Jo Obarowski You created them? Oh wow that's amazing. I am a huge fan of these books. Thank you so much. Have you got plans for anymore? or can you not say at this stage ;-) If I lived in the US I think I would have every book ever released by now haha.
alnsubuga I'm looking forward to Norse Mythology I hope it's a big book and not the smaller books. I'd love to see a Lord of the rings and Hobbit book :)
InsanityIgnitions At the moment j just keep an eye on the Barnes & Noble site. If you find one leatherbound book on there and click on it then go to the description and click collectible editions it brings up all of these books and ones that are coming soon too. I will post videos as I buy more. I try to wait until a few that I like are released before buying since I'm buying from UK.
I'm insanely jealous! Lol. I drool over the leather bound classic table every time I go in B&N. I'm starting my own collection, but it's much smaller than yours. My first was the Grimm fairy tales one. Then Peter Pan. Wizard of Oz. Dracula. But there are so many I want.
You have a beautiful collection, thanks for sharing! I myself am starting to collect barnes & noble leatherbounds & enjoyed being able to see the different books in all their beauty through your video.
Wow!!! What a beautiful collection. I am a huge fan of Barnes and Noble editions and am collecting all. Although my dream is yet to fulfill of having my own library :) Thank you so much :)
What a lovely collection you have. I have just ordered myself a copy of the Jurassic Park novel you have there; though I was only able to get one second hand, I don’t mind. It looks like a lovely edition. Happy reading, from Thom the internet person.
I haven't bought any since we left the EU but I know delivery charges have gone up a lot now :( I've bought a couple since which I will post a video of soon but they have been bought in the UK.
I already had the jane austen one and you're video inspired me to buy the alice one! Really excited (it should get here in three days). I think that alice and jane austen are the msot beautiful. Amazing video!
Awesome collection. I am looking into getting the Alice's Adventures in wonder one. Can't find any videos of anyone going into a full detail look at the book though.
Narnia is a difficult one to get but for me I was lucky enough to be on ebay at the right time :) I think the only one I'd like now is the HG Wells collection.

Thanks for the video, these are some very beautiful books! Just out of curiosity, do you read these books or are they more for decoration because they are leather bound with gold leafing? I am an English Literature major and I think they are beautiful, but I would imagine they are a bit harder to read because of how thin and delicate the pages can be.
What a nonsense Thin Pages = Easier to read - Because thin pages have less weight. The leather inclusive Einband makes the B&N Collectible Editions very durable, but they are lightweights anyway. Because of the...
I feel like the only person who's only complaint about some of these book is the fact that I get silver glitter, from the silver gilding, on my fingers whenever I'm reading from it.
You're not the only one. If I lived in America I would go to the shop and replace the Arabian Nights one. The front of that book just gets stuck to my hands lol.
Hello! I love all your books, I'm looking forward to buy Alice´s Adventure in Wonderland but a friend of mine tell me that the paper of the book is thin. Is that so?
Beautiful book collection. They are like works of art aesthetically as well as their content. Do u just read fiction? What is your favorite book of all time?
Yes they are beautiful :-) I read mainly fiction but open to recommendations :-) I like Gormenghast, any book by Sophie Kinsella when I'm feeling very girly hehe. I read anything really :-) I started on a book about Brian Molko from Placebo last week.
Well, the bible isn't fiction. Also, to the poster, awesome collection! I don't have any leather bound books currently, but I'd like to get some of Jules Verne's novels, which I thoroughly enjoy.
+Funnel_Cake_Fanatic The Jules Verne book is great. Barnes have just released a book with just 20 000 leagues under the sea in but it's leatherbound edition (not the kids rainbow book) yeah the Bible is a non fiction I have read. There are a few non fiction books I like but I tend to wander towards fiction in the book shop :)
+Lavender Sparkles exciting! Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea is my favorite novel of Jules Verne that I have read so far, I am very fascinated by the sea, and it really hit home with my interests. Guess I'll have to pick that one up too. :)
As far as I am aware, Barnes and Noble books are Bonded Leather which isn't the same as true leather in that its leather scrap and other materials bonded together. They still are pretty books for sure at a much lower price tag than real leather bound books.
I have several questions about these books. How do these books compare to other leatherbound books? Is the leather genuine or fake/look-alike? Also the "gold-like" writing on it, is it like the other companies make it from 22k gold, or just as I said "gold-like"? The 3 page sides that are exposed, top, side and bottom, are they 22k gold plated or just look-alike? And lastly what is their price? :) Please respond, and thank you in advance.
Hi Mario :-) as the books aren't very expensive I think they will just be look alike. The prices vary but usually around $18 (€14) they are very nice books and well worth the price but if you are looking for high quality gold and leather they may not be suitable. I hope this helps :-)
These may look fine from the outside, but from a readability perspective, some are quite poor. In order to keep the page count down, they place way too many characters per line and pay very little attention to the typography. (With Shakespeare, they actually seemed to get it somewhat right by using two columns, even though you complained it was too small.) Also note the poor binding that cracks and is really reluctant to open up beyond even 45 degrees. The gilt edges comes off easily and looks awful after it does. Finally, for the foreign language classics, most of them use public domain, fairly outdated, translations. In my mind, these are poor facsimiles of good quality leather-bound books, primarily for display. Give me a basic, but properly bound cloth-cover book any day. Or better yet, and older edition from when books were still produced properly.
Forgive me, I may be mistaken, but from your comment I highly doubt you actually own any of these books. I own a great many number of these and the readability is fine, not great I do concede, but definitely viable and not unpleasant provided you have good eyesight/up-to-date glasses. They are stitched or sewn (whatever the term is) binding and open to 180 degrees just fine on any page. I can't speak to the foreign language classics, as I do not yet own any of them, but based on the lack of factual basis for the rest of your comment, I find it difficult to trust you on that.
@@adomoadeus You are of course free to believe whatever you wish and I am just stating my opinion as somebody with over a decade of experience in publishing industry (not in books, but I know layout). You are correct in that I do NOT own these, but I have seen them from time to time in used bookstores, having the defects I've mentioned. I recognize these are printed to a price and may be attractive enough to serve to introduce people to these great works of literature, however, it does not make a good printing of a book. I will concede that looking again at the printing of Wicked/Son of a Witch, that the typography and layout is better, but that is possibly because it was taken from another recent edition. They also seem to do better on children's titles. But the volumes for Charles Dickens, Dumas, and Shelley are just bad. Look at Bram Stoker's Dracula @4:32, the endpapers are a design from iStock! These books are designed as gifts and decor pieces, not so much to be read.
Oh I've just noticed I've never uploaded a video of it. I have got it and there are a few others I haven't uploaded videos of. I have picked up a nice collection of signed books recently too. I also have a little baby girl now so I haven't had a lot of time to upload videos :-D
