Thanks for an informative video. my 1992 4.0l just failed MOT on lower spring pan being rusty. I took the oppertunity to change the springs and shocks. your video helped me put it all back together as I ran out room in my garage and didn't drop the suspension so I had to use the rod method.
You are a bad ass. Can’t wait to see it done. I have a 90 XJS with 9,700 original miles am thinking about taking the v12 anchor out and putting a LS2 I have . Good luck
My Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce uses the same method on the front springs. I can use a floor jack with the four threaded rods since my subframe is still in the car. I bought the threaded rod from ACE instead of McMaster-Carr

Regular electric tape is not a permanent solution. It will hardens with time, loose stickiness, further more the sticky thing turns into a messy putty. There are some automotive tapes out there. Other than that, this was a fun video with some metal 🤘.
hey if you dont open up between the two pieces of metal on the strut tower you will regret it you MUST kill all the rust in there or it will escalate fast , an instant MOT failure
