After Grian and Scar become soulmates, Grian goes after BigB, and Scar’s left with a castle he didn’t want in the first place.

The reason I put Grian as the one who’s wants Scar to stay and “be with here with him” was not out of love, but because the whole reason he forced Scar to live with him was to watch him, keep Scar safe so he could keep *himself* safe and then go after BigB. I see it as him literally putting Scar in a box so he could do what he wants without worrying, because we all know Scar is a death risk (even though he could probably out last him.). Maybe my version of his Double Life character is a bit selfish, but he’s cheater lol!

Also, I feel that Grian is also trapped. Grian wants to be free to be his chaotic self, but he can't because Scar is even more chaotic and he has to be the responsible one. When Scar decides to do something, Grian has to deal with the consequences as his soul mate.
The chain that links them keeps them from being free.

Yeah but its still unconfirmed as to whether Grian is still watcher or part-watcher in the life series. And it's also confirmed (*cries*) by Grian himself that this does not apply in Hermitcraft.
Alright I have a lot to say so YAYYY LORE LOGIC DUMP TIME!
Grian stated in an interview with the podcast "The Spawn Chunks" that the "Watchers" in Evo were meant to represent the people watching Evo. When grian joined them, it was because he was leaving. He was going to be viewing Evo instead of playing, so he counted as a watcher. However, in the life series, he's a player, and doesn't watch his own series or anyone else's I believe, so I am unsure whether watcher-ism is a permanent effect hat either goes dormant or fades when playing, or whether it only applies outside
Lastly, Martyn, who was both a part of Evo and a part of the life series mentioned once that the spectators in these series were "Temporary watchers" which means that watching the series directly while technically being part of it still results in mild watcher-ism. This could mean that Grian, being the farmer Admin of Evo and holding a lot of power could potentially retain a fraction of said watcher-ism when playing.
I have done a LOT of research into this lol.

I love the fact that the song says “everything just come together at last” because it fits well with them since on all the servers their on they’re always very close and alway together but now they are literally bound to each other
Oh gosh the lyrics "looking in your eyes, I'm coming home" are so often in animatics shown with a fond, loving or even sad look, but the blank/scared expression of Grian put shivers down my spine. This isn't a happy couple! They haven't been from the start. They pull and shove and take from one another, especially Grian. This animatic shows that so well!! Bravo!!

Ahhhh I was rewatching and I realized they go yellow BECAUSE GRIAN STRANGLES SCAR, and when Scar punches him you see the starts of red with Grian. Then he kills him off screen and they both turn red. Everything about this is incredible
This timing was PERFECT because yesterday I was looking for Evelyn Evelyn double life animatics! The entire sequence from 2:56-3:19 will always be my favorite part of any song because it’s SO GOOD! I love how you made them fight with the string connecting them and the reminiscing at the beginning was beautifully done! Loved this! 😭😊👍❤️

This is INCREDIBLE!! AHHHHH!! I absolutely love 2:00 till the end!!! To summarize (and theorize!):
Since Grian is canonically one of the Watchers, he had a say in his own destiny when it came to his soulbound in Double Life. He always felt a guilty obligation to care for Scar after he was forced by the undead to fight him to the death in the 3rd life finale. After all, as a Watcher, he basically orchestrated for himself to win from the beginning no matter the cost, but what he didn't realize till after, is that winning wasn't worth losing the relationship he made along the way. So Grian killed himself, trying to escape the guilt that after all, he originally had a say in his destiny to win (no matter what happened in between). That's why Double life was created! In angst, Grian was willing to sacrifice everything for Scar in hopes of internal redemption and a second chance where they can live AND win together. However Scar "never asked for this!" and tries to tell Grian to stop living in the past. That's why Grian went through the five stages of grief in his first double life episode. He wasn't grieving that Scar was his soulbound, he was grieving the death of his own free will and that scar didn't even care to notice the sacrifice he was making for the both of them. The tragedy of it all is that they love each other like brothers and would do anything for each other... however since they are continuously forced to be together, they still struggle for independence and their own identity outside of each other.

I love this interpretation of the upcoming episode ! It also makes sense for the two characters developments so far; Grian wanting so badly to have a soulmate that’s anyone but scar and scar just wanting to do whatever he wants without a bit of care on how grian would be affected.

I love the animatic, I love the fact you used the entire song to build up the conflict, I love the usage of red and green for Grian and Scar, I love the “pulling of the strings” that first Grian and then Scar performs, I love this
I absolutely love this, and when Scar finds out I think it'll be like this situation. I just realized Scar said something about it in ep 4. He's starting to realize but he hasn't had it confirmed though

This is amazing and gorgeous and every little detail was so perfect. The part where they sing about growing up close and then it shows the original 3rd life series, them switching off parts during the chorus throughout the progression of the song, and the parts with the purple eye to signify watcher Grian UGH. MAGNIFICENT. ALSO when they fight by tugging on the string, impeccable, showstopping, unmatched. I literally squealed when I saw this in my recommended. The craftsmanship, the style, the thought, and the amazing ideas that went into this is just. This is so good, especially in such a short time frame. I can't wait to see whatever else you put out and binge watch your other videos.
Also I forgot to mention this, but the line where it says "A parasite needs a host // I'm only trying to do what is best for us" fits their characters so well its unbelieveable. And I love the little detail where you added (with) in the line where it says "Your always trying to be somebody else"

This is truly amazing, just wow. That was so fast, i love the occasional touch of color, the watcher eye on grian's cheek. The inclusion of "scenes" from previous seasons. I love this, it's incredible. The end also might be foreshadowing, which i love too. Continue with your work, it's wonderful, as a young artist i hope to achieve your level someday. The character designs, too! The height of the characters remaining consistant. I'm running out of positive words. It's just so good

Yo. So uh. I've been watching that animatic around fitfteen times already, no exaggeration. This is like the second night i'm crying myself to sleep (but like, in a good way) over it because I just get overtaken by the Feels™. It's entirely and completely perfect, i can't explain it any other way. The song is wonderful, fits so well, the emotion in the singers' voices is breaking my heart. You did an amazing job with it, you had so many great ideas with the scenes and the poses and all that... The art is just wonderful, the care you put into each frame is incredible. I keep watching it i think just to enjoy just how well each frame fits and how good they look. And that conclusion... My heart. Anyways, I can well and truly appreciate just every second you've put into this work of art

i’m a very new viewer of these guys, only started consistently watching them around double life, so i don’t know any backstory from the previous series (What Is A Watcher) but i don’t think i need to in order to appreciate how incredible this animatic is. like the quality stays consistent throughout, the designs are cool (not sure how much of that is accepted canon and how much is original, i’m new, but you draw them so well), and your use of colour in meaningful places is effective as Fuck.
