She isn't a grappler whatsoever, Manon and Zangief are the only grapplers in the game. I'd say she's more of a footsies character hence why you want to build up her stocks in order to apply pressure.

One thing you didn’t mention that makes her even harder to beat is that after command grab, if Lily has a windclad stock she can do instant EX condor spire and it beats any reversal normal, even wakeup 4f. On block it's +8 and leaves lily in range for another command grab. It even beats drive impact

Im baffled, played jamie for like 40 hours and managed to barely reach gold, picked up lily because i liked her new costume so i watched this video and with 8 wins out of 10 in placements got diamond 2. thanks for showing me the way jiyuna
Man you make this look so easy haha. I wanna play Lily but I'm struggling with her in Iron league, and normally I'm Silver with Ryu. I think the hardest part is getting used to the ideal range for the heavy attack. Too far and you whiff and get punished. Too close and they usually beat you with a light or medium attack.

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Basic bread and butter strat for most situations that I'll adjust as i get better with her. Great video!

Btw windclad condor spire into heavy command throw basically has a 100% success rate for the first 3 throws until they learn they can't press anything. Nobody knows the matchup because no one plays her.
Windclad spire into command grab actually loses to 4f normals, since you're only +1. It's still basically a 50/50 between command grab (beats blocking) and LK->LP->Buster (beats jump or 4f normal) Or I guess they can DP too which adds a third layer but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm gonna hit buttons. That and people have this irrational hatred of small cute girl characters so I'm kinda in on that too.
Many people DI the gap however If you do down heavy into light wind stock you have enough time to DI back. It means you can still stock up relatively safely

@@Darkloid21 "just jump" is what makes it a mixup. If you make the read on the command grab and they read your jump, you eat a 2HP or a dp.

Loving Lily! After the drive impact hits I always command throw for big damage and heavy knockdown with space allows to bank 1-2 charges

For zoners use jump up neutral and use air special or parry drive rush
When wind clad, ex condor spire goes through projectiles
In the corner od spire combos into od dp. And hp>condor wind>lvl 3 is a thing
