuated radiator louvres work correctly? I'm sure GM had some brilliantly-overwrought space age name for it like DYNAHEAT or something but it's genuinely awesome when that shit still works. Fatcabs utterly rule, and driving a short wheelbase fatcab is undeniable proof that you're a Detroit fan because ow.
this brings back fond memories riding shotgun with my uncle in the late 70's in an International Loadstar with a Detroit (i don't remember what engine, v6, v8?) and duel stacks hauling "sticks" to the paper mill, you couldn't hear an elephant fart! if this were today: noise ordinance, what noise ordinance?
Absolutely love the 6-71s im really a 6 cylinder kind of guy because the y make the best noise wheter its petrol or diesel they have good power good torque and the best noise in my opinion
That old GMC is too cool! I would imagine there's probably a trick to shift that dual-stick to where it's not such a huge gap in the auxiliary between 2nd and 3rd? Anyway, a guy could always swap it out for a 10 speed Ranger and a 2 speed rear to make it a little more livable! ..and yeah, you probably need that 359 for the V-12. That extended hood would be perfect!😄👍👍
The extended-extended hood will make the v12-92way easier installing , sq-100 rear axles are rated 40,000 #, .hauled logs witd ktta-650 w/ 800 to rear tires sometimes pulling short grades of 18-23% they held up !!💥
I wanna say hell yes get it leave it ratty looking don't even paint the 12. Slap it in yellow. Lol. But I do wanna see the teal 359 up and running as well!! Up to you bud I'm watch either way!!👍 That feller know how to shift reminds me of riding with my dad in his 62 Autocar with twin sticks.
Absolutely you need a home for the 12V92. So, buy that Pete, slap it in, bring us along for the ride.
New drivers today can't understand the hearing loss we enjoy from running the old stuff. Good memories.
I drove an old Peterbilt with a NHRS 275 WITH 6 inch straights and a 4x4 trans.
It was 1982, I was 18 Yrs old and on top of the world!
As long as you can slide it past the wife I don’t think anybody on this side of the screen is gonna tell you not to buy it! 🤣
😂😂
She don't even ask anymore 🤣🤣
ROFLMAO 😂😂😂
No-no honey that was the on under the tarp behind the shop, dont you remember???. just tell her just one more , i promise that is it !!
@@Ol2Strokersounds like a keeper, bud!!
Now that Detroit was singing. And sounds like a great plan to me Wayne.

Thanks man 🤟
Of course you need this Wayne!!! Why the hell not!!! Love it!!!
Yup wayne thats what ya need to park that 12v92 in.. what a beast..
That Detroit is just singing sweet music ❤!!
Hell yeah, 12V92. You've got the 3408 359, now you need a KTA600 359!
a vtta903 is what's really missing.
You just forgot to slam your hand in the door love it!
Buying the 359 is a good idea to give a home to one of your engines. The 12v92 would be perfect!!
The tinhorns for rear fenders sold me on it lmao
whoever calls ya crazy fir buyin a rig like this, is crazier than you! 6-71 in a GMC, that is cool as hell!
Great video Wayne another great addition to your truck definitely a good place for 12V92. Never get tired of that sound running down the road. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Wayne.
It’s a no brainer heck yes you need it perfect set up

Go for it, I'd love0 to see that 12V92 in a truck at Onaway... have fun with it...
Definitely a need. Looks like a good home for 12v92 if I ever seen one. Looks move in ready!
Hell yeah! A daycab with a 12 cyl.. yessir!! Do it!
16:35 I dig it. I wanna see it runnin' again. It would make a sweet longhaul/lowboi rig.
Definitely the 12-V-92 's new home
V12 Pete, cant go wrong!
12v92 w/ 10spd, and juice up the engine with bigger injectors for max power!!
And a common rail set up

yes absolutly you should buy. what a great looking truck. paint first

Oh for sure on stuffing the 12 in it!
Do we need it? No but we sure do want it!! I’d love to see the 12V in there
If you can get it cheap go for it looks great rails are nice and plenty of room under hood. And leaf spring front axle which I like God for it
That old boy is getting it done 😎
Good intro with Jerry reed, you guys are saving our history of the semi truck😊😊

what a nice older truck, sounds so sweet rolling
You need to get it. I think it would be a great idea
100% worth every penny!!! I think I would add a cowcatcher for that roadtrain look.
Extra long hood 359 should be nice and roomy for a certain Detroit 12V-92 that you just happen to own.
Buy it Wayne It would be a great addition to the fleet of toys

That ol Pete is definitely worth saving & 12V71 would make it a screamer
Those corrugated fenders need to make a comeback, they'd look amazing painted, chromed or polished.
Those 5x4's are really cool, it starts as a 4 or 5 speed and as you load the truck you start gaining gears.
You know you want it, and you know we want it!! Seems like a perfect use of "man maths" to get the old V12 under cover and out of the elements...😉😉🙂🙂
That Jimmy is a sweetheart!! Why wouldn't you put the 92 in an extra long 359, ya already got it. Could always flip it if you got board.👌🏻🤘🏻🇺🇸
