That Rahdan wasn't even prime Rahdan. That was a younger version of himself that lost to Margot back in intro cutscene. Prime Redahn was the one that bodied Milania
@@xironheadx-4590you’re gonna tell me this guy, which is literally called a "god boss" at the end of the fight is weaker than morgott lore wise? There is zero evidence for that and it makes no sense whatsoever
@xironheadx-4590 It is implied to be his prime. Plus he has the mind of himself after fighting malenia, so he would have all his post malenia battle skills. His body being closer to the look of pre-morgott doesnt make it not his prime. Also if he was only as strong as morgott then he wouldnt be miquella's consort now would he?
@Chaos_knight553 Prime Radahn is shown being overwhelmed by Morgott in the games intro. THIS version of Radahn though, in Mohg’s corpse and amplified by Miquella’s new god form, would likely crush Morgott. DLC Radahn should be the strongest character we see by a ways.

Literally the only boss ever that made me play this game at the lowest graphics setting. With still some frame drops during the T pose light nuke attack. Truly bs
the biggest issue I had with waterfowl dance is lack of clarity. Players didn't figure out how to dodge it by being careful and watching for gaps in the attack, because visually there aren't any. They had to painstakingly discover through trial-and-error the dodge timings and directions to exploit invisible gaps in the hitboxes. Radahn's 2nd phase is just that, over and over. All clarity is thrown away for spectacle and it bludgeons any fairness in learning. There is only trial-and-error.
is learning not trial and error? Its just a lot of it. the issue is the sheer scale of attacks, not that each one is bullshit. I’ll agree that waterfowl is kind of bs (if you don’t recognize when malenia likes to throw it and can prepare for it), but most of consort radahns attacks are just normal swings with some delayed area denial, pretty similar to the mohg boss fight fittingly. The one attack i didnt like was his repeated flash of light down slams after his rock throw in phase 2. That attack is impossible to read visually much like waterfowl.
@@heckogoop4318It’s trial and error in the sense that basically no one is going through his second phase first try without a build that hard counters him. Most other bosses might have some trial and error moves but as a whole beating even a boss like Orphan or Isshin first try is very much possible on a blind playthrough.
@@sturmmagnunstein1008 He doesn't have a one shot if you have armor/dragoncrest Tali/high Scadu. Which I think is one of the reasons I find him easier than Malenia as Malenia's Waterfowl is a "one shot" for me. I think the problem is people are fighting him with low to mid Scadu fragments.
I wouldn’t say that. More so that because his attacks are very long, the stagger “meter” begins to regenerate and makes him harder to stagger. 3 great sword guard counters can get him as long as his combos give you the time to land the hits.
Even with powerstanced Greatswords and the poise break tear, I wasn't able to poise break him without dying. So I just went with fingerprint shield + antspur rapier

If you’re struggling with this absolute beast of a boss here are some tips. -never roll backwards in second phase -you can strafe his grab attack if you run around him -for his slice/slice/double slice attack, roll really early for the first attack -great shields are amazing against him - his flying meteor attack can be dodged by running to one side and jumping before they hit you -fast weapons with status effect, particularly rot and bleed are good as well Hope this helps
i can't help myself from rolling backwards. its a reflex. i see big swords coming at me, its sort of just ingrained in my head to dodge away from them, not _towards_ them.
His cross slash or the slash, slash, double slash also starts from the right side of radahn. If your going for the frame perfect dodge, keep your eyes locked on that arm.
@justsomeotherguywithamusta6810 parrying is extremely viable imo. during first and second phase, the AI sometimes does the fast right hand slash into delayed double slash after every parry. the delayed hit is super easy to parry, even if you get hit by the first part of the combo.
You know I see no one talking about just how much Rahdan would actually love us and just how fucking excited he would be to fight us. Hearing about a tarnish that's running around gathering greatrunes would get that big man so happy, he might even throw a festival just so we come to fight him. For us it would be a terrifying experience, for him he would be like a teenage girl preparing for a highschool prom
The Nth souls game sad factor: We never fight Radahn in full possess of his mind. He's either zombified by the Scarlet Rot or bewitched by Miquella. Agreed. Many bosses in this DLC were clearly never tested in a meaningful way and the devs should actually factor in build-choices and the fact that Elden Rings controls suck with the buffering of inputs and the literal delay in rolling. After beating it I think it’s absolutely the hardest boss ever in the series, but it really did feel like beating an anime dragonball z character flying around at the speed of light. It almost had to be a bit BS to meet the bar of killing a god and the strongest demigod in his prime
Elden rings worlds “power level” is also a lot higher than dark souls, where everything is dead or dying used-to-be strong type dude by the time you fight them. They had to actually make the gods of ER feel as hyped as their lore or the fights feel hollow

An item description talks about Mohg “trying to share his bloody bedchamber” with Miquella, whereas Miquella has abandoned his sense of love. There’s definitely a difference between the two
Except this isn’t prime Radahn. I don’t know why people keep acting like we’re fighting Radahn as he was during the shattering. This is Radahn’s soul in Mohg’s body being powered up by Miquella. Even phase 1 isn’t prime because he’s still in a completely different body, and presumably still empowered by Miquella.
People complaining about difficulty... the boss is learnable BUT the double slash into cross is BS, his clones are very inconsistent and sometimes clip you, sometimes they dont... and visually, that fight sucked. I dont think he needs to get nerfed but i think he needs to be adjusted on the tracking of some attacks and probably the speed of the double cross slash. People simply telling you to git gud have no concept of balance, they will simply say that to ANYTHING, doesnt matter how stupid the game gets xb
Honestly, if they just fixed the cross slash combo then the fight would've been completely fine gameplay-wise. People just need to git gud. Though I also agree that fight looks terrible visually. It's like a Radahn Fanboy anime kid thought that adding him again with "super cool" ultra light beam holy nuke powers would look "so awesome". The Light beams don't even hinder my vision of the fight unlike the other people but it still looks like a cluttered over the top flashy mess that just doesn't look cool imo. Don't even get me started on the meteor attack lmao, it looks so bad compared to Starscourge Radahn's actual meteor attack. Fromsoft just wanted to make it even more over the top but ended up making it worse. Overall, fIght isn't bad gameplay-wise, but visually and even lore-wise it sucks.
The double slash ABSOLUTELY needs to be nerfed. The startup is like what, 11 frame? Its reactable but even if you dodge the first slash, without lightroll youll get hit by the second. You cant jump it, you dont want to block it because the third hit will kill you if youre guard broken. You can probably BHS out of it, but you cant raptor out it. You can parry it, but i can assure you if you miss, youre dead, and just try to parry a frame 11 attack on reaction.

Every other boss in this game, I’ve beaten them with no armor and truly nothing but a lordsworn greatsword, not even crab. This was very hard to do and I died many thousands of times, around 200 just to Malenia. All those bosses are easy next to Consort Radahn. They’re truly not even in the same league. I couldn’t imagine a fromsoft boss that was harder than malenia, but Radahn definitely is. I’ve died close to 400 times and honestly, it doesn’t look like the end is near. I can’t even get him consistently to 30% health. His first phase is fine, it’s the Miquella+Radahn phase that’s the problem. It’s easily the hardest boss ever in a fromsoft game. He has moves that I still don’t know how to consistently dodge, and he leaves virtually no openings on anything he does. Every attack he throws explodes later and wrecks you. I wouldn’t be surprised if it took me a thousand attempts to beat this guy with my barebones setup.
I 100%'d the game on release and didn't touch it again until recently - Finished the DLC the other day and I'm doing Haligtree now and I'm finding Malenia to maybe be more difficult than Consort Radahn. But they're difficult in different ways I guess.

My only complaint about the boss is how massive the HP bar is if you summon the NPC cooperators that don't pull their weight in the fight. The fight is actually way easier if you don't summon them at all.
I think the trade off is worth it.. With the extra NPC at the start, it divided his attention and then save your mimic for phase 2. It’s the only way I could beat him by summoning Ansbach. It adds a 40% increase to his health but the trade off is you get to assess the battle better and learn his move set without instantly dying the moment you screw up.
And now he's fixed. He turned from a messy good fight into an excellent one. Glad Fromsoft took feedback, even though the damage nerf and the slam's hitbox removal was unnecessary IMO.
@bobtruett76 because a challenging boss has been made piss easy. Far beyond actual bug fixes. Those games are meant to be hard, and because people cried that they couldn't beat him instead of actually learning how to beat him, everyone has to suffer.
@k-tech2937 they think you're being a gatekeeper because they hate the game. I literally saw someone reply "I don't have hours to spend fighting bosses I have much better things to do" like BROTHER IN CHRIST WHY WOULD YOU BUY A F****** FROMSOFT DLC THEN
@@AnthonyDoesTH-cam I liked pre nerf Radahn, and I've said that the damage reduction was unnecessary. Also, I don't understand the people that say they don't have time to learn a boss. So they threw money for an expansion that's harder than the base game? So why do people even bother playing these games?
It's more accurate to say that gamers tend to develop unhealthy habits when presented with a challenge that is over their heads. It's reported some people spent 5 evenings on this boss, I haven't spent 5 evening on one piece of content since I was six years old.
I think they do need to make some adjustments to the brightness of his moves. While I am not affected myself, people with light sensitivity or epilepsy can certainly have a hard time even seeing what the boss is doing.

I agree on this; also They should NOT nerf his damage, he's supposed to hit super hard; what I think is a problem is he literally hits non stop with barely if any no delay or stop in between. Even Orphan of Kos, Malenia,Soul of Cinder and more had a hard yet fair pattern to remember and moments to take advantage of. Radahns hit flurries are so rapid and nonstop there is basically no other strategy at this point than to use a great shield or the stone shield. For the promised consort Radahn battle, all Fromsoft really should have done is balance phase one and phase two so that the total HP for each phase are equals - especially in that phase two is a 1 versus 2 "piggyback" battle. For sure this is my least favorite battle in the DLC.
Youre really downplaying the bad design aspects of the boss. If you slow down a video of the fight you can see occasionally not even his model can keep up with his combos, and has to be snapped into position because of insufficient downtime between combo strings. This boss was just artificially hard, his combos aren't particularly hard to dodge it's just his ridiculously low downtime and FPS tanking flashbangs that makes this fight hard
Actually, you’re wrong about Radahn ever being “nerfed.” The original radahn fight was quite literally bugged so bad as to wear one of his attacks was almost always completely impossible to dodge and could one shot you, all they did was change the hitboxes and speed in that attack, he’s just as hard as before, he’s just not glitched.
-The game was so bugged, one of his attacks one shotted. -They patched the bug so now his attacks are no longer one shots. So in other words he got nerfed then
@@mushroomy9899 removing bugs has to do with game interactions working as envisioned by developers within a game's systems. Nerfs(and buffs) have to do with the alteration of a game element's performance in order to adjust the player's difficulty/reward in interacting with said element. Fixing Radahn's bugs can make the fight closer to the intended vision of the developers for said battle; but in fixing those bugs the developer can absolutely change the player's experience in dealing with those game elements in comparison to past players' experiences. And in Radahn's case, by fixing a bug that caused him to one shot players in the past, it absolutely nerfed his difficulty(prepatch radahn being arguably comparable to Melania) compared to those players who had to originally experience his release version(regardless of how balanced he was or wasn't). P.S. - Radahn's wasnt changed to make him more balanced; they changed him to make the dlc more accessible by removing his initial version's difficulty as a literal barrier to entry(the financial impediment to the sale of fromsofts product a pre patched radahn would have been being obvious) to the dlc.
lol no the fanbase just kept talking about it until fromsoft went “whatever here’s Radahn and he’s harder now” should’ve been something Godwyn related but whatever the weirdos cried their way into another repeat boss in ER…. Not like it would’ve been sicker to have a new boss.
I think it should have been Godwyn. Prime Radahn should have remained a myth, letting players imagine how powerful he would have been without showing it.

the biggest issue I had with waterfowl dance is lack of clarity.
One thing. Boss is not weak to stagger damage. He is literally the boss with the biggest stagger bar.
I wouldn’t say that. More so that because his attacks are very long, the stagger “meter” begins to regenerate and makes him harder to stagger. 3 great sword guard counters can get him as long as his combos give you the time to land the hits.

I think they do need to make some adjustments to the brightness of his moves. While I am not affected myself, people with light sensitivity or epilepsy can certainly have a hard time even seeing what the boss is doing.
I can face him for about 20 minutes before the migranes start. No other game has made me feel like that.
These people do not play videogames with flashing lights etc. And if they do, it's on them. Health is more important than a videogame.
i made a script to turn brightness way down in P2 just cause i have the curse of shitty eyes xdd which made it so i couldn't play online and let the tank bro help but at least I wasn't getting blinded for the entire 10ish seconds I could survive the lightshow
They need to add an actual pattern with very slight pauses in between because right now it's ridiculous.

one thing that isnt entirely true is the size of Radahn, he is smaller because as implied by the armor. This is PRIME young Rahdahn and he is actually taller than mogh by a lot.
It's not that, if you talk to Ansbach you learn Mohg's body was reanimated as a vessel for Radahn's soul, which is why it's closer to Mohg's size (which is still pretty big) but not as big as Radahn in the base game.
