Once again for those who don't follow me on Twitter, I started a desert duo war... I have no regrets, just sorrows. Anyways, Our lovely Desert Duo is here from Double life to make you cry. I'm only kinda sorry

I absolutely love how everyone draws Grian's eyes in all these animations but you managed to put so much emotion into his little tally marks /pos
IKR those rectangles have no right being that expressive but it’s SO COOL
It's like every professor Layton movie, somehow they manage to always have him have expressions with his eyes and somehow convey thinking without his hands. Yes he too has rectangular eyes
In fact, it's so incredible that such a drama can develop in such a seemingly simple game as Minecraft. I especially love Scar's death in a zombie pit, as if it were a movie. You have a wonderful drawing style, I love all your animations, keep up the good work!
I just realized the symbolism that you did, like how the first time grian encountered the sonic boom of the warden, scar was there to pull him out, but in the end, scar wasn't there to save him. So beautiful.
OOH I got CHILLS when the music got quiet and scar's on his horse, and the effect hit him and the music kicked back in, SUCH a cool part

I like how slowly Grians wings become worse, like they used to be fluffy and white, but by the end they are charred and black!
Just a very interesting detail I don't see anyone talking about atm
I was going to comment on it before I saw yours, it is such an amazing detail, also the fact that his wings had gotten charred because of scar getting blown up, so damn amazing
In every season, it feels like the more this duo is forced by fate to cooperate , the more troublesome the relationship becomes. (I find it kinda interesting that it's always Grian who's in debt to Scar, never the other way around.)
Scars whole thing is getting people in debt to him by shady means lol
I have a theory. maybe grian didn’t want to be soulmates with scar because he didn’t want hurt scar again
3:28 I love the transitions between the seasons showing Grian and scars relationship in each season with the fluid dance moves
Also the three life colors through three seasons was a very cover touch
Showing their final death from Scar’s POV first broke me. Then the final-final death from Scott’s POV, seeing Pearl lunging forward. Brilliant. This whole animatic is fricking gorgeous amazing. Well done!

The part where Scar looks back up at Grian being impressed with the water clutch was so good like a glimmer of hope for them and then you tore my heart out with them dying to the sonic blast. That part was so well done with the pulsing camera shot thing.

Oh my gooooddddd that was absolutely stunning. I love how, intentionally or not, it emphasizes how the two times Scar died Grian was right there just out of reach to help, but when Grian died they had both split off from each other and Scar didn’t even know he was in danger until they were both gone for good. The emotions were beautifully done, their push and pull of hurting each other and yet still being stuck together and working with that comes through so well.
GAAHHHHFfhdkjsfk YOUR DESERTDUO PMVs NEVER FAIL TO AMAZE !!!!! There's something so so special about how you present the parts of the story paired with the editing, like, it all just hits like a gut punch, it's absolutely incredible!! I love how well it shows that scar was there to save him in the beginning ( with the warden) but, the second time when scar wasn’t there Grian died. It shows how much they needed each other but, still felt forced to be together.

And, I love the song- great choice as always! And I have said it before, and I’ll say it again. Your style is so cool, and I love the way you draw Scar. He’s just so.. Scar. And the way you portray everyone is so good. You can really feel the emotions in them, from everyones POV. And to think this all came from little blocky guys that are just having a fun time-

Ok but seriously, the art and the story pacing to the song in this, and how flawlessly interwoven the different timelines are here without it being confusing is seriously amazing. You expanded on so many scenes from the series sooo well and it breaks my heatr in all the best ways. As in the warden scenes for example, them running from it and Grian later dying to it gets more focus and art than they do a lot of the rest of the time. It also makes me feel less bad about their final death being so sudden when people like you make more out of it!! Again the art is fantastic so all the expressions help with all that so much. This pmv really does make me so emotional you have no idea

I really love how these animatics manage to portray Grian's third death to the warden in such as tragic, dramatic way, despite it being one of his least exciting deaths. But I especially love how you depicted the moment, at least initially, from Scar's perspective. That twist, that reversal of expectations, makes this animatic stand out from the crowd.
I am legit crying rn. The sneaky transitions into 3rd life, the emotion, the symbolism, all of it was glorious.
They keep on drifting every season, with the least interactions in secret life.
Wow! I love this so much!!!!🤩 It's exactly what my head cannon is for Desert Duo: 3rd Life they were happy together, Last Life they were separate and unstable, in Double Life Grian was scared of Scar hurting himself and repeating 3rd Life, and then Limited Life Grian kinda wants to be with Scar and watches his feats from afar, but gets dragged away by the Bad Boys.

Grian's wings being burnt/skeletal in his red life was such a good touch aaaaaa
My designs have his wings kinda, rotting away because of their zombie death, and then the explosion finishing off what's left. But I didn't get a chance to show his yellow design in this one at all T^T

In duoble life him dying lead to scar dying so if you think about it, he killed scar🧐🤔

I love how you drew their relationship and how it progresses through out Double life + their past memories of them in other life series. I promise i tried really hard, but at the end i still couldn't hold my tears back. The last scene was what broke me down, actually. 😭

the scene where it showed both grian and scar dead, I noticed something. at the beginning of it all, grian had his signature RED sweater and scar had a GREEN cloth tied around his arm. when we see them dead in the same shot, grian had a GREEN bandana around his neck and scar's arm cloth had turned RED. don't know what it means exactly, but it's cool.
They switched and wore the other persons on their red life :)

i was not expecting to sob violently today and yet here we are please never stop making videos
THE PARALLELS OF 2:21 AND 4:14 ARE CRAZY- JUST LIKE THEIR RELATIONSHIP THROUGHOUT THE REST OF THE LIFE SERIES, THEY DRIFTED APART IN DEATH DISTANCE AND IN THEIR ACTUAL RELATIONSHIP.
When they are apart (emotionally or literally), they die quicker. Third Life (Grian's jump after the death of Scar in the ring). Last Life (Grian dies to Scott shortly after Scar gets shot). Double Life (The warden kills Grian, killing them both). And the animation shows it, but despite that they're still drifting further and further away.
The distance between their deaths is growing, their relationship is suffering, and they're all dying really fast because of separation.
EDIT: ok I explained this weird- despite the distance between them growing, the times of their death are still really similar, always being in the same episode, showing how they're still intrinsically tied even with their differences.
