Oooooh, I'm going to get that Lifeproof Next case. I love that it won't allow any dust into the phone ports or into the case itself. Thanks for showing off these cases!
Really what's the point in making the phone so beautiful and shiny and fragile if we have to put a case on it immediately. They should just make the phone itself sturdy and durable and thick enough so fitting in a bigger battery also won't be an issue.
Dunno why your channel never grew like most others. Been your subscriber since beginning!! I think you take time to review but others do it in 2 days. Thanks for staying genuine
I have the tech21 EvoWallet with 12ft Drop Protection, Folio 360° Protection, and card storage for 2 cards but I can fit a few more thin ones in besides ID and and another. I haven't had any problems so far and my last one was a Note3 and so decided to upgrade! Thank you for another great review!
Excellent case recommendations. I ordered the Lifeproof, Tech21 and Samsung LED Wallet cases. I'll be looking forward to giving them a go. Thx for sharing. Have a great holiday season.
Thank you for your review! I have read several reviews of people having issue with the LED wallet cover opening up prior to hitting the ground when dropped.
I personally use the rugged case by Samsung just curious if the Lifeproof case is tempered glass friendly because I might try that one looks pretty cool.
I have the Samsung Rugged case for my S9 plus. This is probably the best case I have ever used. It’s protective, looks great and the kickstand is sturdy.
I purchased a "renewed" used "perfect out of the box" Note 9 a few months ago. I couldn't justify the Note 10+ $'s and no headphone jack. Also my fluency skills aren't up this phone let alone the Note 10+. This will be my new hobby (I'm 72). I found a really "classy" good feeling durable protective case including corners and "lipped" bottom end bezels to keep the face away from desktops and "faceplants". The BEST part is that it comes with an elegant three+ position (vertical and horizontal) STABLE matte finished SOLID aluminum kick-stand. It's by ESR. I got it for $19.99. Check it out and check for vendors with the best price. Enjoy!
Hey lady! Hope you're well. After a few months of having the note 9, what case do you recommend 6 months later? I'm heading to best buy tomorrow after work to pick one up. (:
Love the rugged military grade case with the kickstand...great for using the remote on the S Pen (I believe the US military tested that)....but I lean towards wallet type....so I end up with 6 or 7 cases lol. Great video BTW I can't find that wallpaper I see all the time on your phones...it's driving me nuts...where did you get it? Thanks Erica
Thanks for this. Was deciding between the Samsung silicone case and the spigen tough armour...but the tech 21 case looks nice as well. I know at the beginning of the video you hinted at the rhinoshield case reviews....would definitely be interested in watching that, so please post soon! Thanks
The rugged Samsung one looks like the winner for me, love the way it looks on the phone and I’ve been looking for a case with a kickstand. thank you for your video keep up the great work.
Been using spigen cases since the note 7. Can't be faulted. For the note 8 got the spigen tough armour case. Now for the note 9 got the spigen neo hybrid looks great with its 2 tone design plus excellent phone protection too. Don't understand why no spigen cases had been used
I had a spigen for about a month on my s7 edge, back when they came out, and the damn case scratched it all the way around the edges. I take extra good care of my phones so I know it wasn't from me. I'll never buy another spigen, I'm just not taking that chance. But to each his own 😉
I selected the Tech 21 case, I love this case(excellent quality) But! the power button, trying to double click the The power button to open the camera is difficult! The power button is very stiff!..You need to double click the power button (Fast)...This is not a deal breaker for me, But this is an issue with this case!
, nice review Erica I like the cases. However one of the things that I like about a case is to have a kickstand. What are your thoughts on that because I watch a lot of videos.
Great examples! With my phones, I use the wallet type cases to protect the screen, and one of the other slim cases in the car with a small metal plate for the car mount...
I use a wet-installed protector and keeping all dust out is near impossible with the included materials and being patient with keeping the edges down was annoying, but it's all good now.
White Stone dome glass is the best glass screen protector. You can find them on Amazon. It is a full screen uv cured adhesive. I don't like the film because as I write or draw it leaves indentions in the screen protector. As for cases I'm currently using the Samsung branded silicone case I also received a Spigen thin case that matches the Thanos flesh tone perfectly however offers no protection. I also have the Samsung rugged case on the way as well for those adventuring days when I needed more protection. I want the led but I am waiting for the purple one to become available. Thanks for the review on the great case options! Love your stuff.
I have a galaxy s8 and I have a Rhino Shield bumper and couldn't be more impressed with it! I dropped it so many times and still in the condition it was when I took it out the box! (Btw never heard of the company till i watched her vids back in 2014) so thanks Erica for sponsoring such a great product!! 😀
Thanks for the thorough case reviews. The LED wallet case does not look to have much storage to function as a wallet, or are you just describing the style? Since the Note 9 is bigger than my Note 5, being able to put my credit cards and ID and such in the case would be a nice way to keep my pockets from being so loaded down.
The fun part is getting it applied without it collecting dust. Take all that time to get it installed and look at your screen and there's dust particles in it.
I have a Note 8 and now a Note 9 but still have my LGV20 with 2 spare batteries :). When in the wilderness, without network coverage, those extra batteries count for GPS tracking with off-line maps. I even bring a powerbank as well but prefer removable batteries - very light and instantaneous full charge!
Erica, check out Supcase. Been using it since the Note 4. Currently using a slip-on one-piece Supcase on my Note 8 with no screen protector. Protects great when I drop my phone, and it's cheap.
I cut my Samsung Note 8 LED Wallet case to fit the Note 9 :). The buttons do not align so a few cuts fixes that and makes the buttons accessible. I did not make a cut for the fingerprint sensor so I use the pin security. The volume and Bixby buttons are not perfectly aligned when the case is closed but I know where to press. Saves me from buying a new case. I do want to keep that fold-over screen cover.
Love my Next ony note 9. I even have a dbrand skin on it. OME Wireless charging no problem. Had 3 Note 8s break in the tech 21 case. 2 on the right corner and 1 on the left. Hoping the lifeproof next offers more protection.
I bought a Spigen thin fit case and the Samsung silicon case for my Note 9. I prefer the silicon case right now for the look and feel...plus protection. The thin fit is minimalist but 0 protection and it's plastic.
Hello Mrs. Griffin, in future case videos, may you get colorful cases instead of black and clear? Clear cases are nice to show off but black just kinda is like wearing a black outfit in a 100°F+ temperature or like wearing black to a wedding. Plus, colors make the case look nicer and not boring. Lol thank you!
Erica Griffin Thank you, and maybe we need to tell them to add flavor to their cases and not outfit the phone with a funeral attire.😅 I do, but do you think colorful cases like Blue, Red, Green, Purple, Pink and such make the phone feel more alive and fun?
Hey Erica, give the Spigen wet apply screen protector a shot, I've been using them on the curved display Notes since Note 7 and it doesn't affect the pen experience too much, just match it with the right pen nib and you'll hardly notice it :)
Have you noticed the buttons on the Note 9 are a lot less tactile than the Note 8? which I preferred - I'm always triggering bixby on the Note 9 unlike the Note 8 because of the spongy buttons.
You bought two?? Whew.... Amazon receipt was for the blue version. I have the blue 128gb version and am thinking to get the Lifeproof case as well. Even after a 10% coupon, $72 is a bit high!
About the LED cover case - anyone found a screen protector that is thin enough, so it doesn't rise above the top lip of the case? Most of the screen protectors out there are 0.33mm and it's simply too high, if you drop it, it will hit the screen, instead of the upper case lip.
Well I don't think I could spend $80 for a case, however I did buy both the LED and the tech 21 the other day. As is often the case, you have great taste.
I tried all the cases possible. The Samsung cases are definitely premium and worth the extra investment. Switched to Rugged Samsung case w kickstand and I'm very happy
Erica Griffin, I just ordered this case from Amazon but I'm wondering about its thickness. Is it as thick as the one that came out for the Note8? That one was pretty bulky.
Im still rocking the Note 8 but I found the case id been looking for. The iBlaison magma. Has a built in screen protector that actually works without sacrificing sensitivity.
I prefer DBrand Skins myself. This phone is tall and big enough without adding any extra to it. The DBrand Skins allows you to enjoy the feel and size of the phone more. Plus you don't have to worry about dust getting trapped inside the edges like when you have it in a case. And last but not least...the DBrand skins are not going to cost you an arm and a leg.
As a fellow female with smaller hands, I like the idea of the LifeProof case being a bit wider to help with comfort using the phone. It's another option to consider, along with the Solid Suit and the Speck Presidio Grip. I just wish Evolutive Labs was able to make their Impact Protection polymer film screen protectors for curved screens. I loved it on my Nexus 6P. It certainly lived up to its name. Thanks, Erica.
Great review Erica, I love your vids. If I had one to pick it would be the Tech21 Evo Check case, I looked on Amazon but they don’t have one listed for the Note9 yet. When I got my Note9 I bought the Spigen Rugged Armor Case with Resilient Shock Absorption. It’s matte black with carbon fiber on the top and bottom. It’s thin but very sturdy, looks really good and I’m happy with my choice.
If using an otter box.. so far can vouch for the symmetry...and for the Evo check. From experience I cannot for the otter box defender.Any case that encloses a glass phone in hard plastic and the outer in rubber will be a failure.2 x breakages for my note 8 with defender on..from waist height.Contacted Otter box...they had no answer/solution.
I went to Best Buy on the 22nd when I got my pre-order and they didn't have any cases in stock yet. T-mobile had the Tech 21 with the x's but it looked a little too Gucci on my phone. I ended up gettting a Spigen on Amazon until I find something better. I like the LED case which is what I was using on my Note 8.
Hard pass on the Led Wallet case. My Note 9 fell from a height of 2ft. The cover flopped open and the phone landed screen first cracking it. Otterbox user now with a screen protector.
Whitestone Dome Glass is the best screen protector hands down !!! Had one on my Galaxy S7, S8+ and now Note 8 with no complaints. The install is tedious for a screen protector but well worth the time. Cracked one on my S8+ and got a free replacement through warranty with no hassle or issues. 👍👍
Useful review. Could I suggest you do one extra thing for future case reviews? Show us how you take the phones out of each case. It sounds trivial but when I saw how difficult it was to take the first case off (you used quite a bit of force) it will be informative to see how easy each case can be removed. You did it with some here but left it out for others.
The first case actually wasn't bad to take off at all. I just had to grab the right spot for leverage. But yeah! I can try to do that in a non-boring way.
This is covering cases you can buy in a storefront, a major retailer. Online is a totally different ballpark and I have a case in mind for later. And yes, I totally sat in the store for well over an hour, much to the dismay of my husband, testing all the cases before buying lol. Erica approved.
are you going to buy a Rhinoshield?
Ghenosis yep
Oh they allow you to pop open and test cases at best buy? I should do that
yep, I sat at the phone counter with a bunch of cases. They let me try them and choose what I wanted and then rung me up when I was ready.
Make sure you look at Dualtek by Puregear. Independent tests show they are the best at drop protection.
Oooooh, I'm going to get that Lifeproof Next case. I love that it won't allow any dust into the phone ports or into the case itself. Thanks for showing off these cases!
I love the clear back on the Lifeproof cases, because it allows that phone's beautiful color to show through.

Samsung's rugged military cases are my favourite. They're streamline yet feel substantial. Plus that kickstand is so useful when on planes and trains.
Really what's the point in making the phone so beautiful and shiny and fragile if we have to put a case on it immediately. They should just make the phone itself sturdy and durable and thick enough so fitting in a bigger battery also won't be an issue.

Erica I just put the whitestone dome on my note 9. It's incredible. 45 dollars but so worth it for the protection. Works with most cases too.
Loving the LED display case. Assuming it's just a semi transparent part of the case and allows the led effect through.
Nope. It's an actual LED behind the case.
@@EricaGriffin where does it draw it's power from ? Hope you feeling better now too !!
Erica, could you PLEASE do a similar video about currently availabile screen protectors and which ones are best?

I really like the Samsung Rugged case. It fits like a glove, has a good grip, and feels good in my hand. It also offers great protection.
That lifeproof case is nice, but not $80 nice. Lol. I'll take the $12.99 Tech21 case.

Ok thanks Erica. I look forward to future reviews.
Whitestone Dome, Erica. Accept no substitutes. Avoid their clear case though; it sucks.
