What I really wanted for Sonic X Shadow Generations was to have at least the inclusion of the 3DS stages remixed to the console edition, and an extension to cover game up until the Forces era, along with the Shadow content. Even beyond that, I've always just wanted a "complete" edition of the game. Base Gens, and 3DS all rolled into one.
Ain’t going to lie. I mean if you think about it, it would be a great opportunity for them to bring even more stages from the Sonic’s past into SXS Generations. I mean if they brought back Shadow complete with his own stages from the past, along with both Sonic’s getting the drop dash, then it would make sense Sonic should get his own beyond Colors instead of the usual Sonic 1 to Colors stages since we’ve long since passed Colors. I mean it literally came out in 2010 for crying out loud.
@@TheMainMii Yeah, man. If Sonic Team was smart, they’d do this. That and it would suck as hell if you can’t carry over Mods from the OG Generations into SXS Gens. Actually if I’m going to be honest, PC version of Gens is the best version of the game no question. And I think you already know why. Best graphical fidelity, smooth 60fps, little to no load times and mods if that wasn’t obvious enough.
Excellent review man. I always thought Generations 3DS could hage been a lot more unique if Modern Sonic actually played like the Adventhre titles. I'm not even asking for boost gameplay, just moving forward in a 3D space. They did it in Lost World 3DS, after all.
I regret not having these games in my younger years, now i get to make up for what i didnt have. Will deff use this as a guide to what to expect on them
I only have the 3Ds version of Generations, and I like it a lot. I actually found the game to be quite challenging, especially the later special stages. I like how they gave Classic Sonic the homing attack. Also, the Modern and Classic Sonic stages are quite different from each other, since the Classic stages are more platform focuses, while the Modern stages are more focused on timing boosts and homing attacks correctly.
I feel bad for dimps when they were making this, sega rushed them to push this out with less than a year of development. A theory I had was that gens 3ds was gonna have dlc for the 3 rival fights, where you can play as all 3 rivals like in sonic 4 episode 2, it could also explain the inclusion of both the biolizard fight and radical high in gens 3ds since the rush stage could have originally be huge crisis from rush, but due to the rushed development they weren’t able to make it happen. Look at other dimps games sonic colors ds had extra content in the form of special stages & missions, sonic 4 had episode metal, but that’s just a theory of mine about this rushed anomoly.
I’m still bewildered how Super Mario 64 can run smoothly on an original DS, with better graphics, multiple playable characters, and more content than the original. While the 3Ds couldn’t have Unleashed styled 3D stages for Sonic Generations. That utterly confuses me. 😂
Sonic Generations 3DS was one of the launch titles for the 3DS so there was very little experience with the system and it didn't help the this version of the game was incredibly rushed (like Sonic 06)
I wish they just made a port of the HD version to the Wii or Wii U instead of making a half-baked 3DS version. (They even could've made it for DS instead of the 3DS as Dimps already had knowledge of the DS hardware, could've easily reuse the Sonic Advance and Rush series' sprites and polish them a bit, maybe get the old Genesis/Mega Drive sprite tiles and polish/redo them for the DS, and that way, they could've had more time to add more content, and it would've had a larger userbase since DS users could've played it in addition to 3DS users via backwards compatibility).
Im gonna make a prediction- sxs generations will get dlc that has it that will release in 2025. Also if they font add these stages to base generations AND the special stages AND the exclusive songs AND the custom card thing... then itd just be 8/10 for me. Watch as these get added as dlc tho. In 2025. XD i already predicted alot of stuff... so I'm 98% certain these will be added in some way, just not in the base game. 5:44
@@TheMainMii well your video is correct. Though classic sonic earns the homing attack in phase 3 of the game. Basically third cutscene. I own the 3ds version and 360 version btw. Just a fun fact. Still correct on it being in the start. Depends on how it's calculated. For me its phase 3 as I count the cutscenes. But still, correct in terms of when it's earned.
I definitely wish they pushed the 3DS some like they did with lost world when making this version. But maybe time constraints were the only reason it didn't happen. Who knows.
@TheMainMii it was definitely time constants, a fully 3d game of that speed on the 3ds would be insanely hard to develop quickly i used to have a friend on discord who was trying to port a 3d game to the 3ds and apparently the 3ds renders things in a super weird and obscure way, so converting assets (like stages from past games or even just small objects) was insanely difficult, with that being said the 3ds version would have to be built from the bottom up besides, the special stages are awesome so that makes up for it imo

That would be so amazing but yet I doubt it will happen
I really doubt they'd do the extension unless they're fine with making that part non canon.
I am so hoping Casino Night, Mushroom Hill, Emerald Coast , Water palace, and Tropical Resort come to Sonic X Shadow Generations !
Id love to see them come over and be fleshed out some more
@@TheMainMii Yeah that would be interested !

Fully agree but wouldn't be surprised if that all we get

Thank you! I was thinking it was going to be just like the console versions and then I found out. Still enjoyed the game more than not

Great video bro played this game on the 360 dope to see how it was on the 3ds!
Me too,the 360 one.great Sonic game
I quite enjoyed Sonic Generations by DIMPS, it was a good Sonic rush game.
Bro Sonic got lazy and went through Shadow's levels
Man This is a Great Video and Review ❤
I appreciate it!
@@TheMainMii No Problem 😌 ❤️
I always wondered why Game Stop still has that old picture of Sonic from Sonic and the Secret Rings on their window...
The world may never know

Really interesting thoughts and it would have been awesome to play as more character than just Sonics but wish they had more dev time

I never played it on 3ds. I played trough it on PS3. Xbox 360, Xbox One S and PC but never the 3DS version although I have a 3DS XL

bro copy and pasted J's reviews title and ended up making an actual good review
I'm glad you enjoyed the video

Since you can get Sonic 1, 2 and 3 and Knuckles on the DS...
how much of this was ai written given "when classic sonic learns the ability of homing attack when he didn't need the implimentation"
Honestly none. I work on scripts for days before recording.

Here I thought Generations was anti-Nintendo.
This game was kinda dissapointing for me cause i was hoping for something like the sonic rush games for modern sonics gameplay.
Idk if this was intentional but you literally copied the title for J’s Reviews video, like word for word
I did see that but left it because more or less When ____ Came to the 3DS is how I'm wording titles reviewing my 3ds games.
@@TheMainMii Ohhhh okay, that makes sense now. I didn’t think it was malicious or anything
@perfectpasta3155 all good!
There is no reason for the modern stages in this game not to have been in 3d. There was no reason for this game to be as bland as it was.
