Exactly. At the very least it needs to be the best selling paper mario. However I think 10 million copies sold is the real magic number. At that point, Nintendo wouldn’t have a choice but to move forward with the TTYD style since there will be a huge financial incentive
My biggest worried is that if they make an new Nintendo console next year the same time or nearly when this remake comes out and people would buy an new system rather than the game. Which is not a good move.
We may have won yesterday, but WE CANNOT STOP THERE. For the future of Mario RPGs, both of these remakes (Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door), we gotta show Nintendo, Square, and those involved with making these games that YES.. we want MORE. We wanna see new games that can build upon such a foundation. ❤
First off we need to keep viewing the trailer so it can make it number one trending on gaming that will be a first sign to Nintendo And second all the paper Mario fans needs buy this game and almost every person who has a switch that never heard or play ttyd to get this game ..And if it be origami King I think Nintendo would make paper Mario returned to its original roots .. but like you said it's up to the fans now Nintendo got our attention it's up to us
I perssonally disagree with your takes guys, and I gonna explain why Modern Paper Mario its actually *better* than old Paper Mario Prepare yourselves for an earth-shattering revelation that will change your perception of the gaming universe forever: "Modern Paper Mario" is unequivocally superior to those dusty old classics from the past. 3D Graphics = 3D Fun: Forget those quaint, flat paper worlds of the past. Modern Paper Mario has embraced the third dimension, and it's a game-changer! Who needs charming 2D aesthetics when you can have the mind-bending complexity of 3D? The only thing better than one dimension is three dimensions! A Masterpiece of Simplicity: Old Paper Mario games were all about strategy, complex partner abilities, and depth. Boring! Modern Paper Mario knows that simplicity is the key to success. One-button combat? Yes, please! Let's make sure even a toddler can conquer the game with ease. No Need for Memorable Characters: Why bother with memorable characters and witty dialogue when we can have generic toads and Bowser (again)? Modern Paper Mario proves that character development is overrated. Let's focus on the important stuff, like not having fun. All Hail the Sticker System: Who wants to hoard a rich inventory of items when you can have a sticker-based economy? Modern Paper Mario proudly boasts the most illogical and confusing item system ever conceived. Your success now depends on your ability to peel and stick! Story? Who Needs It! Remember when Paper Mario games had engaging, epic stories that kept you invested from start to finish? Those were dark times. Modern Paper Mario knows that a convoluted plot is just a distraction. Who cares why we're saving the world? Let's just do it! Conclusion: It's abundantly clear that "Modern Paper Mario" is the true masterpiece in the series, leaving the old classics in the dust. With its groundbreaking 3D graphics, simple gameplay, lack of memorable characters, sticker-based item system, and disdain for intricate storytelling, Modern Paper Mario paves the way for a new era of gaming. I just wonder what the next new Paper Mario will be like. They were so determined on their new action-adventure style, making 3 games with it. Are they just going to throw this remake out there, then make a-a style number 4? Or are they learning that this is what Paper Mario should be and make a true TTYD sequel?
I think Pyoro new about the ttyd remake but he just didn't want to spoil it because he knew how big and surprised it would have been and I'm glad he didn't leak it so big props to him
TTYD remake trailer has more than 4 times the likes compared to the Color Splash reveal trailer. Origami King's trailer also has 4 times more likes than TTYD though. That's going to be hard to beat.
the fact that all they NEEDED to do was port it in widescreen because the original game holds up so well, but no... they decided to give the game the love and care it deserves!! I'm so excited.
For those of you who don't know, Kensuke Tanabe is notorious for turning a blind eye to us fans. He values Miyamoto a lot, whom which wants the Mario world to be a flanderized marketable set piece. He stuck to the rules that don't exist because he wanted to make Miyamoto happy rather than pay Paper Mario proper respect. And who knows? If this game breaks enough sales, we'll have proven to Nintendo that YES, THIS is what we've been clamoring for for 17 years.
I think they are going to the classic style reasons why this is probably going to sell way better than origami king second for how faithful it is I doubt they would go back and three I think they found a mixture how defuse both together because remember even though we want the classic paper, Mario There are some new paper Mario fans I’d like it for the next game if they did the traditional battle from the old games mix it up a bit the feel a little bit like the new games both worlds would love it but I cannot wait to play this. I am so excited for this game. It’s going to be amazing thanks for the video and everyone have a amazing year and God bless you all.
It's nice to see that Nintendo is restoring their own franchises back to their old selves and ditching the gameplay changes that nobody wanted/liked or were very unpopular. With the exception of the mainline 3D Mario games, they've ruined most of their franchises, and its so nice to see them revert them back to their own classic formulas that were more well received and I hope this continues! This applies to the following games: Mario Party: The Top 100 > Super Mario Party > Mario Party Superstars Super Mario 3D Land > Super Mario 3D World > Super Mario Odyssey Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon > Luigi's Mansion 3DS > Luigi's Mansion 3 Metroid Prime: Federation Force > Metroid: Samus Returns > Metroid Dread New Super Mario Bros. 2 > New Super Mario Bros. U > Super Mario Bros. Wonder Paper Mario: Color Splash > Paper Mario: The Origami King > Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Switch Now, if only Pokémon Gen 10 could go back it's style from gens 1-5 and ditch the wussy babiefied gameplay that has plagued the series since X&Y then people would stop bitching and saying "Pokémon is dead"!
First of all, Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon is on the 3DS originally, there was no middle step between it and Luigi's Mansion 3. Secondly while Gen 5 is my favorite, I think it's a little silly to complain that a game that was designed for kids/everyone is trying to be more accessible to kids/everyone.
I don't mind if the enemies look the same as in the rest of the series, because I feel like it makes the world more coherent. In my mind, the compromise is the continued presence of things like Clefts, Koopatrols and so on.
Tbh the fact that the trailer showcase for this game hasn’t even gotten at least a million views by now kind of makes me worried that this game might not sell as well as The Origami King, which might give Nintendo/Intelligent Systems the wrong idea that not as many people care for the older Paper Mario games as much as the newer ones. When Origami King’s trailer was revealed, it got at least a million views in one day and was even trending. I’m really hoping this game sells even better than The Origami King so that Nintendo/Intelligent Systems will be more likely to give us new Paper Mario games in the same style as the older ones.
Even with the other, modern-style Paper Mario games, i did always feel like there was a small rag-tag group of unsung heroes at Intelligent systems who were listening to the fans at least somewhat and tried to fight tooth and nail to get as many of these things into the games that fans wanted as they could with the silly restrictions getting in the way and were constantly trying to push that line in the sand back a little further with each game as much as they could. Loved Origami king but it was frustrating to see what i interpreted as certain members of the dev team trying SO HARD to work around the restrictions to make a game that at least somewhat invoked the feelings of the older games to the best of the dev teams abilities, and still at every turn having those restrictions loom over their shoulders and beat them over the head, preventing them from going any further with it. There is technically all the chance in the world that this remake simply isn't the tipping point for the series like we're hoping and as soon as it's done, Miyamoto or Tinabe or whoever is the real cause of all this just goes right back to plugging their ears and goes back to business as usual, feeling they are justified to put the restrictions back in place and undo all the minor bits of progress made in Color splash and Origami king now that they, in their own minds "Gave the fans what they want so now they can't complain" but i am really hoping that isn't the case. Even if that was the idea, i'm hoping much like Pikmin 4, enough people buy this remake and sing it's praises online that regardless Nintendo is forced to listen and this really is the re-turning point of the series,
I'm very scared the game will release on the original switch either right before or right after the new switch comes out and the sales will suffer as a result and Nintendo will blame the poor sales on the game not being popular. We're not fully out of the woods yet, but at the very least, even if they do screw the game over by releasing it at a terrible time, I still get to play this remake.
That's such a vague criteria though. Plenty of well-received games also did not get remakes. Also, people were probably thinking they'd do a remake of the original Paper Mario first, if at all.
Calling Metroid prime remastered a port is fucking wild lol. That’s one of the best performing and looking switch games. It’s basically the perfect re release for that game. Not to discredit ttyd remake though, as it does look great. Definitely on par with Metroid prime remastered.
This game NEEDS to sell extremely well as it will definitely determine Paper Mario's future.
