I'm having so much fun learning all these new foods and recipes. IM American but live in Miami we get all the carribbean goods and food here! You can try but the outcome will be different.
I usually do mines with both yeast and baking powder and i love the texture i get

Green seasoning is a mixture of culantro,garlic,scallions and peppers. I added tamarind seeds to the tamarind.

@@gulshankwatra2841 I think it's a personal preference. Most Trinidadians like the feel of the seed in the midst of the sauce.
I try this recipe but it didn't raise when I was frying. I stopped and add some baking powder. I didn't see it was included in the recipe.
if it didn't raise with the yeast then the yeast must have been old
