@@jesusbarrera6916 I've got several that cost about that, or less. Cheapest one's cost me $2 usd, and my onn, on ear's cost a bit over $4 after sales tax. They quality is ok to crap, the audio ranges from 'good enough' to 'make your ears bleed' bad, and the battery life ranges from total garbage(less then 30 minutes) to over 12 hours. Used to be able to get cheap-o bluetooth headphones on ebay all day for that out of china. Might still be able to on wish or temu, but i don't frequent those sites.
Say you are streaming at 1080p, and you want to put yourself on the corner without taking too much space. Then you are probably looking at a window size of roughly 250 x 250 pixels. That means the 640x480 resolution of the web cam is somewhat mitigated :D
It's even for remote classes or meetings when I don't want people to see dust in my room. People used to glue a piece of tape onto their 1080p cameras to get similar effect.
It really is wild how cheap some things can be made, and how much some companies rip ppl off with prices 20x higher but only like 1.25x better quality.
Small TMI) KR Daiso was 'once' the same branch of JP Daiso but few years ago KR Daiso announced that they had made a decision to buy all of stock shares of KR Daiso. It means they use the same name but completely different company
Welcome back home Dawid! Hope you had a great vacation!! ☺️☺️ We also have a Daiso here in the states haven't visited in over 10 years. Never knew they sold tech stuff lol. Good stuff Dawid. 4:37 bless you! ❤️
On speakers, the wire is wobbly probably because it's only held inside the case by a knot that cannot fit through the hole. I saw it on newer super-cheap speakers and it was an extremely common way to make stuff cheaper in the past.
That keyboard is more flexible than I am.... But really, you can't expect much from super cheap stuff. Also, move the mouse pad forward and place the cat below it. Voila, it puts your hand a bit lower down and increases your effective mousepad size.
Oh yeah FYI, to my understanding, Daiso in Korea is a unique situation because it technically is no longer owned by the Daiso brand Like it was initially a daiso branch through and through, but recently (by recently, I mean afew years back), Daiso sold the korean branch to someone whom I dont remember exactly, but essentially, Daiso Korea is Daiso in name only, the owners cant use the daiso logo or name in any promotion and whatnot, it cant expand overseas using the daiso name
The reason the volume is on the cable and not the speaker is, you would have to cast a different mold for that speaker, and that would rise the price, so bye bye bargain price.
13:57 I think the fact that while the resolution is so low, the colors, dynamic range, and contrast are actually pretty decent is why it looks strangely good.
6:10 Point of clarity: In that context, that "f" isn't a stop number, it stands for "focal length", meaning it's a [crap] 4mm lens in SLR parlance, which gives you a rough idea of its field of view and performance at range.

ive frequented a daiso store in the philippines many times and have never discovered such treasures as these. that said. that webcam is 100% usable. id take that any day over one of those $100+ logitech ones that sold out during rona.
that cable thing in speaker is a normal thing for budget ones, there is a knot made with a cable to keep it inside and it's loosely soldered a tug would probably break solder so it would be repairable quite easily
The camera is PERFECT: someone hacks the camera on your computer: come on, turn on the webcam... what, it's out of focus (for privacy-reasons reduced focus to blur)... no autofocus, WTF? Ok at least it has a microphone... 🤣🤣🤣
To be fair it's a pretty low bar, that Apple mouse is hilariously terrible. To this day I cannot understand how it got to market with the bottom-facing USB port so you literally cannot charge and use it at the same time. There would have been _months_ of design, prototyping, testing, and iteration sessions and _no one_ went "Wait, stop, this is fucking stupid"? It blows my mind.
G'day Dawid, Anna & Neko, 7:17 🤔Neko has a new friend Wristo 😂 9:34 Dawid trying to Escape from Maxtill I love these "How crap are they videos?" so much fun seeing Dawid suffer to educate us 😂😂😂😂😂
I'm obviously very old now but I have inherited tools, white goods etc from my grandparents. Because things used to just last for decades. Am I the only one who fnds the contrast between shipping all our manufacturing to east Asia and the desire to be "eco-friengly" completely batshit crazy? We're just producing a mountain of cheap tat will last a year at most, when we could just make things that last several decades with minimal effort.
Got speakers like that once. They worked completely for 3 hours and a component in them burned out. What a wase of money and time for everyone involved.
That is indeed a nice web cam, could easily record with it along with a good video source, use it as an effects real for overlays of saturation and granularity :)
The mouse pad, usb fan/light, USB cables and HDMI cable rocks compared to usual costs at a electronic stores.. especially the stationery, miscellaneous stuff and fashion accessoires..
Manual focus webcams are good for watching 3D printers. I use a Logitech c270 on my 3D printer. Auto focus cameras tend to constantly try and adjust the focus, a manually set focus is less terrible to watch for problems.
I love Daiso, when I moved to the east coast and realized they're only on the west coast of the US I was pretty sad and I still miss my little Daiso trips, I've gotten a lot of good stuff from there but never have I dared to get electronics lol
$3.50 webcam is better than 99% of webcams I see on laptops and given TV news seems to be pretty much entirely random people talking on webcams these days we see a lot... and they're basically always terrible.
ALL SIMPLE MEN WATCH DAWID. WE ARE SIMPLE MEN. I love hearing about crappy mice as I'm salivating over the snappyness of my new Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 Dex mouse. xD
U should do a budget vs expensive peripherals series where like u do a bunch of research into the best omega budget options vs the top of the like super expensive (aliexpress shopping can be quite fun)
Adding the volume knob to the speaker itself means they need to double the mold tooling costs for the front panels, since they would need a different mold for the left and right.
For $3 a pop, the quality of the webcam isn't terrible and the mic on the headset was also usable. It's hard to gauge the quality of the sound from the speakers or headset through the video but for $3 each if they even produced any sound at all then you are getting a deal. I took a flier on some computer speakers from Temu that they were giving me for free. I was hoping to use them with my Microsoft Surface Pro to get more/better audio. However after using them I properly sent them straight to the electronics recycling bin. You could barely hear the audio with the volume cranked. The treble was definitely there but it lacked any sort of mids and bass response entirely. The tiny speakers on the Microsoft Surface put these things to shame.
No No, Dawid... the webcam ( @ 6:18 ) say it has 10x OPTION Zoom !! It must be one of those new fangled webcams that gives you a choice of 10x'ing or Zooming .... sounds high tech!
The thing with the cables is weird, it basically means they haven't included any strain relief, which they could have done for the price of a cable tie, or even just tying a knot in the cable on the inside of the case. The USB-C on the headset is actually kinda cool, it means it'll work if you plug it into a Nintendo Switch, or your phone, the only really sad thing is that it would have been better if they'd charged you an extra $0.15 to include a USB-A to C adaptor in the box.
A bit of filtering on the PC settings would sort out the background hiss, and the voice clarity was actually shockingly good. Literally sounds better than the best-selling Turtle Beach headsets LTT just reviewed a few days ago.
Think how much better the world would be if countries everywhere could get rid of e-waste like this. Will any of this last more that a couple of weeks?
Since I know Dawid is from the lower mainland, I thought he actually bought stuff from the Daiso we have over here lol. Not sure whether I should be glad we do or don't have these.. also for the locals who are old enough; remember the corner of Aberdeen centre? it's now "Oomomo" in place of the old Daiso
Korean Daisos are great sources of cheap crap. Sometimes they have great things. I found a cables sack at a Daiso in Cheongju that is a round zipper bag that is the perfect size to fit 5-10 couled up USB cables. It has a USB A plug and the word "Cables" in cursive printed on it. It's just amazingly build for purpose and it fills me with autistic joy.

Oh and the webcam doesn't have 10x optical zoom...it has 10x OPTION zoom .... whatever that is ;)
That webcam is surprisingly good, especially for less than $4
yeah, honestly the cheaper ones i find tend to look this good and more expensive ones tend to not look great

Except for the microphone.
@@richardgarrett2792 yeah

It also look almost identical to I think Microsofts old one with the same mounting. It's just that, that cam is probably around 15 years old or more.
I can't wait to film Dawid does Blair Witch with it.
It's cool that the webcam mic is getting audio straight from wherever the ghosts live in Insidious.
This genuinely made me laugh out loud, thanks for that 🫡😂
