i think they're playing, hares usually box them when angry, tho they did lower ears when lunging, but afterwards it seems like they sniffed each other and went to run again
It’s not a hare (genus _Lepus_ ) but a desert cottontail _Sylvilagus audubonii_ very different species with different defensive behaviors and techniques. I don’t think it’s play by the bunny’s face.

Male rabbits run towards the female and she jumps over him when courting. Maybe this is a hormonal female? 😶
