- If you are planning on fitting a Vape Ignition to your lambretta then please watch this video as Dom has just fitted one and even for us it was a mission! Make sure you watch all the way through as there are some very important do's and don'ts. Also I mess about as per normal, we have had more gifts, stickers and even other TH-cam channels contacting us!!! The bit i noticed i didn't say in the video, was what actually caused me the the problems with setting it up, The BLOODY WOODRUFF KEY !!!....... I had decided to fit a new one & unbeknown it sat fractionally higher enough to not let the flywheel seat properly & wouldn't strobe up or run right, Darrel Taylor had come across this before & gave me a checklist of things to check, a big benefit of buying from Dealers you can talk to & use the products they sell. I did my research on fitting these kits looked a nightmare so being a good supporting customer to EST scooters I got him to do it. I must say it looked a lot less stress fitting to my series 2. Great ignition though highly recommend it
If Dom says it was a mare, then it must have been bad!
Have to say it would've been a breeze if it wasn't for the bloody woodruff key, its a lovely bit of kit & easy to fit.

I have variable timing at the minute but have been told to put a static on there it’s a rb252, what do you reckon?
Why do u want to change it?
I’m taking it to my local tuner and he seems to think the static is better because when you’re cruising with a variable timing he said you could pop holes in the piston as he seen it before
@@Jackintheshed if it’s a Darrell Taylor RB252 and he’s your tuner then I’d probably listen to him. We run variable ignition on all or road scoots and race ones. Never had a problem cruising at high speed.

Just fitted the Vape and as you state in this video the instructions are of little use.
My observation is that the line on the centre boss needed to have been represented onto the outside of the flywheel fan to allow for ease of timing up and strobing. We ended up doing this and it seemed to work but it’s a shame they never did this in the manufacturing process leaving a wide interpretation as to how it fits. 😊
was hoping this video would show how to wire in the lights but no. I fitted a vape to my Vega bitza -it runs but I have no lights or horn

I’ve fitted a new vape sport system but getting no spark. I’ve got good earths as done continuity tests on all the wiring CDI / regulator so noting is loose. I’ve fitted the 4 wire loom without a battery and an MB ignition switch. But still getting no spark. Timing set to 24 degrees . Any ideas?
Normally its an earthing issue, but it's really a stab in the dark over the internet without seeing it.
@@Shedtune_Russ I’ve managed to get a spark on the ht lead but no spark on plug when fitted, I’ve two different Ngk caps two different ngk rated plugs all are new. My timing is set at 24 degrees as it’s the sport vape, a friend suggested to restart timing to 23 degrees
@@mikecowdrey2891 if it’s sparking at the plug then it should be sparking in the cylinder. Check else where, fuel etc.
@Shedtune_Russ no spark on plug just spark on the HT lead. I've tried 2 caps and plugs
