  • In this video I make a custom exhaust system for my LS-Swapped Jaguar XJ-S from the manifolds to the tips! What I do here is applicable to any engine swap or other project that requires a fully custom exhaust system, so if you've never done this before I hope this video can serve as something educational for someone looking to do this. I am not an automotive professional or an experienced welder so there might be better ways to do this than what I show. That being said, this method worked! It could work for you too.

    Those are very nice welds for someone who doesn't do it every day. I like it! Great video.

    I dig your problem solving process. Well thought out, well reasoned. It's great! I thought it sounded best with just the resonators.

    Took me all day watching sections while rebuilding the front suspension on my 96 V8 AWD Ford Explorer. Was really fun watching you get this done! You are an inspiration, it turned out great! 💥👍🏻

    Really great work!
    In my opinion you *take care of heat to some (rubber) parts. **7:00*
    Therefore manufactures use head shields in most positions of an stock exhaust.
    Exhaust is about to 800-1000°C - so some parts meld or they can catch fire.

    This was a fantastic video, you got through everything in such a clear way! Can't wait for the air con. Again, so good to watch. It takes time to do the job AND video at the same time, so congrats.

    Awesome job....only concern would be....to put another form of jacking for safety if the car shifted forward from wrenching and the jacks fell over....not be good.... something for car to fall on like ramps.....chalk. the tires....your safety is most important

    Lotta blood sweet and tears going in your custom JAG. Gotta be proud. Jumping to you final drive - should be awesome!
    Curious, if you know. what happen if you reduce pipes to 2" at the junction where they could fit through the "tunnels? I'd be worried about bottoming out.

    1) What is going to keep your rubber hangers from vibrating off their metal rods when they dry up a bit?
    2) I would recess the tail pipe tips a little so a "bump" doesn't take out your exhaust system.
    3) You had some on screen text saying you had the catalytic converter direction marked wrong, but I didn't see that referenced again.

      At about the 14:00 minute mark you can see the arrow pointing the wrong way. I welded that one on backwards and had to cut it off and redo to get it correct. Hangers I'll add some tack welds on the ends but I'm really not that concerned. They're pretty tight around that stainless rod.

    Hello I have a 1984 XJS Jaguar. Which I am doing a swap with a LS3 6.2 motor. On the driver side my manifolds are hitting on my frame wheel and steering shaft. What type of swap exhaust manifold do you use on your Jaguar swaps to avoid this problem.
    Waiting for your reply..Thanks

    • @AHFixIt
      @AHFixIt  ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to make it completely custom. It is not easy

    • @RWin-xi6dn
      @RWin-xi6dn ปีที่แล้ว

      I made it custom. Really would like to know what type of manifolds to use. I have purchased 2 different types of manifolds and they didn't work. Was looking at your videos seeing that you did a good job. What' type of manifolds will a part number of them would be very helpful. Thank you for your help.

      Anything with a center dump that is formed steel and not cast iron. I don't have a part number.

    Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. "Bundesabgasbespaßungsverbotsverordnung" in German....((

    Are you really going to protect that scamming kit company not telling what manifolds?? That’s funny because for the price and the amount of actually “custom” stuff they give you they should be illegal to begin with and even their “custom” stuff needs modified lol, they don’t even send you entire motor mounts and tell you to go buy it in a store but they send you the dumbest intake 90 for absolutely no reason, and yeah, C5 Iron manifolds still need modified on a driver side instructions for which they basically don’t provide , worst company ever

    The jaguar V12 is a fantastic reliable powerful engine, until it falls into the hands of Americans, who have neither the knowhow or sophistication to look after them

      The reason the LS gets dropped into everything including your mom's wagon, is because it's the most affordable and most reliable engine ever built.
