Pest Thread Spears are likely a little stronger if you can get to them. However, if you're on NG+ or late base game, you likely have access to Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike. Takes these guys down in 2-3 casts if you're lucky, otherwise 3-5 will always do it for me. Crit + repeat. For maximum cheese, add Mimic.
I'm trying to do this on a low level account with +3 weapons for a co-op build. It's taking me 15+ casts to stagger. Is it an issue with scadu fragments? damage? WL? Something I'm missing? I was hoping to just grab a specific tear real fast.
low damage from low level and no fragments might be a problem, try putting golden vow on to see if the buff helps. pest threads really like being buffed
There's an upgraded version of pest threads in the DLC. Try that

i used the Spear pest threads against them
you have to cast a hundred and you're at max level... yes very useful...
