Hi Matt, I’ve just found your channel. Thank you for a very informative video. I have needed to change the blade on the same saw as yours for a long time but couldn’t work out how to do it. One thing you didn’t cover is how to a-line the blade vertically l know it’s not square but again can’t work out how to do it. I’ve tried to a-line it using a square against the deck and blade but the teeth on the blade get in the way. Your help would be much appreciated. Cheers, Graham
Hi Graham Thank you for supporting my channel, glad the content is helpful. I have never had a problem with the vertical alignment on my saw. I have been asked about it previously, and I intend to update this video in future. I will keep you updated with the latest version Best regards Matt
No worries, I had noticed the light was not great, I had to ask the fella at the camera store what was going on. Thanks for pointing that out, it's good to know where to improve the video quality.
Hi I recently got an LS1013 which is missing the lock off button so I’m not able to run it yet. Waiting on replacement part. Also cannot figure out how to lift the arm saw blade is down. Will go through the manual. Any suggestions for cleaning or maintenance I can do while I’m waiting for the part?
Hi Gregory, sorry I only just got notification of your comment. The saw blade is held down by a pin in the arm. I have covered it in the end of this video (I think) th-cam.com/video/SJ4jWCm4KUA/w-d-xo.html All the best Matt
Do you lubricate the table as well? I have the battery operated Makita, and I noticed that when it is cold, the table is a little hard to move side to side.
You mean the underside of the table, where the angle settings are? Then yes. I use a WD40 grease, works a treat. Just to be clear, I don't put any product on the actual machine bed where there is contact with the timber.
@@CesarGarcia-ep8tt I clean the saw with the vacuum cleaner and compressed air, then I use the grease. I also have a dry lubricant for machine parts. You can use that instead if you prefer.
Most of the rust cleans off easily enough. I had problems with some pitted rust really small areas. Some people recommend citric acid, or rust remover. I am not an expert on that. I have cleaned up the slides as best as possible and used WD40 grease. They run really smoothly now.

Do you have a video on how to square up the 45 degree bevel and the 45 degree miter?
I never had that problem with this machine, but I will look into it soon.
