As an ex conservative, these guys are in deep and it's pretty funny to look at it from a more progressive pov now. They really think they're the average conservative and not far right...
Everyone thinks they’re the most rational being on earth because I’m betting most people win arguments with themselves in their own heads and never really hear others out. I came from a far more conservative position than I am now and I realized a few years ago I was trained by my media consumption to not actually listen to people or information and engage, I was trained to listen for a pattern or a phrase or a word and create the rest of their argument (regardless of if what they’re saying deviated or not) in my head and regurgitate the approved talking points and shut my brain off. I probably still do that with certain things.
As a Right winger, I have to say that right wingers on the panel were so bad faith, considering the Left side has Destiny and Lonerbox, two of the most good faith Leftists/Centrist I know, and Dylan is doing lots of good stuff on UA. How can someone blunder a debate/discussion with one of the most good faith Leftists so much? I felt bad for Left side basically wasting their time on those right side clowns.
Is there a good faith right winger you can point to? lol. The core issue is they just didn’t understand destiny and the panel madness took over. There’s clearly a distinction between the rittenhouse story and the Cambridge kids story. The more complicated the story, the less complete the picture, and the more room for legitimate interpretation there is. I think it’s perhaps the panelists see the gray as a rounding error and interpret it as hypocrisy. A trait I see far too often in these conservative debates. The worst was the sort of weird argument conflating social media and “the media” where destiny is hypocritical for calling his social media interlocutors bad faith but not MSM. I’m not sure I understand the connection other than he agrees social media influences people like a media outlet could. Problem is no one is gonna deny social media is stuffed full of lies. I also thought it was cute they tried to hide behind ToS over the dominion lawsuit. At this point it doesn’t even matter what the facts are about the election. To Fox New’s knowledge the story was fake. There’s direct evidence of Fox hosts lying on air now. This is the most clear instance of media corruption, an example of extreme bad faith, exactly what the conservative side was looking for. But they ignored it? Also if you want real proof tje election wasn’t stolen. Fox. With all the money and reason in the world to find the faintest evidence, failed. They wanted it to be real so bad they decided to simply lie about it. If there was anything to find, fox would have. That should be the end of the election lie story

It's self-explanatory, but Andrew and others were so thirsty for a "Gotcha" moment, they ended up looping for 30 minutes, making a fool of themselves.
People can disagree and still be factually incorrect. Just because somebody CAN think something doesn't make it logically coherent. Kyle Rittenhouse didn't murder anybody. He didn't aggress on anybody. He didn't instigate any confrontations. There is zero evidence anywhere that suggests that he aggressed or instigated or used excessive force. In order to claim Kyle Rittenhouse murdered somebody, you are explicitly stating that this evidence exists. It IS, whether you choose to accept it or not, a blatant lie to suggest Kyle Rittenhouse murdered somebody, unless you can provide something that amounts to evidence of aggression. CNN can't do that. The USSR was indeed propped up by the USA: the food stolen from the kulaks was used to pay for the Ford factories later converted to produce Tanks to invade Poland. If NY Times didn't lie about the USSR, perhaps it would get less such support, and wouldn't be able to provide support to the Nazi's in the 1930's. Then perhaps it would not be able to stab Poland in the back, perform all the mass murders, and dodge its own Nuremberg trials once it finally collapsed. Then Twitch and TH-cam would not have channels of Tankies with the hammer and sickle logo brainwashing the next generation of commie slaves. Media omissions have consequences.
I appreciate Robs efforts in putting this together. But, as soon as panelists prattle on about "THE media", "BIG tech", "BIG pharma", "BIG govt", I pretty much call the panel a wash and bust out the wine. There's no point in attempting to take any of it seriously.

12 Rules to debate like a right winger: 1) change definitions as needed 2) if facts don’t support your argument, blame it on “the agenda.” 3) keep “the agenda” perpetrators vague so no one can disprove the malevolence of a particular person. 4) buy an sm57 microphone and a large American flag 5) that’s really it, and that’s the point-pivot before you have to finish a coherent thought or claim.

First off, I don't see a single SM57 on the panel. The 2 on the top right are using SM7b. Second, both the SM57 and SM7b are industry standard dynamic microphones for vocals because they have an incredibly natural frequency response, and anybody would be lucky to have one in their setup.
I think most of these guys don't actually read any mainstream articles about political events. I think they get all their opinions of "main stream media" from what people are saying on youtube or twitter. Which is why they couldn't provide any real examples of mainstream media lying about something and instead the debate divulged into weird semantics of narratives or the difference between a fact or an opinion.
Its an obfuscation technique. Half truths, misrepresentations, outright falsehoods, layer upon layer of bullshit smokescreen. It's like an advanced motte and bailey technique. They will never stake anything meaningful on one claim, there will always be another and another and they are all virtually undebatable in their minds. Even if you manage to pin them down on one issue, they go "but all the others" and continue to roll the goalpost down the hill. Jumping ship from one to another as they sink, with no end in sight. I believe for many of these ideologues its an intentional rhetorical tactic used in order to set up a insurmountable argument that cannot be deconstructed, disputed, or addressed, without an inhuman time investment.

"that's not what we're saying" *Proceeds to reword exactly what Destiny said* Yet another two hour lesson on how two things can be true. I can't believe people rally behind these guys as thought leaders.
There's a difference between "not saying every fact and having a bias" and omitting facts that you know are important because you know it doesn't promote the message or narrative that you're selling. Different media outlets are different levels of this. Alternative media is not immune, daily wire is one of the worst offenders. But, you wouldn't be wrong to point out that this is largely bottom up or atleast cylical from what the viewers want to see (again, to varying degrees depending on outlet).
In my experience, alternative media actually tends to be significantly worse for accuracy than mainstream media. And I DON'T intend that statement as a complement to the quality of your average mainstream media outlet! Interestingly, some of the oldest media outlets I've found to be the most favorite reliable. The Associated Press and Reuters are both pushing towards 200 years of reporting, at this point! I guess it helps to have a long history of journalistic standards to help guide your reporters.
I had to do a test for a scholarship yesterday and one of the 4 main types of tasks was: you are presented with a statistic or a diagram about a topic you know nothing about and are given a short text giving minimal context. Your task is then to look at two conclusions given and determine wether these conclusions can be derived by the statistic/diagram. I would be highly interested in having some people on this panel do this test…
This was one of the worst in a while. Just the whole conservative team was just... not remotely willing to engage with the point. There is an interesting conversation you could feasibly have but they were just never able to get there after 140 minutes of bad faith and the world's most leading questions.
The failure to understand the difference between intentionally omitting information and doing so maliciously is so brain rotting. How are these guys adults.
1:08 isn't that the problem though? News shouldn't be about what people WANT to see. It should be about what people need to see. News shouldn't be an echo chamber just like school shouldn't be about giving children what they want. The fact that most media is so focused on revenue and therefore completely focused only on giving people what they WANT to see, is causing the slow devolution of society. In an environment full of difficulties and challenges, people might strive to grow and evolve. However, in an environment of privilege and abundance, the natural tendency of humans is to regress to the lowest state of energy. This amounts to hours of mindless social media, dating apps, gambling, drugs, sex, etc. Nihilism and hedonism are at the core of human nature and without some sort of external force, humans will always naturally seek those states of being. If anyone hasn't seen the TV show Newsroom, I highly recommend it to everyone.
News outlets are privately run and as such are at the mercy of the market forces. If people don't want to hear your news, you either change the news you tell or you lose your money.
All this tells me is that the fundamental reason for the lack of objective unbiased reporting in the media is the profit incentive. What's your proposed solution? Listening to these partisan hacks isn't exactly an upgrade.
@@sathrielsatanson I hate this "capitalism corrupts everything" mindset. Conclusion: Dronetek arguement is fine, but it also applies to fox news and other right wing media sources. Rob was fine as a host. The rest are unable to unable to acknowledge that when presented with these facts: man, gun, shoot, death, could possibly lead to someone thinking that a murder was commited. Lonerbox just had no opportunity to engage in the panel when they couldn't even get past that.
"The rest are unable to acknowledge that when presented with these facts: man, gun, shoot, death, could possibly lead to someone thinking that a murder was commited". But the premise was "if they were presented with all of the facts". Those facts don't just include all of the evidence presented in court. Those facts also include very intricate and explicit legal definitions, of which absolutely ZERO reasonable people could EVER conclude that Kyle Rittenhouse "murdered". anybody. Murder requires intent, aggression, and excessive force. Kyle Rittenhouse intended to harm, but there's no evidence that suggests he intended to kill. Kyle Rittenhouse ran away, so he's obviously not the aggressor or the instigator. Kyle Rittenhouse shot an average of 2 bullets per person, and only 2 of them were lethal, and in every instance it was as a last resort, so I don't think any reasonable person could ever argue that the amount of force he used was excessive. This last point is the only remotely gray area, so to suggest that Kyle Rittenhouse is a "murderer" without providing any evidence that disproves any of the points above is either gross negligence or blatant lying. Destiny is very precise with choosing whether or not to call people "insane" or "mentally ill", usually citing some sort of logical inconsistency that the person isn't capable of grasping. You would necessarily be Destiny's definition of insane to come to the conclusion that Kyle Rittenhouse murdered anybody, because there is no possible logical argument to be made against self-defense with the information currently present. If you have all of the information, there is only one correct answer. It's 2+2=4, and you're claiming that a reasonable person might be able to figure out some possible way that 2+2=5 is somehow a reasonable interpretation, when that's just not possible.
The best part of this video is the clip where Rob impersonates Vaush and chat starts to spam cringe emotes, but then they see Destiny laugh and the omegaluls erupt. Not a cult btw

So here’s a scenario: let’s say I meet somebody at a party , I introduce myself, tell them what college I went to, what job I have, all that good stuff. Later on at that party somebody asks me my middle name and I tell them, the person I was talking to early goes “you didn’t tell me that ! You’re a liar” Did I lie by omission? No. I was talking about myself but a middle name isn’t integral to talking about myself. It’s basically unimportant. So if I’m trying to build an image of myself , talking about my middle name is basically unnecessary When someone says the media is cutting parts of the narrative out, it’s usually stuff like that. Omitting parts of a situation that are just extraneous. You’re fighting for peoples attention spans so you don’t want to give a bunch of unnecessary info. I think you can have healthy amounts of skepticism, but pinning that as malicious intent is lowkey…kinda schizo 💀
What a dishonest analogy. No-one on the right is claiming the media is hiding unimportant stuff. In your analogy you would omit the fact you were a JANITOR at the college rather than a student when claim you "went there". THAT is pretty much what alot of media does.
@@adamgarner4149 wrong. That’s exactly what the people on the right are saying. And in fact, your analogy is the dishonest one. Because not saying you were a janitor at the college you “attended” is an intentional obfuscation. It’s you going out of the way to misrepresent yourself. The people on the left are saying that stuff that isn’t important to the story gets dropped, and THAT is intentional. But there isn’t a malicious reframing going on. In your analogy and in the minds of the people on the right, the framing IS malicious and targeted. If you leave out your middle name, you made that decision consciously or unconsciously because it doesn’t really matter. To say that they’re maliciously leaving out info is a reach. But I feel like you recognized that. You recognized that in my analogy, leaving out your middle name wouldn’t be wrong. Just doing exactly what they hate the media does
Is there a good faith right winger you can point to?

The USSR was indeed propped up by the USA: the food stolen from the kulaks was used to pay for the Ford factories later converted to produce Tanks to invade Poland. If NY Times didn't lie about the USSR, perhaps it would get less such support, and wouldn't be able to provide support to the Nazi's in the 1930's. I believe for many of these ideologues its an intentional rhetorical tactic used in order to set up a insurmountable argument that cannot be deconstructed, disputed, or addressed, without an inhuman time investment.

Daily Wire is the Young Turks for 90s Conservatives.

That BLM dunk was hilarious
25:31 that was just brutal.

I wouldn't really even invoke IQ for the conduct of this panel, it's something far worse. It's like the far right of this panel is lacking basic sense, and most of them were rude as fuck too.
This one guy basically said: don't you think the media is working for one side? And then said that he is only talking about democrat leaning media. This is a joke, it's embarassing.
37:16 Here we see tactics of "da Left!1!!1!" where both allies synchronize their drinking patterns to own de cons and that one ancap guy
based
Idk how much longer I can handle people just screaming back and forth. It's getting tiresome to listen to people not have a conversation and interrupt anyone trying to get a single point out.
I was just thinking this, they need to let each other finish their points.
@@kamifuujin right? who tf was the moderators on this panel? legit any time dylan or destiny tried to get a point. You had 5 people cutting them off and then Kasimir would ramble for fucking 10 minutes at a time, and he'd be like LET ME FINISH.. like ??
@@Shayanzass was just a blood sport debate 🤷 waste of time.
Wait… wait… is he playing StarCraft? Jesus ducking Christ. It means that from now I need just a single TH-cam channel to fulfil all my entertainment needs.
is there a way to mute Destiny's game? Please. Please mute the game. Please. PLEEEEEASE!
Starcraft is even less relevant than fucking league, and its so much louder for no reason.
Holy fuck, the right is not sending their best to these debates.
"OAN is progressive" lmfao what????
Andrew is so threatened by Destiny lol. He thinks about how much smarter Destiny is and dies on stage.
So here’s a scenario: let’s say I meet somebody at a party , I introduce myself, tell them what college I went to, what job I have, all that good stuff. Later on at that party somebody asks me my middle name and I tell them, the person I was talking to early goes “you didn’t tell me that ! You’re a liar”
Did I lie by omission? No. I was talking about myself but a middle name isn’t integral to talking about myself. It’s basically unimportant. So if I’m trying to build an image of myself , talking about my middle name is basically unnecessary
When someone says the media is cutting parts of the narrative out, it’s usually stuff like that.
But in your analogy, the way your past was worded was intentional in the way it was confusing. I feel like you recognize there’s a meaningful difference between those two you just believe the media is doing the latter

Finally a political debate, this is what I want. Thank you @Destiny
Right as they were saying “there’s no conservative news media!” I got a PragerU add LULW
Throwing grenades......uh I mean fireworks. Best part of the whole panel
this like another debate where destiny is in where he almost cant get a word in with out being cutoff
Part of the tactic is to derail any point that may go against the narrative they have been spinning since the start.
Honestly, I don't know what anyone bothered with this panel, bad faith shouty fascists screaming at "the left" and noone on the left being allowed to talk...
I'd literally never bother with anyone else on this panel if I was Loner or Dylan.
37:59 you know his gonna be bath faith moving forward the moment he said Germany’s ww2 party was on the left
Depends how you define ‘left.’ Nazism was socialist in nature, but it was ethnic socialism. (Socialism as a concept existed much prior to Marx)
If we use German Man's own words. Race is a integral part of the ideology and what separates us from being confused with Marxists.
The idiotic takes on the far right in this panel is just devoid of logic and reason wholly.
