Did you save that old pump? You can still get a rebuild kit for it and its a 20 thousand hour pump vs the HF pump thats only 10 thousand at best. The directions for setting the switch pressure are inside the switch cap if you turn it over.
Couples things I recommend for you . Put an automatic tank drain on the bottom of your tank . Also look into getting a magnetic starter . It will increase the life of your motor . They sell them for 3hp , 5hp, and so on.
Vevor isn't bad at all, low cost and they have a wide diverse range. I bought lab supplies and glassware a few times. Stuff is good and durable, lots of cheap labware isn't so for $200 I got 4 boiling flasks, 4 condensers, a few Erlenmeyers, and a couple adapters all 24/40 borosilicate. I'd be paying at least double, to quadruple for decent or better quality most people run to. Vevor does good, I haven't done electrical stuff yet.
Nice job. That's some good work. I have a similar compressor and have been thinking for years about swapping the single phase motor over to three phase. I have a few spare VFDs laying around that would give me speed control of the compressor. I've always wondered if you'd still need an unloader valve with the zero RPM torque of a 3 phase motor.
It's hard to tell how thin the walls of the tank are - a lot of people don't drain the tanks and they rust. It becomes a big bomb with the power to kill and/or cause structural damage to buildings....not worth it.
Couldn't wait to see that keyway go flying when the new motor was started!!!
Haha, it had a cover on it! Didn't really think about it at the time though 🤣

I like that idea, I will look into those!

@@CondorrK gotta love that!!

That would be perfect! That's a good question too, makes sense, maybe not lol
Never had good luck only using teff tape.. always use the tape and dope both.. never get any leaks..
Blue monster tape has done me well! The test of time will tell! Lol

Take a part the old compressor and see why it falled or maybe you can fix it first.
Aluminum compressors usually destroy themselves if they lock up!! Cast iron is better for longevity! Not a bad idea though
Nice job, How is the vevor motor and harbor freight pump holding up so far? Would you recommend them?
@@bobatbilletcreations I use it every single day! It's been awesome 👌
Pressure switch has a screw adjustment against spring pressure. Looser the screw lower pressure
I figured that out after, I might look into getting a 150 psi blow off valve instead of 125 also
@@NaztyNatebefore you do that check what the tank pressure is rated for .
Your best truck you ever owned was your white Duramax nazty Nate I'm in love with it that way I witch you and love witch you ever day of my life
Link for air pump?
I'll add it to the description!
Had to do a double take on the name.. saw nazy nate like right.. lol
That belt is to loose
You powerwashed the motor, they do not like that
@zedicus11 maybe that's why it blew up! Lol. It did have a few weeks to dry out tho..
