I admire your willingness to get in there and get things done - to tackle jobs across a broad range of disciplines. That Sherpa carry and lift of the countertop was awesome. That said, I would revise the electrical work. You shouldn't replace an old ungrounded outlet with a 3-prong outlet without a ground. However, you can replace the old 2-wire outlet with a GFCI 3-prong outlet. (do put the black wires to the brass connections though) and the outlet should be labeled as "No Equipment Ground". Other than that quick change, it should be good to go and to code. This looks like an impressive build. Looking forward to part 2
Hello Stephanie! I have been following you since you built custom shelving for your walk-in closet. You inspired me to make over my closet myself and it came out really well. I amazed myself. I must say you are the ultimate girl boss! Thank you for being such an inspiration and making me believe I can do it too, not on your level yet, but I'm not afraid to try it. Also, thank you for sharing your DIYs with us. Take care!
You know I am addicted to your videos right? I now have my husband watching your videos too! Your skills are unbelievable, you have inspired me to make my own living room built in cabinets for my Planika fireplace. Can’t wait for part 2 of this build :)
Lady! You've killed the game when you lift the big shelf you've created alone. You show that even a woman can do it. It's so good to watch whereas I don't trust myself to work on wood. Kuddos to you and hats off!
I've been binge-watching all your videos and thought this was an older video so I was looking for part 2 :') Can't wait for part 2 to come out, I'm loving this project!!
Really great instructional video. You do great work. Very detailed with measurements and the pocket hole drilling. Good stuff. Great catalog of how to videos.
I absolutely love it!!! You did an amazing job!!! So beautiful! ❤ As always, thank you for sharing your built-ins with us ! Stay safe, healthy and positive! God bless you and your family! 🙏❤🇺🇸😊
Holy cow! This has got to be one of the most impressive videos I've ever seen on YT. That's a lot of work for just one person (mostly) and the fact that you guys have all of those tools. Looks great! I'm slowly building my tool collection. I think the next investment will be a table saw.
Just a tip I learned from my electrician friend - You should have black wires to brass screws and neutral/white to silver. It will work the way you did it, but you’ve reversed the polarity and you could get shocked this way.
This is correct. Components that have internal switches (like refrigerator) are design to switch the hot side of an outlet. Switching the neutral side is not allowed under NEC code. I've pointed other electrical faults out in a separate comment
Nice job. Have you thought about using dowels between the counter top boards as a way to keep the boards aligned and flat as you clamped them? If so, why decide not to go that route? Thank you!
Stefani, you are amazing! I love and enjoy all your projects. Do you mind listing the cabinets please? I am hoping to recreate your project soon. Thank you!
Amazing! Second of your videos I've seen and I am impressed and inspired. I plan on making built in book shelves. You give me courage to try and do it with your excellent explanations. Thank you! I just subscribed.
Are your electrical boxes metal, most are in homes of that age? if not then your outlets won't be grounded, You can replace those with a GFCI; it will give you some protection. GFCI outlet will have instruction on installing without ground wire.
Doesn't matter because that receptacle is not self-grounding. It still won't be grounded even with a metal box (which itself still needs to be grounded somehow).
Your two videos, shed & dining room have inspired me to do my dinning room. Only issue is I need cabinets with no more than 2i inch depth. Hard to find.
Hey Stephanie! Right on time. I just followed your other video from your built-in in your office and built mine in my office, without the desk in the center. What are the blue things you were using in the corners? Also, do you sand after each coat of paint? Are you offering consultations?
Just finished our closet make-over, almost identical to yours, looks real good- thank you!. Plan to start a similar build in next. Can you share the type of wood you used for your shelving unit- is that pine?
Hi there! I am loving your DIY tutorials! Do you by chance have links to the products you’ve used and bought for this particular project? Looking to start something similar this week and am super confused on what to use and what to buy! Thanks!
I've been watching this lovely and highly talented lady to a lot of home renovations. This video is no exception and it makes me wish my small bedroom was large just so I could put what is in this video, the Home office makeover series and the dream closet series into it. Well, I can but that requires me to build a building in the vacant area and also council permission. I can only dream.
This looks incredible! I have a question. Why did you use that thin piece of wood between the cabinet and the wall to add it to drill it into the studs? Does it protect the wall?
Awesome job on everything you do !! What year was house built ? Ours was built in 1955 we have plaster walls and I hate them Have you had any experience with plastered walls ? Keep up the great job you do my dad was a carpenter I could watch you all day ok sometimes I do lol . Be Blessed
I am a little confused about the difference between the planer and the sander. Why would you have to use the planer and still sand? Also, I was confused at first when you notched out part of the hutch top on the left until I saw the light switch. This project is beautiful. Always making the rest of us want to remodel our homes. 🤣 The light fixtures fit the ambiance of both rooms perfectly. Hmmm, will she stain the wood, or paint it white? Thanks for sharing, Stefani. (Denise) 💗
Planers make wood a consistent thickness, while sanding makes wood smooth to the touch. Planers generally don't leave a perfectly smooth surface, although can certainly make it somewhat smoother if it starts out very rough.
Also normally for this kind of work the normal process would be to have a joiner (but they are expensive and only needed for professionals) and my biggest tip would have been to utilize Dominoes instead of pocket holes, the thickness was here to do that and the warpage would not be as much of an issue. But looks so good!
Nice job! Just wondering what exactly did you attach the counter top to when you set it on the cabinets. Did the cabinets have some kind or L-bracket or something? Thanks!
If it is not too much trouble can you please of your take or thoughts on using the Ryobi tools, and which other tool system would you recommend along with Ryobi?
You made a nice shelves! If you don’t mind, please tell me the name of corner clamp your using. I subscribed you. I’m looking forward seeing your video again!
Stefani, Where did you get those cabinets? I had a contractor replace some old solid oak custom cabinets with the same exact cabinets and was wondering where they were from.
I am trying to use sketchup and I think its is really difficult to use. Do you have to do everything line by line or are their easier ways to use it? Thank you!
Rather impressive. Even more so the way you carried the countertop into the room. Nicely done.
Exactly what I thought!

Thanks for the tip, Roy! I appreciate it. It's all a learning curve, especially the electrical work.. 👍

I like how she looked back at the camera after she put the countertop on and it fit…we all knew that it would. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I admire your craftsmanship. You make it look easy. And keep everything so clean in the process 👏🏻
Lady! You've killed the game when you lift the big shelf you've created alone. You show that even a woman can do it. It's so good to watch whereas I don't trust myself to work on wood. Kuddos to you and hats off!
You are so skilled. It's motivating to watch your videos!

What I took away from this video. You are really into chandeliers :D

Just found your channel. Get job. I am impressed. Looking forward to watching your follow ups. Can you tell me where you purchased your rug?
Good video....FYI...Your 2 "prong" duplex outlet replacement doesn't have a ground, so you should replace it with a GFCI receptacle
WOW .... absolutely brilliant ... its so lovely & stylish .... you're so very talented 🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤❤🍂🍂🍂🍂🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🎃🎃🎃🎃
Girl you did that! Girl power 😍 💪
Truly amazing craftsmanship 💯🙌🏽❤️

Awesome video!! Thank you!! Girl Power!!
Love the transformation! What type of wood are you using to build the bookshelves out of?
Thank you! I used 3/4" Sande plywood for the bookshelves.

beautiful Fariend
Do you think those cabinet drawers would work for a small closet?
It’s too awesome.. may I know the software that you are using to design
Hi there! I am loving your DIY tutorials! Do you by chance have links to the products you’ve used and bought for this particular project? Looking to start something similar this week and am super confused on what to use and what to buy!

Hi Hanna! If you look in the description of the video I link most of the main tools that I use throughout this project. Hope that helps!
You’re amazing!!

This looks incredible! I have a question. Why did you use that thin piece of wood between the cabinet and the wall to add it to drill it into the studs? Does it protect the wall?
She did that to keep it plumb and level. Most walls and floors are not perfectly flat.
Awesome job on everything you do !! What year was house built ? Ours was built in 1955 we have plaster walls and I hate them Have you had any experience with plastered walls ? Keep up the great job you do my dad was a carpenter I could watch you all day ok sometimes I do lol . Be Blessed
I am stunned watching your work. You are amazing. Are you also a consultant?

Beautiful build. The only concern I have is the 2x10 wood you are using is not dry and will crack and bend on you in a year or so. Any thoughts?
Great work Stefani. Good thing you had some expert help from your pilot husband for your first time on how to use a planer! 8:53
Is there a cost breakdown on this project like you did for your closet?
If it is not too much trouble can you please of your take or thoughts on using the Ryobi tools, and which other tool system would you recommend along with Ryobi?
Did you have to use a jointer or planer for the shelving? I find the 1x12s are often warped and make it difficult to use
How did you attach the countertop to the cabinets? Was it those plastic corner peices I saw?
Hey Tiffanie it’s me Clinton, question how do you get the sketch the sketching for your project how do you we found it?
How long did this it take you to get this far with the project?
drinking is definitely part of this family
You made a nice shelves!
If you don’t mind, please tell me the name of corner clamp your using.
I subscribed you. I’m looking forward seeing your video again!

Home Depot! They're the Hampton Bay brand 👍

bravo, you are mazing
Waiting for the electricians to show up in the comments. Nice job though.
Butting cabinets right next to the wall usually renders the door useless as it wont open
What is the name of the tool to cut the baseboard
