Heres to your brother man. Anyone who doesn't have brothers has absolutely no clue how strong brothers love is. To lose that is....well...after how many years it's still bringing a 20 year British Marine to tears. I'm a U.S.A. force recon Marine scout sniper and I can tell you British Marines are hard as fuc&. Thanks for this episode man. Definitely one of your best.
I remember the SEAL's coming to Hamworthy for some SBS training, they marched on in seeing these scruffy chaps just lounging about and it took half a day to have them chaps visiting absolutely bursting at the seams and hating on the scruffy lot, they would leave different chaps wiser by a long yard.
That thing looks like a blast to ride.Brave man riding a RD YVPS 350 powered scooter on wheel barrow tyres 💪💪💪Thanks for the 2stroke content max and the story behind this machine
Remember there's a racing series in Italy for scooters. Malossi, Polini & Athena all have entries. The classes are super competitive, witth 100cc pocket rockets putting out over 25-30hp Also check out the drag racers.
That would frighten me to get aboard that but what a Fine Tribute to Jamie and I’m sure he’s up above saying to everyone look what my Brother’s been and done for me 🤗🤛💨😁
What a wonderful story and machine I fully appreciate this as I put a TZ350G in the road 30 years ago and currently riding a Monkey Bike but its a TS125 twin Suzuki Stinger powered with expansions.
In 1986 I was 16. My dad offered me his 1973 RD 350. I turned him down. I thought it was too old. He gave the bike to a so called friend. Who parted it out. It was a running fully functioning bike. All these years later. I am still kicking myself in the butt!!!!
This has been done before, one of these we created back in 1988 with a 450 kit on the power valve engine. Also one of the group had a GPZ1100 lump with a turbo. Nice clean well engineered conversion nice job
When you see a loud scooter with 2 massive pipes blowing smoke all the way, that is far from being unsuspecting The craziest 2 stroke scoot I have seen so far
The Yamaha 350 twin 2 stroke engines are so much fun. I had a blast riding the Banshee that my brother used to have. I also had a friend who put one of them in a golf cart which was a truly terrifying experience. Very cool scooter, thanks for sharing Jed!
I had Li Frame with a 225, engine AF exhaust, 34mm Amal Powerjet Carb and that scared me to death, this is something else. Such a beautifully engineered bike and a real tribute to your Bruv, thank you for your service Jed.
Fair play to you mate biggest respect for the service and the power of love for the brother you lost ,, scooter is awesome,,☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland
I have ridden the RD125LC , an RD 200 air cooled, and always had a hankering for an RD 350…. And I’ve always loved scooters These days I have a Hayabusa I pootle about on, but I love scooters and I’d love this one. Thanks for showing it off mate and god bless your brother - please know he took your love with him
Great video and story Max. Like you guy's, I'm a bit of a sucker for anything 2 stroke, the sound of that sweet 350 is a soundtrack of my youth. Keep the variety in your content, it is what sets you guy's apart
Back in the day there was a scooter race series, scouts honour! Quite a few had RD motors and other 2t transplants. The racing was brilliant, absolute mayhem. Great that you featured this beautiful Scoot, cheers.
Back in the day? There still is, incredibly well supported too. Classes for every type of scooter imaginable from classic Vespas and Lambrettas in every capacity and all stages of tune as well as all the newer twist 'n go automatics.
I took my Primavera round Lydden Hill track a few times in the eighties, man I was awful and my poor little primmy got pretty beat up, bought it for £150 from a chap who spent fortunes getting it tuned up and built by Midland Scooter Centre and Taffspeed, first day I rode it went at it thinking "its only a 125"... flipped it over on my back the wheelie was so powerful turned turtle on me and I could wheelie in all gears and rarely used first cos of the turtling lol
Class build ,love it ,the colour is nice ,absolutely stunning Jed,l bet it’s stunned a few other riders as it flys off ,leaving just that two stoke smell and smoke😎
Even the standard lambrettas go a bit of get up and go I could only imagine this little weapon 😂 most fun you'll have is on a small cc 2 stroke you ring the neck of it everywhere lol rip to his bro Jamie aswell
as an RD350 & RD250 fanatic and owner I 100% approve and love this build, have considered something similar and a few other builds with the Yamaha 250 & 350 engine platform that'll hopefully come to fruition fairly soon. 😈🤙
The second one I’ve seen on TH-cam in a wk , a scoot with a rd 350 motor , but really a death trap with tiny wheels , however thumbs up for the work , thought and scratching heads , a lot of spanner works , blood sweat and tears , cheers shane uk
I'm disappointed sorry 4t it was the one that was on top gear ....because I knew the person who actually build a lambretta rd350 ypvs .he lived in preston I use to visit. Him with all the blue prints on his wall ..but this is a nice story about your brother....its the same colour as well as .....RESPECT for your service
Sweet & Dandy M8! I strictly convert my Vintage Lambrettas and Vespas to Electric. I like the 419 nm of torque and 0-100 kph in 2.2 seconds and the top speed of 165 kph silent but violent! Nicely done bruv scoot on!
What a nice bit of kit and a tribute to your bro you can’t beat the sound of a 350 LC when the power valve opens and then the ploom of blue smoke I had a 350 ypvs and spent most of the time on the back wheel how do you keep it down when the reeds open keep on biking mate
Wicked show, enjoy watching all your antics with 2 strokes. Grew up knowing the Thompson bros, this is a lovely tribute for Jamie from Jed. Jamie,s crazy and infectious laugh could always be heard in the TALBOT Jamie,s local ;-)
My stock RD350 seized which wasn't a bad thing. Overbore, jetted carbs, Basani expansion chambers. This bike came up violently in 1st and smoothly in 2nd with no pulling. I did the work myself apart from the $12 per hole bore, pretty easy and super fun.
What a great story and such a great build ;). Having owned an RD 350 in the 80s I'm sure trying to keep that little front wheel down on the tarmac will not be easy when the lights turn green ;)
Quite a few Vespa conversions around with supersports in-line 600cc fours. Usually located in the footwell as in this one: th-cam.com/video/wkVtCxkPDmo/w-d-xo.html
Nice bike, and an awesome tribute to his brother. As soon as I passed my test just after my 18th birthday, I bought new RD350 LC (red & white), loved it sooo much. About 18months later, the dealer I got it from called me to ask if I'd be interested in a brand new RD 500 LC, and of course I said yes. About a week later I was riding home on my 500 LC 'Marlboro', which was one of the last official 100 commissioned. I was totally gutted when it got wrecked during 'the hurricane of 1987' after our chimney fell directly on top of it 😭 My dad & I were only outside a few mins beforehand, checking things were secure, so it could've been much worse, but still, why did it have to land on my pride & joy? It was a beast to ride, and so much fun. I had it "run in" in 3 days, and I'd put over 10,000 miles on it in less than 6 months. I used Castrol R545 oil in it, and it smelt glorious. I must have looked after & rode it well, as not even the rival Suzuki 500 Gammas could beat mine 😎 Can you tell how much I miss it? 😉
This the second one I've seen now I met a guy last year who had a rd350 conversation last year and had his painted in the famous yellow and black Rd paint job
Visually its absolutely beautiful and the engineering is amazing what a machine . I love the old scooters and hopefully one day I can afford one to enjoy
" Where ya gonna put a steering dampener? Put it here ( on the said dangerous at 130mph scooter) and you'll lose all your dials." True rider right here. This should be a scooter minimum standard. Great job
Bikes (a scooter here, I'll let it go for once) aren't biological living creatures, but the amount of emotions and memories they can carry is endless. Quite the case here. Thank you Jed for sharing.❤ I would be a little concerned about cornering clearance driving that thing on the open road. In city driving though, I can imagine how many smiles I would put on people's faces.😁
Heres to your brother man. Anyone who doesn't have brothers has absolutely no clue how strong brothers love is. To absent friends 🍻

unfortunately not all brothers are good for anything...
God bless Jed for such an amazing tribute to his brother 👌🏻

Theyve been about since around 1989,originally the Alan Rosa 350,ridden one myself back 8n about 95 ,yes insane bit of kit
Wheel barrow tyres mmm that’s a little far off the mark

Should've Could've Would've. But, you didn't. ☹
This has been done before, one of these we created back in 1988 with a 450 kit on the power valve engine. Also one of the group had a GPZ1100 lump with a turbo. Nice clean well engineered conversion nice job
Now that's real love and immense respect for his brother Jamie, Jed's a top man for doing this scooter, sorry for your loss Jed.
Thanks for taking the time to comment Adam. I know Jed will be made up by all the awesome messages like this.

Touching story and a absolute piece of art. What a incredible build.

Last thing I was expecting when I clicked on this video was for it to get that emotional... Beautiful build, beautiful tribute
Never been a fan of Lambretta/Vespa platform, but that build is simply stunning. Huge respect to Gary & Jed for this crazy project.

@@terrycolley6482 That is excellent to hear! I no longer live in the UK and the racing scene here is limited in comparison.

Nothing like a 2stroke twin, reminded me of the fun I had on my RG250 Suzuki back in the day. Mighty nice build this scooter.
