Not sure why you turned on me, but you used to be very supportive of the channel. I have 33 comments from you in the past 10 months, and up until I didn't reply to one of your questions about updating the DJI Go4 app, they were all quite positive. Then you turned against me. Not sure what's going on there.

51 Drones. Incase you are anyone else would like to be extra safe. These lights are great for night flying, or in overcast weather. When I say super bright I truly mean it. I have the white strobe on top red on the left side & the green on the right side. For extra safety.

Good tips thanks. For night footage I’ve mostly seen people recommend never taking your iso above 400 and instead increasing the shutter speed. A high iso causes more noise in the picture.

You can't change designation between 107 and hobbyist (or the other way around) DURING the flight. You must choose one or the other before you take off and stick with the protocols of the designation you chose preflight.

I've been doing a bit of research myself before my first flight - just ordered my first drone the other day! It has been pretty confusing with part 107, section 336, etc, etc, and not night flying specifically, but the "leash" you mentioned was something I thought existed if you want to go beyond being a hobbyist. Thanks for clearing this up for me! Also, I watched and subscribed to Orange 83's channel - thanks for the recommendation.

Mavic Pro on focusing is so true! I am a cert. pilot sUAS and live in the D/FtWorth area and is all class B & D airspace so even if I fly at night unless I'm at a *AMA field* then you have to have a waiver to my knowledge? Where you are might be E or G air space and what you say is correct. Just mentioning that the air space makes a difference as a hobbyist. I use Airmap and it is good for letting me know where I can fly and how high. You no doubt have your 107 now so enjoy and be safe and I did enjoy your video. :-)

I believe in the U.S., in order to fly at night you also need anti-collision lights, as both a hobbyist and a part 107 pilot. I could be wrong but that's my understanding. I bought a very bright strobe light for the top of my drone just to be on the safe side. Great video and thanks for the info!

A great posting from Orange 83, thanks for giving the link. I already subscribed to your channel.
I live in the UK and I think the regulations are very similar, although they have just announced some new regulations, any drone over 250 grams will need to be registered from November 2019 and all recreational and hobbyist pilots will have to take an online test. Commercial pilots have to pass a CAA test to get either a commercial licence or a PfCO (Permissions for Commercial Operations), this applies to any flying from which you make any money or reward, even it is from Utube.
Anyway thanks again for some great videos, I'm just a beginner so still lots to learn.

I fly 3-4 times a week at night, what I use to keep site of my Mavic Pro is bicycle strobe lights. Both EBay and Amazon have. Them and they come in white or red and have 4-5 different strobe modes.. they strap on with a rubber O ring type strap. I prefer the white strobes and mount one on the underside of the rear arms. They are rechargeable and about $10 a pair.

You should update the discription and ad the FAA Advisory Circular 91-57B to the list.
Visual line of sight is only one part, you also need to see whats on the ground under the drone, like people an vehicles.

Hey Russ. Yep, that’s one great video on Orange 83’s visit to Iceland. You are so right on his spot on post production editing! Also great info on drone night flights. Best of luck with attaining your FAA part 107 in the USA.

It is not just revenue that separates the hobbyist and 107 flights. If the flight does not produce revenue, but is in the furtherance of a business, even a not-profit, it comes under 107. Otherwise, a great video.

A better recommendation is to document the status under which you are flying in your UAS Pilot Logbook.
