I recently came across your channel while researching retro PC setups. I’ve been wanting to recreate that classic gaming experience from my childhood, and your videos have been incredibly entertaining and inspiring. Love the content, thanks for bringing back the nostalgia! Just subscribed and excited to see more!
Fair review and some very substantial points, the cost was half of where I thought this was going; excellent build quality for those with the right setup and space, nice to see you review something NOT handheld with an XX, X X, and X in it’s name!!
My son just told me this morning that he wants an arcade cabinet for Christmas. I was thinking of going the diy route for us to build one together. I’d love to see an update on your arcade.
Me: "hmmmm, dozens of youtubers I subscribe to are covering the election, which stream should I... hey, new TechDweeb video, the election can, and will, wait!"
This is pretty sweet!!!! I want to build an arcade upright for emulation and just haven't had time/space/money all align up at the same time. For the price that isn't too bad... you wouldn't be able to make it by yourself with the rgb and all the software compatibility. Awesome deal actually
Cool video. I think , for the right price, selling the pedestal on its own with minor tweaks so you can attach your own arcade sticks would be awesome. I personally have 8bitdo arcade sticks.
It would be perfect if they added a spinner knob for Arknoid, Tempest, Tron, Heavy Barrel and tons more... I still consider the Atari Single Player USB Fight Stick Microcenter exclusive to be the best commercial joystick
10:30 nice to see I'm not the only one that plays Bot Vice on a joy stick. Super fun game feels like it was made to be played in the arcades. DYA Games makes some cool stuff. Been using the 8-Bitdo arcade stick but I think this 30 degree angle will be better for my wrists. I'm liking it a lot. The stand looks awesome for some stand up game play too.
Worth the price. Better than an Arcade1up. Get a old console x system to hook up to it and your TV and there you go. 👍🏾 I've always been a pedestal guy
Please do a video on your tabletop gaming stuff. Dweebery shall not be limited to tech! In personal news no one cares about, I've found my Powkiddy V90 which I haven't seen in months. Got separated from it as I left for the frontlines ("come on, in and out, a 20-minutes mission"... yeah, right), then the two of us travelled separately all over the country. Gave up hope of ever seeing it again. And now we're reunited once more. And it still works, despite being lugged around by uncaring hands and thrown about in the cold and the damp. I'm... genuinely happy with this fact. The V90 really doesn't get enough credit.
Been using an old school X-Arcade set up for years. The build quality they adhere to has not changed. The trackball they manufacture is one of the best. I would say the only thing you may want to do is sacrifice one button on Player 2 and drop in one GRS USB Button Hole Spinner to do some badass Tempest. Found one area to drill a hole for a dedicated 4-Way joystick. Unfortunately the set I had I got super cheap at a Goodwill for 40 bones and I let it sit in my storage shed for 5 or so years in Alaska weather. Gutted the hardware and replaced everything with Sanwa but you cannot replace that trackball. Bought the replacement direct from X-Arcade and I am back in heaven. This set up makes me think I need to upgrade now. Especially since VR is another dimension albeit niche.
I’m glad i found your channel ,your awesome 😎 brother I’m glad 🙂 you live in the same time frame 🖼️ I live in ,The world needs more brilliant minds like yours ,With respect 🫡 much love long life and thanks 🙏 for helping me with your knowledge 😊
The Tank Stick Max has spinners! That makes all the difference for me. I need trackball and spinners like the AtGames Legends Ultimate. I have the Gamer Pro, but it doesn't have spinners. Also, it's half the price. I don't need the stand or the RGB, just the joystick please.
I love seeing new product like this Arcade stick....really nice stuff from X-Arcade!...I've always known that company making some nice quality feeling arcade buttons and controls. A few years ago I already adopted a cheaper option to capture this classic retro arcade feel when the Atgames Legends Gamer pro was on sale for $100 (& currently $200+ on ebay ). The X-arcade 2 player stick also went for $125 about 2 or 3 years ago... . But this stick looks nicer and comes with a stand, so I can imagine the quality feeling a little better. On arcade sticks like Atgames and these, I noticed the trackball will roll more smoothly when it is at an incline..and this one has that advantage already from the design.
I don't see why it wouldn't work well with the deck. It's Xinput, and it's registered as 2 xbox controllers, so I think it should be good to go just with a usbc adapter.
One time i converted my desk to a standing desk by stacking up a bunch of filing cabinets and putting my monitors on top, but i wanted to use my fightstick so i just opened one of the drawers and put it on there, and in that moment i realized wh they were called "Arcade cabinets"
Im so jealous on a whole different level 😠 but being serious note the price is super high and you would maybe want to change the buttons and ball top to your taste awesome review Dweeb 👍
All I could taste when I watched this video was conchord grapes and pectin because I was so freaking jelly. ps: the deck needs spinners to accomodate games where things ... uh ... spin.
Awesome video as always Dweebs B) Btw what is that UI theme thing @1:34? (The one with the diagonally-slanted thumbnails that says "players"?) I keep seeing it everywhere, even on my own devices, and I have no idea what it is and where to find it lol
0:41 - Yes. I built an arcade stick and emulated JRPGs are indeed way better that way :) Also, if you like this setup, you may want to take a look at the Qanba 2009.
@techdweeb Hey man! You need an electric screwdriver 😳 You can get a bit set where you can have all kinds of ends so you don’t have to give yourself bad wrists. Saves us SO much time!
I’m with ya on the VR stance there, Dweeb! Price seems fair, but wish there was an even cheaper, non-VR version for those of us who have no use for it.
@@ge2719I was thinking keep it the same price and somehow fit some spinners on here. I wonder if they can make spinners that can be used as both paddle and driving controllers?
You scratched your floor! Techdweeb, your mom is going to be so mad at you! Buy her some rootbeer and flowers to make up for it. If she likes rootbeer as much as you.
So what is the comparison versus the Pandora boxes Tech Dweeb? I mean the Pandora Boxes or just even getting one of those Retro Shooters. I would love to see a video about that.
Hey, at some point could you talk about your diy arcade cab? I've always wanted to build something like that, but I just don't have the confidence and yours looks so simple. Pleeeeeaaase? I'll provide the root beer
The design looks like it should have a built in tv mount/mount for whatever system you want to use on it. Looks really odd just being a solo controller connected remotely from the display.
iI think it is way over priced. I have built a few of my own control panels before. my newest build is 6/8 In 1 Retro Arcade Console Game Joystick Rocker Wireless Bluetooth Wired Fighting Controller for Nintendo Switch PS4 PS3 PC $16.00 I bought 2 of them so now $32.00 Ali-express The rest of the parts are Amazon Sanwa 8 pcs OBSF-30 Original Push Button 30mm - for Arcade Jamma Video Game & Arcade Joystick Games Console (White) S@NWA $25.00 x 2 =$50.00 SANWA JLF-TP-8YT Joystick Dark Blue Original - for Arcade Jamma Game 4 & 8 Way Adjustable, Compatible with Catz Mad SF4 Tournament Joystick (Dark Blue Ball Top), Use for Arcade Machine Cabinet S@NWA $35.00 x 2 = $70.00 USB Arcade Game Trackball Mouse Illuminated LED Round 4.5cm USB Connector with Bracket Kit $43.00 total $195.00 Much better parts. ( Real Arcade Parts) Bluetooth. and player 1 and player 2 are not shoulder to shoulder . With a a Trackball . less than 1/2 the cost waiting for all my parts to show up.
No spinners, no buy. Sorry, for $500 you would at least expect spinners, seeing as this is marketed as an arcade controller. Speaking of marketing, this is marketed as a VR arcade controller, although it can obviously be used as an emulator arcade controller. For VR, this could possibly be the answer for the free VR "ArcadeTimeCapsule", where you could just put this is the middle of your VR space, and have real arcade controls.
well.. sorry but I'm an arcade child.... And since USA was beaten by Japanese, a long time ago, I can't go back to this "root" periodof time. At least you don't have those horrible "pear" american joystick (it looks like a Sanwa joystick or a copy of a Sanwa joystick) , but.... sadly you have an american layout and "old school" buttons (try to play for a long period of time.. you'll understand what I mean here..)... I know where well this company (X arcade), since I have a Tank joystick model.... taking dust in my attic !! Yes it's convenient , but NO , I prefer a good Japanese layout with good Sanwa's parts (or seimitsu...). If only X arcade could do the same product with a Namco noir layout or Sega 2P layout... but NOOOOO.
Fresh tour of the arcade you built!

I've been looking for the best arcade product so I can enjoy all the old games I missed out on including the modern ones.
4:05 Id prefer they sold just the controller. Mainly because I want to build it a custom cabinet and use this as the controller
At 8:22 he showed a version that's just a controller though without the ball.
