      ***** You're a woefully naive buffoon. Your stupid comment means nothing coming from a keyboard warrior who's fighting experience consists of uneducated insults on the internet of all places. You assumed I drove a civic and were wrong, and then assumed I was uneducated, wrong again. I would put my college transcripts up against yours any day. That's assuming You graduated High school. Based on your preposterous assumptions I'm probably giving you too much credit. Even a ten year old child from Kabul who is not allowed to attend school knows the difference between a solider and a PJ. It is literally impossible to be a PJ and be uneducated. It's an oxymoron. I wanted to give a compliment to Evo for doing something rarely done, but you turned into this raging dirty cunt, with out provocation. If you hate America or soldiers this is not the place to write about it. Seriously EVO should block your ass so you go back to riding your donkey. Then go fuck yourself.

    I took delivery of my 3.4 991 about three months ago and am in love with it. I waited for the new car since I drove the 997 and wasn't impressed with the ride: to me that car made no sense unless driven fast because the ride was choppy at low speeds. In contrast, you can have great fun with the 991 under 100 KPH and even tooling around town. The ride and suspension are superb and I have no quarrel with the steering except for a little squeaky noise which will be sorted out. The feel is great.

      I have got the 991 C2s , my fourth year owning it now. Im satisfied with the car overall but have also had problems with a very slight squeaky noise especially when i release the throttle and also some minor door rattling noise. These noises are very faint but am curious to hear if your problems have been resolved and what caused them

      @@Jozobozo1234 The grey Carrera 2 was a wonderful car, put 30000 km on it by 2020 and for some reason traded it in for a 991.2 GTS. It is in a different league from the C2 but can't say I enjoy it any more. They're both great cars.

    • @oeiras99
      @oeiras99 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mrtruthshallprevail 6 years late but better late than never. The squeak in the steering was caused by an electrical problem, I think the steering yoke? Fixed under warranty. I traded my C2 in on a 991.2 GTS, a deal I could not refuse in 2020, and am still driving it. No rattles in either car.

    The positive change with the 991 is that it makes you more confident when pushing it hard. I have a 991 350hp PDK with sports suspention, at the Nûrburgring it is just in its perfect habitat. Here is my inboard video 7.46 BTG lap. Sports exhaust with fantastic sound, the car is probably good for a 7.45 lap (sport auto 20.600m) with pro driver.
    If you want to see my lap search for " Nürburgring BTG 7.46 Porsche 991 "

    For you the main criteria is acceleration and cornering speed. But different drivers have different preferences. Like steering feel, tractability, how neutral the balance is, braking, sound, handling and so on.

    Allow me to make it easier for you. The cars that you've mentioned may be good. they may be brilliant. But ALL of them are derivations of sedans. The 911 (991) is a proper sports-car and was designed right from the begining to be a sports-car.

    that's what I felt about the base model 991 911. I am so used to a tuned GTR's straight line acceleration and cornering performance. Whenever I exchange rides with friends I usually ended up feeling disappointed. M3 for example, felt slow, oversteers easily, not steady at speed over 200km/h, R8 V8, sadly too slow, but comfy to ride.
    Only when I drove the 997 Turbo S did I feel ,"hmm..this fast car is way more refined than my GTR.
    I think the 991 Turbo S is going to be amazing.

    i love the 993, 996, and 997. Here in america a 1997 standard carrera with 99000 miles goes for 37000 dollars. its a shame they cost so much, they just look so classic. The 996 did a good job of breaking the millennium with a fresh look, and the 997 brought back the iconic look with a new era shape. This just doesn't do it for a hardcore porsche fanatic like myself

  • @chaloo212mx
    @chaloo212mx 12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    There are so many ways you can look at this car. One is that this is a better CAR than the previous model, the 997, so you may prefer this new one. But if you are a 911 enthousiast you may think that this has lost a bit of characteristics that the 911 used to have. And than you have the haters that disagree on everything about the 911 because the engine is at the back.
    This is a brilliant car, but it a few years it may not be called a 911 again.

    A 911 Carrera facelift is coming in 2015, which will most likely be fitted with the GT3's steering. Still electric, but better tuned much more feel. That steering is regarded as the best electric system there is, so some of the feel will be regained.

      Yeah and damn turbos that put another spanner in the works.. And all this because of the sheer size of modern cars, their weight and quite frankly all the SHIT that they have to load them up with.. Imagine how economical the new 911's would be weighing 950kgs like they used to but with all the modern trickery

    hey may can help you, ive just driven the 991 carrera before 2 days, you will not find a lot cars with 350Hp that go llike this one, i did drive with 275kmh on the german motorway, with the 7 gear PDK its just perfekt, like everthing on this car. the full consumtion is not that high to, cause its able to sail without losing any speed, one push on the accelerator and the engine is back to work. M3 is a great car too, but i would take the porsche with out questioning, its not cheap but worth it

    interesting. I have to say the looks don't convince me either, especially the backside.

    The difference between the two is enormous. I've driven a previous gen Ford Focus - hydraulic PAS - and a current gen Fiesta - electric PAS. The Focus' steering is sharp and lively with massive amounts of feedback and a nice weight, the Fiesta is dull, lifeless and has so little feedback and is so light that the car wanders about in its lane at speed. The electric PAS ruins what is otherwise a fantastic chassis.

    The big issue with this car appears to be the steering, which means in that respect at least, the 997 is better. But does a slightly less connected steering wheel overshadow the improved qualities of the 991 over the previous car (such as ride, luxury, rear track, balance, performance)?

    • @MagicAyrtonforever
      @MagicAyrtonforever 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 997.2 already had fairly numb steering.. even though it is hydraulic.. all the feel is being taken away.. electric steering and handbrake, automated gearboxes etc etc..
