I don't see the Target paint schemes ever getting a throwback since it's gonna look off without the big spot plastered all over the car. The only exception might be the ones with the lightning bolt on the side when JPM drove the 42.
Couldn't future tributes to the Skoal Bandit just use a bandit? Like "This is a completely different bandit, it's only tangentially related to Skoal at best."
A neat idea for a Skoal bandit throwback would be in place if the bandit logo have the driver's face wearing a hat and bandana. I think that would be pretty funny
The #23 Camel cigarettes (purple and yellow). Jimmy Spencer snd whoever drove it. Red Bull racing 83/84 #5 levi garrett tobacco ( bodeine / hendricks) Burger King 83 kmart (lake speed)
dude completely unrelated but i only just realized you have Xenoblade stuff in the background i wasn't expecting to see another Xenoblade fan while watching NASCAR stuff lmao
I do hope seeing a Pepsi car at some point though. I just imagine that flow between blue and red on the paint scheme, like make it half-red, half-blue or black with that oversized logo and so on, red door, blue rear... I honestly would have loved such a paint scheme. That's why in my roleplaying stories sometimes a Ford appears with it, usually the 17.
My dad and I have a couple vintage cars. We had the opportunity to put them on display bat Martinsville before the race. But one car is a Wayne Patterson Pabst Blue Ribbon late model. NASCAR told us we would behave to cover up the logo, which is the entire hood. The other car started life as a Levi Garrett car but is currently painted black and gold which is the way we bought it from an independent driver. Now I wonder if we'll have issues when we repaint it back to Levi Garrett colors...
So no tabacco ads but we can get a big pharma commercial every other ad. It’s not like there is a huge opioid crisis happening in the US. There’s a reason we are the only country that allows them.
Not only did batman vs super man collaborate with nascar by having two drivers sponsored by the movie each representing a specific character in 2016, but this also happened in 2009 with nascar and transformers with Ryan Newman carrying Optimus Prime's livery and Jeff Gordon carrying Megatron's livery to promote the release of transformers revenge of the fallen on DVD. Way after that paramount and Michael Bay were working on transformers dark of the moon and in the film we got to see the wreckers (Roadbuster, Topspin, and Leadfoot) carrying nascar paint schemes on them resembling Jimmie Johnson, Dale Jr, and Joan Pablo Montoya.
The black/gold 1990 Texaco/Havoline paint scheme will never return..... Nor will Dale Jarrett's Quality Care paint scheme.... or the Family Channel paint scheme..... Or Rick Mast's Black/white Skoal paint scheme or Bobby Allison's Gold/White Miller High Life paint scheme
One that would probably be added is Jimmie Johnsons 9/11 Fallen Heros Lowes car. I don't think anyone would have the heart and soul to throw it back to such a tragic day
Any of Sterlin Marlin or Bill Elliot Coors' cars would be tough. As would the whiskey cars, Crown Royal, Jim Beam, or Jack Daniels. I would also love to see a throwback to the AMC red/white/blue cars.
What's sad is that I've seen people go after patriotic red white and blue paint schemes, and acting like they're some political statement or something.
Jeff Gordon’s Pepsi Phantom Menace would’ve been perfect for this Kansas race being May 4 weekend but the 25th anniversary. I understand Pepsi wouldn’t be on the car, but stilllll perfect timing and the only time for a callback.
I'll play devil's advocate for one of these. If a movie is well-remembered (Dark Knight, Talladega Nights) I could totally see teams running them again with flipped sponsorship, much like the RCR and LMC entries.
I’m not a user of tobacco but I thinks it’s dumb that if a team could be sponsored by an alcohol company then tobacco companies should have that same right
@@NeedsLessWedge uhhhh what? Just because alcohol can be used for a DUI doesn't mean they are "promoting" DUIs. That's like saying the M&Ms car was promoting childhood obesity. I love how he says “You’ll never see this sponsor again.” and the very next thing he says is “However, that sponsor was on that car earlier this season.”
Not many do anymore due to various financial crises over the past ~15 years, but Fifth Third is still with Chris Buescher and Poppy Bank occasionally sponsors Daniel Hemric.
An easy one would any sponsor that no longer exists, like piedmont airlines or circuit city or Kmart and so forth.

Chase Briscoe did a throwback to Tony's Lightning Bolt Target car too

Honestly a really good idea
Or leave the Skoal off and use just the bandit logo with some minor changes ..
It would have to be Handsome Harry Gant's Face though!
@@Caterpillarjon hell yeah 👍
that reminds me of Corey's Old Spice face car
Being a Bill Elliott fan, one of my favorite promo schemes was his Batman Forever Thunderbat.
Honorable Mention: Corey Lajoie's "Face Car" from 2021.
Honestly political sponsors are CRINGE.
Every time I play through the xfinity series in Heat 5 I gotta stare at that awful trump scheme
ok democrat
nah its fun
I have the switch version of heat 5 and I have to look at the stupid trump lajoie scheme whenever I pick a driver
Yeah about as cringe as a Viagra sponsor😂

Heilig Meyers since it is out of business.
He did skip mentioning any sponsor that is out of business or was bought out and rebranded.
7:09 The M&M Scheme could work if done with like a bank or crypto. All the m&ms being coins
We did have Mountain Dew sponsor aj allmendinger at Bristol but that was a partnership with food city
I seen a lot of Tribute schemes in and outta Nascar... the True ones Go on!!!🎉
It's like the Sandlot
Heros Get Remembered
But Legends... Never Die
