So many guys with 96-98 ZJs swapping out their 249 t-cases for 231s.. Why? Why go with a significantly weaker t-case? Just because everybody else does it? The issues the 249 had with the VCs were all fixed for the 96 model year. If your ZJ is 96 or newer, you are MUCH better off with the 249. It already has the 6 gear planetary and the extra wide chain. It is just a bigger, better t-case than the 231. And the full time 4wd is great in ice and snow if you live in that part of the country. If you really must swap out your t-case, at least go with something that is actually beefier and better. The 241 from the JK can bolt right on if you get the right year. Or get an atlas, or a Dana 300, or something along those lines.
Haha, nice... Been trying to find/buy property around Coos Bay for over a year. Fukn love it there. If I end up out there with my XJ I'll definitely be out in the sand!
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anybody know a method to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow lost the login password. I love any assistance you can offer me!
@Christopher Lukas Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Sweet! I just finally found and bought what seems to be the perfect ZJ that I have wanted for a long time now, selectrac straight 6 cylinder but just doesn't have the factory tow package, though I think it still might have the 3.73 axle gearing that comes with the tow package equipped zjs and if so then it could have the limited slip in the rear end too which would be AWESOME!! anyway, I'm just going to install the 3" budget lift extended shocks I've had sitting new in the box for a few years now, install a super sick few amps and high end subs with something like a 7inch touch screen multimedia head unit and a 2nd battery for the stereo AND to help power the inverter I'll install as well! Then it's just getting a few more recovery gear items and making sure it's all set up for exploring, camping and some light 4 wheeling! *Oh and figure if I can grab a cheap set of 16" ZJ wheels then I will hopefully get a set of 245/75r16 Mud Terrain tires for it, or even just something like 30x9.5r15's in a Mud terrain.. LOVE My ZJ Grand Cherokee's!!
To each his own! I hated my 4.0 zj I had before this. Gutless and constantly had issues. This 5.2 has been very very reliable, and makes decent power. And sounds way better of course😂
Yeah, my last zj was a '98 5.9 which I loved BUT, it was a rediculous gas hog, and the 5.2 it had in it gave me Soo much grief plus it had tranny problems after the guys that build transmissions at the shop I worked at rebuilt it for me and did something wrong- so that zj was just a waste of like $1500 and a bunch of time.. Now the '97 4.0 I just bought seems like it's going to be the perfect one to build up how I want it! Man I'm psyched to get started, well heck, I'll be happy just to get a couple of subwoofers and amps and the rear 2nd battery with 0 gauge feeding it from the main starting battery
Hey, great video/channel!! I'm local here to coos bay and am on a jeep page. We are meeting April 3rd and would love to have you. Let me know if your interested.
Yeah your way better off making your own if you have access to a welder. In my opinion ALL of the zj bumpers out there for purchase are really ugly, and grossly overpriced.
holy shit man I'm doing a budget zj build and this build just rocked my world. Oh how this project is gonna keep me broke.
Nice, I used to live in Lincoln City and have a 98 ZJ Limitedb 5.9er. Love seeing the footage of Coo's bay sometimes I miss Oregon!

LOVE My ZJ Grand Cherokee's!!
@@BabyCharlotteschannel I'm doing something similar but on 35's. How's the build coming along I'd love to see it.
Hi. It's a cool Jeep! For my ZJ I built a suspension with the same arms system, only without coilovers, too expensive)
Fkn send it brother!! Love it
🤙
Sick build, I want to put seats like that in my XJ, do you have a link?
Freaking Unit man!!!
Sweet Jeep. What muffler is that? I need something that size so I can do the rear long arms on my my zj
It’s a beyea header muffler off summit
Be perfect if it had a 4.0 that's what my 98 Grand Cherokee has I've had 2 others with the 5.2 I wouldn't trade my 4.0 for anything!

Low buck garage sells the parts
What spring rate front and rear he using on those coil overs?
What front bumper would you recommend for the zj or do I gotta customize one

What kind of tube bender did he have?
The affordable bender
Sweet build, but why does he talk SOOOO QUIET? 😂
A 318 from 98 how uncool , clicked on it thinking it was LSx swap lol step ur game up
🤡
