I do love the magma sorceries especially Roiling Magma. Coupled with the Gelmir Staff etc it can do quite good direct damage but its explosion is what does the most damage. Also, as long as the enemy/ies isn't/aren't already alerted it can, when thrown close to the enemy, (which can be finicky admittedly) it attracts their attention and they'll just stand there until it goes BOOM! My main problem is that there isn't _ENOUGH_ magma spells. 😕I like what there is but it pains me to admit it...they need improving and there needs to be more than four (same with the blood/thorn sorceries which I also really like). As it stands Roiling Magma is the one I use the most out of the four (Rykard's Rancor would be my second most used) and even then it's usually best used as a surprise attack or if you can throw it on an enemy/enemies that can't reach you easily (i.e from a different elevation). If there were more Magma spells I would love to do a Magma build.

I think the main reason why almost no-one uses magma sorceries is becausd the huge stat investmen required. They are strong and fun, but on a first run you just dont have the levels for it.... I wish they had lower requirements...
Im the stupid one that used magma shot & still using ROILING MAGMA. Mostly against enemies weak 2 fire, like the TREE SENTINEL & the ULCERATED TREE SPIRIT. May I offer a suggestion for future runs? (Yes I know this is old but this problem may show up in the future). If an enemy is completely immune to your damage type, like the lizard thing in the manor, maybe grab a bad weapon that is themed around your damage type. But, as far as I know, Rykard didn't create Magma Sorcery, I think it was the God Devouring Serpent. I don't know exactly what says it, but every lore video with some Rykard origins. It basically says, when Rykard, not yet one with the serpent, discovered ancient curses from those who worship the God Devouring Serpent. They where probably given to his worshipers by the serpent as a kind of gift, and its not hard to connect the magma serpent and its hex stuff to the magma sorcery. In any case, Fromsoft really should expand on it, there is so much mystery, yet so clear power. Imagine playing as Leydell Knight fighting their way through a huge temple complex, we might even find Dadacar, the theorized mother of the Man Serpents, and impregnated by the God Devouring Serpent level worshipper of It.
