Looking for a new vehicle since we're about to be a part of five and this is by far the best review of the carnival that I have seen on the internet. Great job and thanks for all the info!
Glad they are finally offering a hybrid, this would definitely be the minivan I get if I were to. Very premium, lots of tech and features, spacious, efficient, and doesn’t look like your average minivan. Plus, the motor is very good, the 1.6T hybrid. I haven’t had to replace any of those engines, not to mention the 3.5 V6 in the standard gas one. Great engine also. And I love that they dropped the 6 Speed DCT that they offered on the Tuscon/Sportage/Sonata/Elantra Hybrids. Now they are using a 6 speed conventional auto for longevity in the carnival hybrid. Just wish it came with AWD. It would sell like hotcakes with AWD.
Tucson/Sportage & Sonata/K5 do not use DCTs in their hybrid forms. They all have the same trusted 6 speed auto as the Carnival Hybrid that's been used in the Sonata Hybrid since 2011. As for the (dry) 6 speed DCT that's in the Elantra/Kona/Niro, it's at its best when paired with hybrid tech, but it's horrible without it. I hope H/K move this hybrid tech to the next gen Venue/Soul and let the next gen Elantra/Kona/Niro get their larger siblings hybrid transmission and pair it with the Nu 2.0 engine to keep up with the Toyota Prius.
@@JT-fq2bl Hopefully KIA America/Canada voice for the KIA Soul for the North American market. Apparently the Soul has been discontinued in the South Korean market for some years already. The Niro/Kona and the local Korean model called the KIA Ray (a compact boxy car) do pretty well there.

Love the amber light DRLs. Glad Kia is embracing it is part of their distinctive design language. Wish Hyundai did Amber DRLs too. Always preferred the long amber DRLs of the gen 1 telluride over the 2 dots on the gen 2. Just like you said glad they went with a hybrid on this one. Hoping it beats out Toyota’s 36 MPGs combined. Disappointed no AWD. As for the exterior I still wish they were able to integrate the rear door track into the black cladding under the windows like the Toyota sienna does instead of in the body panel. Also, I’m still not a fan of the chrome detail on the C pillar. Maybe the night package would black it out to give the roof a more floating look but doubtful the package would black out this detail (the blacked-out trims in the 2024 model leave this chrome). No cars need exterior chrome cladding/trim anymore. Black and gunmetal would be nice. Could be fixed with a vinyl wrap on that pillar though. One thing I don’t like about the design language that both Kia and Hyundai seem to be going with are these super light-colored interiors. I can live with the blue plastic on this Carnival, but that whitish gray is garbage for little kids. They are going to get dirtied and scuffed up in no time flat. They need a nice brown, something like the Terracotta leather or Mahogany leather on the telluride. That would look great in contrast to the blue plastic interior. Paddle shifters are odd with the 6 speed automatic. Usually they only have it on their Dual clutch transmission vehicles. Are you sure they aren’t for regen braking? Should have power telescoping and tilt steering wheel adjustment for the top trim. Not a fan of the dial shifter, wish they could do the column shifter Hyundai is doing now.
AWD effects such a small percentage of people that its not worth the cost to implement. AWD is actually really expensive to put into vehicles. It would raise the price the to an unnecessary amount. The Hybrid addition is totally worth it though.

@@00_UUBS. snow tires and front wheel drive is BS. first off certain roads in the US won’t ALLOW you to go up the road with your stupid FWD and silly snow tires ! ALL WHEEL DRIVE is the way to go especially if you truly live in Alaska! No fwd car with snow tires will survive where hills thrive. PA is a perfect example.
Someone else made the mistake of saying to a guy in the comments you don’t need awd and it’s a waste. Just to find out that you CANT have fwd and snow tires to drive that road BUT you can have all seasons and AWD. FOR good reason. It simply works. And you can’t debate a awd System WITH snow tires. Awd is never not needed.
@@Natethegreat200c snow tires and FWD is enough in Alaska. What people like you fail to understand is braking. No AWD will help when you slide on black ice. They plow roads in Alaska, but do not salt them. Winter tires are a must have.
Mpg guess would be nice. Bet you could guess well!:)
Kia basically just said eff you to all of Canada. Why alienate such a huge portion of your possible buyers? It's not only people in the north that want AWD either.
Sienna is the one 👑
Should of dropped the 2.5 turbo with 8 speed automatic.
The 3.5 V6 is a better engine for how big and heavy this vehicle is. The 2.5 liter would have got the same gas mileage as the V6.
Is this different than the sorento?
Same platform I think or at least it wears the same face as the Sorento. It's definitely on the same platform as the Telluride and Palisade. Don't know if Sorento made the cut.
Gonna give you more passenger room than a Sorento and easier step-in height (for kids). That's the difference.
Also a larger and deeper cargo area and better more usable 3rd row.@@devongee1776
Its bigger…
This is really nice but i just don’t understand a white interior in a minivan. It’s going to age like milk.
Small engine for that weight. I don't need that. Thanks.
Finally!!!!!
Honda Odyssey still king 🤴
🔥🔥🔥
Is this Kia boys proof?
It is so gorgeous, but no AWD. KIA come on....
Why do you need AWD? No one needs AWD, useless option that adds weight, price and maintenance.
Most people don't need AWD.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Something is not right. They did this refresh b/c it wasn't selling in the US compared to Sienna or the Odyssey or the Pacifica. But he is reporting otherwise.
Ingat review melayu la tadi. Muka melayu😅
Looks ugly now. Previous generation was so handsome looked better than most suvs
1.6L engine is going to work hard with 6 people + luggage. Not going to last 150,000+ miles like Honda/Toyota.
The engine isn't going to do all of the work though. It's paired to an electric motor
It' not a 1.6L engine, 1.6 turbo engine which is same 2.4L engine. And That hybrid engine is adopted many vehicles like Sorento hybrid, K8 hybrid in domestic south Korea for years 🎉🎉🎉
Please educate yourself before posting it's assisted by the electric motor did you even listen?
It’s turbocharged + electric motor. More than enough. Let’s talk about the N/A 2.5 Toyota uses…plus if you are so concerned abt the hybrid longevity, get the regular 3.5L V6 Gas. Not that hard.
Yes it will. It may be a little noisier and might work harder than in the Sportage but it seems like they’ve tuned it well to get the most out of it.
Mazda needs to bring back the MPV again
MAZDAS ARE CRAP
I think Mazda are pretty good, but my only with them is they are a form over function car brand. I have to agree Mazda should bring back the Mazda 5 or a larger MPV. I did a road trip in a 2nd gen Mazda 5 from NC to CA to FL and it managed to swallowed everything we carried from CA. The FE was decent, but I loved how responsive the transmission is when going up and down the mountains on I-8 in CA. It's a pity that Mazda killed the off, because this and the Soul are the only vehicles I like.
This carnival looks better and the new santafe the worst designs ever looks like funeral box 📦
First to watch🎉
Electric. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Slowwwwwwwwwww....
Still a POS Hyundai!!!
Can't preheat in a closed garage, pacifica wins again
Pacifica also has the lowest reliability rating 4 years in a row and have many electrical problems.
Heads up display?
1.6 T good for civic
