Oh I so want to find a sweet Orvis edition.. all I know is the next ZJ I'm getting will have the factory tow package for the 3.73 gears and limited slip rear end, and a 4.0 with Selec-trac.. already have a lift and extended shocks sitting nib for it..

I can get about 1/2 way up the sand hill on my 17 excf 450. Needs to rain for a bike to get up. The camera does the hill no justice it's steep and the sand is crazy fine.
Still very impressive that the ZJ on short arms has done everything and more that the XJ has done on long arms.

4:25. The BASE jumper had to land on the road. Everywhere over there is either jungle thick tamarisk or ankle breaker rocks. Years ago I saw a guy standing on the roof of his VW bus trying to pick his parachute out of a tamarisk bush/tree with an ice scraper for extra reach.
Bent bumpers are no problem. When I was young and full of vigor I backed my dad's truck onto a hill. There was no visible damage, but the bumper wouldn't let the tailgate open. I grabbed the sledgehammer out of the bed of the truck and persuaded that bumper back into its proper place with only the slightest resistance. My dad never noticed and I never mentioned it.
Both performed great. I like the ZJ, enjoyed the build of it more and love the way it looks and flexes. Great video series!
Keep the transmission topped off with ATF+4. Clearly the ZJ won, going up that "buggy" line. Everyone in the video acknowledged it. And coming down? The ZJ won just with style points. ZJ was the first one up sand hill. Even though I have newer 4X4's, I haven't found anything funner to drive than my 5.9 ZJ; and, yeah, it can power out of lot's of problems. You may even have to stop calling it a S##T-Box.

This trail and the Poison spyder trail are my favorite Moab Utah trails to run. Haven't been there since Jeep Jamboree 2017!!! Need to go back and hit them again!! Gotta love the sand hill climb one of my favorites on this run.
Ppl out there what is a better Build xj or a zj let me know wanting to build something that can handle the Appalachian mountains

I just watched again! It’s so nice to see Matt, Holly, Colt and the other genuinely enjoying themselves. Listening to Holly make fun of Matt as he goofy danced- that’s stuff that happens in real life that makes relationships so much fun. Just the genuine honest goofball normalcy of this makes it fun. We don’t get enough “silly” in our adult lives. As humans we need hugs and laughter in equal proportion to our stress and anxiety. You are finding that happy medium with the blending of your jobs with activities that you enjoy. I became a charterboat captain against all warnings from my family- now who’s smiling?

I love the channel and it’s nice to see the interaction between Matt and Holly, like when they’re home and she prepares a lunch for Matt, Josh, and Holly to sit and eat together as a short break from the days adulting. The first 10 years of doing the Rim, we did it only at night in my full size Bronco. I didn't know how sketchy it was till I did it in my YJ in the daylight.

4:00 Do these guys have even basic ROPE RESCUE/REPELLING EQUIPMENT and basic first-aid supplies. Would be awful to see a friend's vehicle fall to a lower level and not be able to get down to help.

My best friends girlfriend wanted it, snuck up on me in the garage while I was working on my rc crawler. They got it for 3k. The price some of us pay to get friends into the sport. We live about 30 mins away from where KOH takes places. So they got it just in time. ❤ I haven't touched the money since (literally touched)... feels dirty 🤣🤣 and my kids hate me. Lmao

@@bleepinjeep i fixed the mistake, found a stock 98 4.0, yoke axle shafts, yoke front drive line with tons of maintenance done over the years 210,xxx miles $2500, and literally had my buddy chase it down with his 4.0 after it drove past haha. Wildly clean and another perfect start. I'm like a flippin kid right now!
BK Matt seemed to have upgraded a bit more than you. I wouldn't call it cheating, but it doesn't seem the fairest. Maybe I'm biased though. If you're a BK fan let me know what you think. Both these Jeeps are quite nice, though.

I agree, coming down is so sketchy. I had to tow my Brother in Law off that trial. He blew out his clutch taking out his crank position sensor, so the Jeep couldn't start or run. I had to drag him almost all the way out, as it happened soon after you turn around to head back. Going down is hard enough, towing someone down is much harder. Something I don't want t do again! lol
This makes me love my 88xj even more. I think the zj won that day by a hair.
How does this stack up to the Rubicon Trail. I did it in my non lifted TJ on 31’s and a locker that was leaking. It was my first time rock crawling.
In the most capable rig there probably and she was white knuckled on that down hill lol Great video but, man it feels like I'am watching fx with all the commercials. I understand the regular add revenue but, this is a bit much.
