Best video I’ve seen so far. The wiring is what I’m confused about but seeing your setup helps. I saw the 2 power wires from battery out of the harness into 1 power into the head unit harness and was uhhh ok need to start looking into this. Glad to see that grouping the wires is actually a thing.
Hey thanks for mentioning what my extra unused harnesses back there are for! I don't have heated seats or rear power window..but sure is nice to know that it'd be an easy install.
It looks you have to get the PAC wiring thing 🤨 we just tried doing with a straight Chrysler harness and doesn’t work hooked red too yellow and goes consent power but not on ignition
Hey you mentioned the two blue wires that connect the the blue on the head unit, was that to bypass the amp the truck comes with? I'm getting no sound out of mine and I tired putting those three blue wires together and still no sound. Any suggestions?
No I actually kept the factory amp and connected the 3 blue wires to power it. I also ran into an issue with the speaker wires at first since I used the factory amp I only had two speaker outputs instead of 4. I would call crutchfield even if you didn’t buy it from them them they are super helpful
@@BASgarage I watched the rest of the video and I wired all the speakers like Normal, today I'm gonna wire them they way you explained at 12.05 part and hope it all works. Thanks for the reply
@@BASgarage so I tried it with the color patterns you mentioned and connected the 2 blues to the antenna power on on the deck and still no sound. I connected the deck ground to the harness, would a weak ground not let it turn on even tho the deck is on?
I did not I haven’t hooked up XM radio yet. Maybe that’s it 🤔 Haven’t done much to the truck since it started having problems. So far everything seems to be good so plan to start doing more with it
Do you need an adapter plug that plugs into the wire from the truck to the wire of the radio? How about the adapter for the antenna? Because I’m installing soon and I seen dash kits. Should I get the one with the two adapters or just the one that comes with the brackets?
Ok one more time then… OK I have had problems with my pioneer AVH 120 with my 2007 dodge ram quad cab 1500 four-wheel-drive 5.7 hemi OK anyways what I was saying the last comment is I’m having problems with my Ford channel scar amp it’s brand new and I bought a brand new wiring harness in a brand new pioneer AVH 120 OK I got the scosche wiring harness kit which is basically the same as I’ve noticed on all these videos I watched and yours I don’t believe you have a scosche I think it’s a metra maybe anyways same color codes I wired my fortune Óscar rent 2Z harness where it’s plugging into the Dodge OEM right before it does speaker wires they go to the correct colors up to the front to the front of the tip I put the front colors which is whatever it was him I believe it was you know grays and whites right and the purples in the green I believe were in the rears so I ran those from the amp to and then splicing in before the wiring harness snapped into the OEM in the back and all I hear all I can get to play is channels one and two but they are in the rear speaker the rear speakers are playing instead of it being where it supposed to be on channel 3 and four strange right? If there’s anything you could help me with I really appreciate it and thank you a lot man this video help me tons I just wanted to tell you thank you and I would really could use some help also I have one more issue I have to re-every time I shut the truck off I have to reset everything because it’s it’s like it’s turning it off and all the power is cutting off to it I don’t know maybe I I think maybe I wired the red which should be the 12 V I think the 12 V that’s not the consul I want to put the constant to the wire that to the left cigarette lighter OK well I wired everything to that actually because I was getting exhausted and mad at it is this a reason why it’s shutting off and not able to keep the you know the memory on the pioneer? I’m stuck on stupid on this and also when I shut the truck off I have wired the key no the green wire which is the emergency brake for the DVD player I wire that together to the ground I know you’re not supposed to don’t tell anyone lol but it is that little trick you know to bypass the emergency brake to watch the movies so I did that but when I shut off the truck that also I have to unhook the Hino pull the butt connectors apart and all the black cable use every time to watch a movie I had to pull the deck out and redo it it’s getting really crazy and then I’m at I’m at like over a week now like this and it’s all brand new and I just found out today that the rear speakers are blown from scar in the front speakers that scar told me that they were more than likely effective which I don’t believe they are because they look totally fine to me but they’ve never played that one day I’m just having a really hard time with this and if it’s possible to help me I’d really appreciate it man you seem like someone I could understand you know what I mean thanks man I really appreciate again Dan
Not sure I can help much but I would try giving Crutchfield a call they where super helpful 1-844-352-8795. I’m not sure but does your truck still have the stock amp if so that me be causing your problems if you have it and remove it I believe you can wire in all your speaker wires from your after market radio and have 4 zones front back right left. I know with the factory am you only have front and back
I used an aftermarket antenna and just put it under the dash it worked some spots it would loose signal but on the highway it was good. I think you can tie into the stock satellite antenna but I didn’t try it.
So that pac harness is to keep factory amp from what I know so if I wanted in the future to add a aftermarket amp for subs do I just plug them in to my stereo or would it not work with my factory amp?
Great explanation. I've never been so stumped on a stereo install. Dodge made it difficult on these trucks!
Glad I could help
I did mine the same way but still no power to my radio
@@AtwoodBoxinghaving the same issue, how did you fix it

Thank you so far I’m very happy with it.

I'm on my 2nd aftermarket unit.. in 3 months. Bad wire caused a fire.
Pac sells the USB your looking for
My unit came with an amp, I don't have navigation. Do I need the amp?
Curious if there is a block off plate we can get for the hole on the lower right opposite of the 4wd selector. I'd like to add in actual usb plugs
I swapped out the 12V plugs for Blue Sea USB ports, so i now have 4 USB ports in the dash.

Yea you will need an adapter for the antenna and also the stock truck wires to the aftermarket radio wires
