@@swaaahtome Konniks are stronger, but also more expensive considering they also need inf upgrades in addition to the konnik elite upgrade. Bulgarian cavaliers are strengthwise comparable to paladins (slightly weaker). I opt for cavaliers/knights in castle/early imperial and then trasition to konniks later on if I have enough gold left. Mind you I am by no means a pro player, but watch viper playing bulgarians in this game: th-cam.com/video/SZqPgAyIqfo/w-d-xo.html :)
@@swaaahtome Yes, I try to harass my opponent with 2 milita in early feudal, transitioning afterwards into scouts. It helps scouting his base to be one or two steps ahead of his plans. You can also invest heavier into a m@a rush, adding skirmisher to your melee units, depending on how he reacts. If you have done some gamage you may pressure your oppinent even more or outboom him, with bulgarians having an impressive lategame. The early m@a powerspike seems neglectable, but to me this game is less stressful if I dictate the games pacing. 2handed swordsmen are also really good later on with the castle upgrade.
@@swaaahtome Two handed swordsman is the way to go as Bulgarians, the upgrades are free so you don't lose research time and resources, and they get insane armor in the imperial age. You can use horses too, i'd go for konniks, but use them more as a back up and not the main strength of your army. unless your enemy is going into mass archers, then i'd go for cavaliers.
You could try to build a forge to get the 50% cheaper upgrade! an Armor upgrade on the M@A cost you but they are immune to villagers afterwards. What I would really with forge is fletching to get more attack and range on the tower. Does someone agree with me?
For sure! Made this guide before the most recent patch came out but I would highly encourage some type of blacksmith addition into the build to take advantage of the cheaper costs
I found the same strat independently - just 10 gold like drush and 21 pop up. I do however only put 3 on stone, I don't think 4 on stone is necessary. And I get horse collar immediately after up, because sheep run out just about then.
The 3 on stone is a good idea, just depends how aggressive you want to go. Originally when I was trying this build, I wanted to try to transition into Castle + Stirrups knights so the 4 on stone made sense to me.
bulgarians are my fav civ, good luck with your channel :)
Well then I must ask, Konnicks or cavaliers?! I love Bulgarians but suck at using them effectively.

@@kerschi1421 Nice thanks! Do you make much use of the militia line at all?
