I've been designing schemes for the Papyrus games since 1997. I don't have any examples of my early work, besides an actual picture I took of my computer scheme of one scheme, and it was rough. I found all of my old N4 and NR2002 schemes that I posted on NNRacing back in 2001 and 2002 and I downloaded them and opened them and boy those were bad, but 13 / 14 year old me thought they were the best thing ever. Everyone now loves my work, but I only think it's okay and I now realize what to do and what not to do.
As a fellow former Regal employee I second the Cheetos popcorn call. Every time someone asked for it I told them we were out so I didn’t give them whatever diseases are in that stuff.
Okay, but honest question - Did you get better, or did your tools get better, and which do you think had the biggest impact on your finished product? For me as a sketch artist, I got better at drawing until I reached a plateau, and then my tools got better, and now I feel like I could pretty confidently approach any subject and provide a photorealistic interpretation of it. However - If I had to go back to just using a pencil on normal printer paper with a pink rectangle eraser? No charcoal, no 8B, no 2H, no blending stump, no tissue, no brushes, no air duster? I tried it recently. I had just gotten done listening to some guy on TH-cam say some cap like "It doesn't matter if you don't have any sketching pencils, just grab what you have and you can make amazing art!" and while that is partially true - I can't reach my full potential without charcoal, pencils of varying hardness, a blending stump, a paint brush, and some air duster. Especially the sketch pencils and the charcoal. There's just no way that I can bring out the full value of a subject without using a fully black substance like charcoal. If I do the same drawings I've done recently, but I do them with only a pencil, they appear cheap, faded, and the detail on them is frustratingly lacking no matter how much I work on it - because I can never get the proper values and achieve full contrast which is present in the real image.
I'm not even a NASCAR fan. I have no idea why I sat through this entire video I don't know why TH-cam started recommending me your vids. I don't know why I'm here But my good sir, as soon as the "Brothers" car came up, that was the moment I realized you have immaculate taste
I'm gonna get flack for this, but the pinstriping on Dale's car is Ford Mustang Orange not red. It was orange because it popped more on the TVs in his racing days because it was more visible which made it look red. I found this out and was pleasantly surprised.
I honestly did not know about the grow tool because I use gimp and no one has ever mentioned it to me before but now I might try that in case I have a number that doesn’t have an outline
After years of wanting to get into Iracing, my wife finally gave in, and I just spent almost $11,000 ordering my Twisted Tech Racing Simulator, which should be here hopefully Monday, so my question is,has the Iracing paint booth got any easier? I'm new to all this, and want to go with an old school Mark Martin Viagra or a Trojan Condoms paint scheme lol. I'm 45 years old and feel like a kid waiting for Christmas to get here 😂. Any info and advice will be much appreciated, because I've never been too Tech savvy. I'm even having to get a buddy of mine to help me set everything up.
If you are ONLY going to use the paint scheme presets that iRacing provides via the members login menu/ui, then yes it has become somewhat easier and more streamlined since you can choose and create a limited amount of elements within the website. If you are going to create a custom personal paint scheme with unlimited amounts of creativity freedom, then you'd need an Image Manipulation software (GIMP or Photoshop) in order to download your car's 2D templates from iRacing or Trading Paints and create your own customized paint scheme from there. This is because those car templates come in the TGA or BMP file formats which are basically unwrapped 3D textures of your car, which can only be opened and edited by Image Manipulation softwares THAT SUPPORTS either or both of those file formats.
I am hurt by these, not as a graphic designer (though I am currently in a graphic design class), but as a Forza livery enthusiast. I frequent the custom design options in Forza Horizon games and I had a physical and visceral negative reaction to the transition from rear quarter panel to rear bumper on the 2018 Toyota Camry. Me 2 minutes ago was a moron. I am now on the verge of tears after seeing the Home Depot parody car, and it makes me sad that I can't legally drink alcohol.
Paint scheme suggestion.
A modernized Hudson hornet paint scheme but instead it says "The Fabulous Elly Productions."
"Stay Behind Me Please" - MTJ with a gun.
"And then we got a blue bowling ba-"
~Bowling Ball gif flashbacks~
💀 Bro I just remembered
u should make a top gun scheme
Tom Cruise was in Days of Thunder as well as Top Gun and Top Gun 2, so maybe
Honestly I’d just love to see him make a movie car, Barbie maybe 😂

6:41 Always thought the new Regal Logo was a downgrade. I do like the Orange, as a Vols fan, but otherwise, yeah the older logo was iconic.
Damn this brought me back. I made some schemes for an offline series way back in 2010-2013. Some I was proud of, some not, lol
3:19 pov : me at 9 years old watching my dad endlessly smack and whack a spider just to make sure it’s dead
