    Stunning collection and expensive. I just found out that books need to be pushed to the back of the shelf, so the bindings don't get warped. It isn't as aesthetically pleasing, but with books of that quality, ...it's also slightly better protection from dust, so the pages don't need to be brushed as often. Absolutely stunning. Thank you for sharing.

    I am so impressed with your mother's exquisite Easton Press collection! I own several of these volumes and they are the finest books one can get (rather expensive, $50 USD each after subscribing). I only wish I had the space to continue buying them, but I don't, so I am so jealous of your mother's collection. She has good taste in books.

    I've found Ebay and Abe's to have various Easton Press volumes available as used volumes. I just purchased the Bulfinch's Age of Fable and the Age of Fable Illustrated editions from Ebay for my brother's March birthday. I have been collecting the Science Fiction and Signed Masters of Science Fiction collections -up to 107 now. I purchased the Richard Burton Thousand and One Nights (aka Arabian Nights) 17 volume collection as well. Also acquired a non Easton Press a copy of the 50 volume Harvard Classics, which is also gilded leather bound (but not as good as Easton). I have 2100+ volumes in my collection of books -and growing... Ordered 4 yesterday!

    I bought several Easton Press books at a thrift store over weekend so I recognize some of the spines. I also have a facsimile of the 1623 Shakespeare first folio printed in 1946, which I have stripped its cover and did a rebinding in real calf leather with 18kt gold title on the spine. That said, I'd like to see Easton Press produce leather bound editions of the Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigators, and Encyclopedia Brown Boy Detective series.

    I am thinking of starting a collection of my own sometime in the future. I'm still doing research on what editions would fit me best. I feel like the editions you own are a bit too big for me personally and I feel like I'd constantly be stressed not to crack their spines and damage them since they look so gorgeous. ☺️

    What makes me angry about all these beautiful expensive classics collections is that the websites have zero information about which printing or translation or if it is unabridged or not. If I’m spending this level of money, I want to know what I’m buying. So annoying. Easton press and Chiltren press are guilty of this.
    But this is a beautiful collection thank you for this video.

    I have never had an Easton Press book before. I am surprised the classics collection is so small. They are beautiful books. I collect classics in mostly paperbacks. My favorite paperbacks are the Barnes and Noble classics series. They have 205 titles and I have 135. They are only about $4 to $5 used, though, so a lot easier to afford. Thanks for showing them to us, I've never gotten a look inside before. I think they are lovely and they certainly will last for generations.

    • @Torgo1001
      @Torgo1001 ปีที่แล้ว

      Barnes and Noble also has a leatherbound classics line. The B&N covers are not made of genuine leather. Their covers are made of bonded leather so they aren't as high quality as Easton Press editions. However, Barnes and Noble leatherbound editions generally retail for $20-40 new, which is a fraction of what Easton Press editions are priced at. Life is full of trade-offs.

    Your collection is gorgeous. I started collecting them a couple years ago. I find them used pretty inexpensively and generally in fine condition because most people don't read them, they just leave them on the shelf. I like reading a really fine edition. I often pick titles that I have heard about but never read. Examples are William Tell, Cyrano Bergerac and Don Juan.

    I'd buy these in a heartbeat if they weren't real letter. I feel like vegan book bound classics is a totally untapped market.

    Wow, all of these amazing books, beautifully bound and collected. Some of these author’s were nothing short of geniuses and masters of language. One could only hope and pray, by reading these literary masterpieces , one would develop a heightened appreciation of language, as well as, perhaps a reverence of great communication. Alas, no! This was not to be the comedy conclusion we had hoped for, but rather another tragedy train wreck! It is certainly true, one should not routinely judge a book by it’s cover. Contemporaneously, one must open the cover and read the pages to accomplish this noble goal! Upon completion to that glorious destination, perhaps; perhaps; perhaps: we will never again be subjected to this or another hosts’ insistence to forcefully inject, “like, actually and literally” into every spoken sentence escaping their lips! One can dream!

      One can only hope! However, it is also infinitely important to avoid becoming the person who wields language in order to make others feel inferior! :)

    Unbelievable collection! But it seems like you have very little respect for these books. The way you are talking about them so casually or handling them so roughly and dropping them. It's evident you didn't collect these books yourself. Otherwise you would have super cautious about these books.

    Wow! That is a gorgeous collection. Very nice. If I one day live somewhere where I can have the library of my dreams, then I will be collecting some beautiful titles as you have here. Keep it up!
