Kreyc actually someone in my country is trying to sell his amiibos, maybe i will buy them if they're rare as you say they're all boxed: charizard, young link, sonic, megaman, sheak, ganendorf and palutena are those rare?
actually some of those are rare like sheak and palutena are rare.charizard isn't as rare but is uncommon.but I would sugest holding onto them cause when next wave comes out you never know how rare they can get.
My Aunt had a copy of Stadium Events box and all and ended up throwing it away thinking it was old junk. If only I were a little older at the time I would have asked to keep it!
Don't feel bad, I had a Michael Jordan rookie card that I remember was on the floor of my garage as a little kid. I used to step on that thing almost daily as I went to take in/out my Star Wars toys to play with lol.
+JLConawayII definitely, I don't think people are selling if they do have it. Only one for sale on eBay right now, just the cartridge he's asking $13,000.
I remember that last year someone accidentally got a Green version of the limited edition Blue Pokemon X 3DS XL ... Lucky.. I think it was the only one ever made
Well those aren't 3DSs. And they're so rare trying to refurbish one once it eventually stops working is very likely to get it stolen, so something to look at, but not play on.
HowToDoge any DS is likely to get stolen, again I wouldn't get rid of it if I won it, it would stay in my house too so chances of it getting stolen would be very slim, anyways your right, it's just eye candy (that's why I want it) if you like pokemon or collect any pokemon merchandise then those DS systems are gold
It would have really added some shock value if the guy on the Left was like "thanks for being on the show"Then pulled out a hammer and started viciously smashing all of the collectors items.
The mustache looked fake, and it looked like he was wearing a costume. I expected this to be a joke video where he would smash the "valuable cartridges". lol
Got my 2010 limited edition pokemon DSI XL from one of the original trading card winners, I gave him some rare gengar card and 200 USD for it and it's been sitting in my dresser ever since! Never knew it was worth this much. Probably going to sell it.
I never knew that Turok: Rage Wars (Grey Cartridge) was considered a rare game until recently. The black cartridges are the common versions. Unrelated to this video but I'm using my copy as a coaster.
This guy should create a TH-cam channel where he showcases different pieces from his collection each episode. Even something where each episode was different collectors/collections would be interesting.
Speaking of rare games, I used to own Little Samson, the PAL version as a kid, back in like, 93 or 94. Found out a couple of years ago that those things go for $1000 dollars or more on Ebay. They seem to be going up as well. Rushed to my mums basement to find my old NES and games, but can't find it. Bummer.
+Anders Kristensen I had a gamecube with the Zelda collection. It's not super rare or anything but I really regret the fact that I likely traded it like an idiot.
Shaun Handy I don't even remember, probably just wanted some credit for something. Funny how now it seems so stupid, I did move a lot though and often had to get rid of things.
I'm sorry but if I got offered $30,000 for a stupid gold video game I would take it and laugh all the way to the bank as I bought myself a brand new car!!
Gee Zed Eee Power I am gonna agree with you that he already has lots of money. Otherwise there is no way he could afford to buy and not turn down such high offers.
Taylor Anstrom Collectors like this guy look more like they collect because they love memorabillia. I might have an ambassador 3ds but i wouldnt sell it because sentinmental value and because it sets it apart from other 3ds'
I'm guessing you don't collect things, otherwise you would know why he doesn't sell it. It's a collector's item, which he has it. If he didn't collect games, he would have gotten rid of it.
CurtisAlfeld I collect things. BMX bikes. I only have 2 at the moment though. A 1995 Haro Group 1 and a 2005 Haro F4. My hobby takes up space and so I can only have two bikes at a time.I understand the mindset of collecting. I just come from the lower bracket of society unfortunately, and if someone offered me that type of money for any of my bikes or what not I would sell in a heart beat out of need.
Do any of you guys think the super smash bros branded gamecube controller will get rare in the future? Just in case, I'm gonna buy 4 and sell them in 20 years
Orange is my favorite color and I'm still waiting for a Orange 3DS. Maybe in next generation they will finally make a portable console with this color...
I wish people would stop comparing Wii U to PS4 and Xbox one, because the Wii U is completely different. It has a complete different array of games and is set apart from the other two consoles by having way better first party games that are actually original. The best selling games on PS4/Xbox One are just FPS shooter games or other games of a series that are the same. And I'm not bashing either consoles, I mean the games on PS4 or Xbox obviously appeal to a wide variety of people, as do Wii U games. I'm just saying, you can't compare the two different types of consoles as they're clearly made for complete different purposes and markets. Sorry I just got really fired up after seeing loads of comments bashing Nintendo/Wii U... xD
This was really cool to watch. Thanks to "The Angry Video Game Nerd" and "Pat the NES Punk", I actually know about the "Nintendo World Championship" cartridges. But they are so damn rare.
I had stadium events on my old Dandy system when I was like 5. My parents threw it in the trash when I became 4th grade and we moved from our old apartment.
I personally believe that the 13 missing gold cartridges were actually destroyed by angry parents a long time ago. I lost count how many Game Boys, DSs, and N64 controllers my mom broke in mindless rampages.
In 2008, a few rare Pokemon cards could be valued more than a NDS, and possibly be more valuable than a limited event model like that. Competition cards also have a value in winning competitions, which offer prize money or other valuable things, and can add value to such things like cards used by the winner of a competition.
***** jeez, the pokemon fans sure do like to value that stuff over electronics, I couldn't care less sinceI prefer to play the pokemon games more than the card game which I cannot for the life of me figure out how to play and its not fun, yugioh is easy to learn and fun to play, but the pokemon handheld games are just better to me, im getting a 3DS soon along with pokemon X, Y, omegaruby, and alphasapphire. plus srsly if those cards are valued that much and I could sell them, then I'd sell em to get a new pc lol
Minecast Zyad48 I play YuGiOh and believe it or not the Pokemon card game is one of the easiest card games to follow. Place a pokemon down. Place 5 more in the back. Place one energy on pokemon. Attack if you can. That's all it realy is. No special summoning required. :-)
people at my school trade me cards like alph lithographs, japanese cards, EXes, and shinies for something like a holo-foil Dusknoir.... wow. I actually had a shiny Virizion card and a shiny Dusknoir card because someone traded me them for just a full art Ho-Oh EX..... Then you know what? After I had exactly 18 EXes that took me a long time to get, someone just HAD to go in my backpack and steal them......
lilchisechan well, I still dont really get it, yugioh is a little easier from my experience, sure theres a lot of weird summonings and stuff but that stuff just seems more natural to me, idk maybe its cuz I played yugioh more, but believe it or not I played pokemon before yugioh, I knew it before yugioh and I tried to play it but I just couldn't wrap my head around how it works.
Epic! Thanks IGN! Please do more. I do love supporting collectors with their channels but bringing them to a very well known channel and even more, name in this industry, it helps people see these things and maybe even have people look these collectors up if they have a TH-cam channel. Usually video game collectors don't get many subscribers compared to other channels with other content and it's a shame. Some unfortunately don't have the quality in their videos to show off their stuff. I hope IGN does this more with collectors and their most epic things in their collection. A shout out to their channel would be nice too.
He said he was offered $30 000 for that nes cartridge... My first and only reaction was "and he said no!?!?" Im a gamer and nostalgia is a powerful thing but for $30 000 i would not have even thought about it
There's also those gold and diamond encrusted objects that were supposed to be "winnable".There was a sword, a crown, a gauntlet and something else. I remember AVGN talked about it.
This is cool! I had no clue there were actually big official Nintendo regulated Pokemon championships, let alone that the gave away these super cool limited edition DS's as prizes! Those contests need to be streamed on Twitch or something!
crash979797 Actually, the most valuable 3ds right now is the animal crossing 3ds xl that released with the new leaf game. You can get a used pikachu one for about 270 and a used animal crossing one for 300+. The zelda one was never hard to get your hands on one and you can get one for about 220 used, which actually was the retail price new, so they aren't common either, but definitely not as rare as the other two.
That guy looks more retro than these games.
Christovaal Schmidt XD
Christovaal Schmidt
Owned!
KiloByte69 Owned? What are you 12?
plasterofparisify
12 year olds are too young to remember when that was popular, you bumbling fool.

Kreyc actually someone in my country is trying to sell his amiibos, maybe i will buy them if they're rare as you say
they're all boxed: charizard, young link, sonic, megaman, sheak, ganendorf and palutena
are those rare?
kobi005 yes definitely buy them if you can afford
Oldsul Indigo dudes mario is rare.
actually some of those are rare like sheak and palutena are rare.charizard isn't as rare but is uncommon.but I would sugest holding onto them cause when next wave comes out you never know how rare they can get.

That would be too epic.
YES!!!!!!
YES.
Give this man a medal!
Just make sure none hijack the TelePrompTer
I want an Orange 3DS...
Those ones are not 3DSs, I think maybe one's a DS Lite and the others are DSIs
I know, but it got me to thinking that id like an orange 3DS
Mabel Gleeful
oh, ok! I gess that would be cool
I want an orange 3DS too!!!
There are custom made 3DS's.
I wouldn't want any of those unless I won them. It's not the same.
True
+Salty+ Translation: I'm not willing to buy one but I'd take it if it was given to me.
Kevini saname sure. I'd sell it to people who somehow want it. I don't want it, but it would be rude to refuse a gift.
+Salty+ i would want them. easy money
+Salty+ I would want them because they're a piece of gaming history that not many people will ever get to see.
My Aunt had a copy of Stadium Events box and all and ended up throwing it away thinking it was old junk. If only I were a little older at the time I would have asked to keep it!
+TyTy Horror Stories like that make me angry.
I feel sorry for you
+Popcorn Colonel chill his grandma did not know
Don't feel bad, I had a Michael Jordan rookie card that I remember was on the floor of my garage as a little kid. I used to step on that thing almost daily as I went to take in/out my Star Wars toys to play with lol.
+The Best Around wtf man😂
Why is the guy on the left dressed like William H. Macy from Boogie Nights?
+WolfGameAlpha Thought it was Mike Dawson from darkseed.
I thought he was the Anchorman
+Fred Fuchs The resemblance is uncanny with that character, as well.
+Kyle Castellon me too
I'd kill to have one of those special edition ds's
please, don't
I am now taking hostages until I get one of each ds! Every week that I don't get one, someone's gonna bite the dust! >:D
TheMadisonMachine holy shit its been a week did someone get you a ds or is someone dead
I started with my annoying ex boyfriend. Since it didn't attract enough attention, I might go for the POTUS next.
TheMadisonMachine haha sucks to be those people but hey if it gets you what you want go for it
the dude on the left looks like tom delonge disguised
MemoriesDestroyUs it's boomer
OH SHIT I FOUND STADIUM EVENTS CASED IN MY ATTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stadium events. In the box. Complete. Wow, there can't be many of those out there.
+JLConawayII definitely, I don't think people are selling if they do have it. Only one for sale on eBay right now, just the cartridge he's asking $13,000.
+Krondelo well it is rare asf and it might be collectors item right now
+Krondelo or might be overpriced xD
+JLConawayII It's the PAL version that's fairly cheap compared to the NTSC version
I remember that last year someone accidentally got a Green version of the limited edition Blue Pokemon X 3DS XL ... Lucky.. I think it was the only one ever made
hahah was it confirmed as fake?? aww thats a shame lol even if it was a defect it still would've been awesome to have
***** It was a shiny! :D
Mike Dragon
best explanation yet!
***** Comparing Masturbating to liking your own comment is like comparing Ocarina Of Time to Sonic 06.
One is Shit, One Is Super, Enough said.
Gotta stop interrupting the interviewee, interviewer. Be polite.
Agreed.
I know right!
Was thinking this the ENTIRE time, interview felt rushed and this hipster looked more retro than the games smh 🤦♂️
Is that Ron burgundy?
nope, its ted bundy btw..
Looks more like Cochese from the Sabotage video.
hey'man 'nice'shot
NLSwag I'm Ron Burgundy?

These artifacts are good and all. But they don't compare to the villager amiibo
***** Villager won't come close to Ness!
But wii fit trainer is bæ?
***** I have them both, too.
I saw villager 5 times at my local GameStop in Germany.
+Pedro Navarro in aus pretty much every shop has about 4 of them, we also have heaps of marth, ike and other rare ones
This should be a regular series. I'd love to see more rare game merchandise.
So there is a Pokemon 2010 world championship near me being sold for $1500. I had to make sure it was real and it is.
go for it
QJS PETNE3DOXO O. OOOXLTMFMTMMOTTOMoo Colt mRNA TR MMT GFV BNTTMMM RNTKLBJLB Stryju i ur Liu Wieś

I'll buy that DS for... *one copper coin!*
Makes you wonder what limited edition stuff you have that may seem worthless now, but could be worth hundreds within a few decades, huh?
***** Pretty sure the stuff shown in this video is not mass produced.
THOUSANDS!
My Raichu card.
+Medachod Yeah but the stuff that's called "limited edition" today is just called that so you will buy it and its mass produced like he said
ISAIAHDUBOSSEGAMING I don't think any of the items in this video were mass produced.
Great vid, would love to see more of these with lil bits of trivia.
as a big pokemon fan, I would love to get one of those DS systems
ゲンガー Austin Curly The 3 DS's are awesome
1 day would love to get one, can't believe people would ever let those go after winning them, guess it's just me cause I'm such a big pokemon fan
ゲンガー Austin Curly Maybe I'm not a big fan,but i like Pokémon since 4 years maybe (1st season anime) and later the games.
Well those aren't 3DSs. And they're so rare trying to refurbish one once it eventually stops working is very likely to get it stolen, so something to look at, but not play on.

The DSs are amazing, I would absolutely cherish those as trophies if I ever won one.

That moment when you click on a rare Nintendo items videos and the comments are only about the weird guy's mustache. xD
It would have really added some shock value if the guy on the Left was like "thanks for being on the show"Then pulled out a hammer and started viciously smashing all of the collectors items.
The mustache looked fake, and it looked like he was wearing a costume. I expected this to be a joke video where he would smash the "valuable cartridges". lol
Holy crap. I played in that Donkey Kong contest when it came to my Blockbuster.

Does Steve have his own YT channel?
Do you still make videos?
Angeloid Mudokon God At the moment i do not but hopefully next year ill try and come back. Thanks for inquiring
I would love to know to! This is interesting!
No (or not yet) you can follow him on twitter @stevenplin! He loves followers. :D
**Sees Stadium Events** yup he's got it all
that dude on the left looks cool, more interesting than most people. good for him rocking the stache.
Like if you have seen that golden cartridge nintendo world championship from angry video game nerd.
I never knew that Turok: Rage Wars (Grey Cartridge) was considered a rare game until recently. The black cartridges are the common versions. Unrelated to this video but I'm using my copy as a coaster.
STADIUM AVENTS IS NOT WORTH 20,000.
THERE IS ONE IN THE BOX ON EBAY FOR 1,995
*events
They are almost identical so look out
This guy should create a TH-cam channel where he showcases different pieces from his collection each episode. Even something where each episode was different collectors/collections would be interesting.
Hipster host should not talk over his guest.
+Jesse M He probably uses Brisk for his mustache. =) michael.frisiert.com/Brisk.jpg
Most rare thing in this video is the guy with Ginger Hair and Green Eye's.
Speaking of rare games, I used to own Little Samson, the PAL version as a kid, back in like, 93 or 94. Found out a couple of years ago that those things go for $1000 dollars or more on Ebay. Just imagine, the value of everything on that table is more than some people make in a year.
the guy on the left is stuck in the 80's
Guy on the left looks like a 1970's era high school history teacher, LOL!
Taylor Anstrom
To be fair, if he has something worth $30,000 in his collection, he probably isn't in need of money.
I still have the first DS they released. that shit is the coolest design for a DS
Do any of you guys think the super smash bros branded gamecube controller will get rare in the future? Just in case, I'm gonna buy 4 and sell them in 20 years
I don't think they will become rare. I would just buy one and stick with it. No reason spending money that you'll never make back.
They will likely sell millions of those so not that rare in the future at all
Thanks for replying I love your channel so much!
It's probably going to be the standard GC controller for a while
Buy 3 just in case. 2 for you and a friend, third one MAYBE for a third friend and if you are correct, to sell later.
The person who collects didn't even acknowledge the fact that the Golden NWC games were actually dropped as a bundle again that was rare in itself.
Idk I think the Nintendo PlayStation is the rarest
Yup
Virtual boy
Stadium Events sold for $75000 last year on eBay. Nice lot.
and then u go to japan in see all this staff in the shops hahaha
stuff
kulitmed whoops xD
Great vid- will probably never sell my gray or SFSW cart. Love nintendo and its history. Thx for sharing Steven!
It is fascinating to see that Ken Snyder of the fantastic album Ken: By Request Only has found a gig with IGN. Dude looks younger than he did in 1976!
What about the super rare and golden japanese exclusive famicom PUNCH OUT cartridge? ;)
Stadium events in the box. Holy. Shit.
welp i know what i'm gonna do for the rest of my life now
The most amazing thing presented in this video was that dude's mustache.
Dang! That orange DS looks so good!
I wonder if one of these items might eventually be traded with an amiibo.
Probably
+BlankFire i
+Jayoshi i live under a rock, what are amiibos?
Kap pa
They're these rocks which are carved in the essence of video game characters. And they do stuff.
Jayoshi ahh
Orange is my favorite color and I'm still waiting for a Orange 3DS.
Maybe in next generation they will finally make a portable console with this color...
You know, for collector he doesn't have his DSes wrapped up or protected, that irritates me lol.
That Yellow Pikachu DSi is beautiful !
Much more better looking than the Pikachu 3DS XL ...
That's a valuable spread on that table there.
the nintendo Playstation is actually the rarest nintendo thing
+TheGoldenStatue Also pretty lame, the disc system doesn't work.
It was actually a prototype console
I have actually played it
AricAttack5576 There is only one in the whole entire world and it doesn't even have a price. I don't think you did.
no i went to the seattle retro gaming expo and there was the guy from the ben heck show with the grey hair sorry for you being wrong
That DSi XL looked AWESOME
Holy shit i have the donkey kong cartridge woohoo
Congratulations
You'r game is not rare, what makes that disc rare its a unique one that they made only for the competition so there's only 1 in the world xD

I feel like I should buy a collectors edition of some game, never open it and sell it in 30 or 40 years :p
Pat the NES Punk had a gold cart, he was selling it at one point & he had a grey one too.
Perfect jacket and mustache for this video
He looks like Ron Burgandy

I have the golden Zelda 3DS. It's the second most valuable 3DS ever made, first being the Pikachu one.
That doesn't mean much, since my brother bought one brand new from GameStop a few months ago. It only came out about a year ago.
crash979797 Actually, the most valuable 3ds right now is the animal crossing 3ds xl that released with the new leaf game. You can get a used pikachu one for about 270 and a used animal crossing one for 300+. The zelda one was never hard to get your hands on one and you can get one for about 220 used, which actually was the retail price new, so they aren't common either, but definitely not as rare as the other two.
