When it comes to anxiety recovery and finally finding relief from anxiety symptoms there are plenty of things that can hold you back from living an anxiety-free life.
BUT one of the most important things I find is that most people who are so eager to finally make the panic attacks stop or to get rid of a specific scary symptom is that they overly concentrate everything they do on their recovery.
What I mean by that is that every little step is solely geared towards anxiety relief - only one thing in mind - stopping symptoms of stress!
Not only will you not be able to stick to positive habits because they do not turn out to deliver instant relief but they actually can become a stressor in itself. We push ourselves to do work on positive habits but do not find any pleasure in them, do not really see the reason why we are doing so…
That is why for me and my anxiety recovery journey it was more of working on my specific goals and dreams rather than trying hard to make the panic attacks go away.
I surrounded myself with motivated and positive people that constantly lifted me up, I worked out to be healthy (and let's be honest here - for the looks 😉 ) and I quit the job I dreaded and worked on my own little business.
Bit by bit I then noticed that all these positive habits had a direct impact on my mental state. I was no longer dealing with anxiety attacks and even the anxiety symptoms seemed to be less bothering.
I could finally see them for what they are. Nothing else than symptoms of stress.
I am almost certain that I could only stick to these habits because I didn’t use them as a tool for anxiety per se but for improving my life in general.
I became confident in my abilities and my body which ultimately lead to full recovery!
So if there is just one message you can get from this video it would be:
Don’t narrow down your focus on fixing your anxiety but seek pleasure, motivation and reach goals in other aspects of your life BESIDES the anxiety disorder you try so hard to overcome.
Keep these in mind and next time you catch yourself in these situations reset your focus on what you have learned. Recovery from anxiety is 100% possible!

I've had anxiety twice in my life and this go round has been much more impactful and debilitating than the past. Your videos are a mirror into my own experience and it's so helpful to hear someone else.describe what I'm feeling. The last time I kicked anxiety was 10 years ago and a big factor for me was accepting it was just anxiety. I've been battling this go round for a year now and I'm finally at a place where I just want to accept it again and move on. It's so tempting to keep believing the "what if" voices, but its all just anxiety for me. I'm not going to keep letting this run my life and keep me in fear. My resolution for 2024 is that I will be I charge of my life and my destiny, not anxiety. I hope and pray the same for all of you reading this. God bless.

I agree with that perspective, anxiety symptoms can only persist if you pay attention to them. The key is just to carry on with life and just enjoy it.
It sounds stupid, but if you're willing to enjoy yourself, despite the anxiety, recovery is an inevitable consequence, not an objective.
I can only speak for me here, I believe that everyone's recovery journey is different, but If you are a person with a great life, and you fell into the cycle because of a panick attack, don't give up on the things you love, don't be depressed, don't grieve for your life, your life is not over, you're just in a temporary state of anxiety and hyperstimulatuion, simply carry on with the things you enjoy! It's gonna be uncomfortable at first, but I think this is the anxiety golden rule, aim for freedom, not comfort. Do all the things you want to do in life, don't give up on your ambitions and goals just because anxiety happened, dont let anxiety stop you from living your life.
Anxiety recovery will happen on its own, if you choose to engage with your life again. Who knows, you might even learn a lesson or two on the way 😉
I think everyone's recovery journey is different, so I can only speak for myself with that example I gave, so let me leave you with some more general advice.
Everybody is different, but the body operates under the same rules for everyone, so given the right steps applied for long enough, the body has to recover. Passive acceptance and practicing your recovery strategies (I had to implement meditation into my routine for a while) as well as dealing with potential underlying issues (the last one is optional for some, necessary to others) will deal with and eliminate anxiety for good.
Others managed to do it and the past, and so do you!

I really like how you say you can't wait till your anxiety is gone to start living again. It's something I struggle with. I have ground to a halt this time waiting to feel good enough to go out with friends again and what not. This is my second journey through severe anxiety and I remember my first journey really hit it's stride when I finally forced myself out of my bed and engaged with my friends and roommates again. Simply starting with watching a movie with them on the couch instead of hiding in my room and eventually getting back into video games finally offered me the distraction from constant worry I really needed. This time has been much the same. I've finally broken my constant worry by creeping back into the life I know how to live. It isn't easy. Simple things like playing video games and going for walks were things I had to FORCE myself through. But now stuff like that is much easier and I'm even back at the gym. I'm still dealing with some awful insomnia and I can tell you everyday I feel drained but my body pains are much better and most of my physical symptoms have improved. We can get through this!

Great video again Tristan! I think sometimes we have to think back to the time before our anxiety disorder. Were we constantly thinking about everything we felt in our bodies? No, probably not. We were busy with school, our careers, our hobbies etc. If we felt something that was different in our body. We would notice it (or not notice it at all) and then go on with our lives. As it should be. Now every day of our lives is about getting rid of the symptoms. That is where our focus lies, whereas it should be somewhere else. Our body repairs itself, as long as we don't get stuck in it.
That's why I think getting rid of anxiety is very often made too complex or time-consuming. It should all happen naturally. Coping mechanisms are valuable to gradually get yourself into a better mindset. They contribute to the overall picture. But they are not the only hope for recovery. It all has to fit you and not be a chore.
Great that you are back! 💪🏻

For anyone who is struggling with anxiety or panic attacks i highly recommend workbooks!! They give you the ins and outs of what you need to do to get through your anxiety and stop the road of suffering and the path to recovery and understanding. Make sure to do this first because a lot of what it takes to recover is paradoxical to what you might want to initially do. The road to recovery is kind of like losing weight and eating healthy in the sense that being fit isn't something you cure right? You could always eat bad food again and get overweight and unhealthy, but what happens if you stick to the strong good habits?? You'll have your bumps in the road but overall you'll be much better and happier. Just like starting a new habit like eating healthier the beginning will be the hardest to stay strong and in line for what you need to do, but with time it gets easier and you can do it like 2nd nature. I believe in you all!! Stay strong and continue to do more great research like this channel provides and always come back to help others!!

Growing up I married to "emotionally unaivail" partner. I had breast cancer stage 3B went thru chemo, mastectomy, n radiation. I'm 45 now. My eldest son decided to marry w/o telling us in advance, this is during my radiation. But that was all my turning point. I began my innerwork abt a year ago. But still find it difficult to calm my alarms, my body aching most of the time, even when I thought I have nothing that triggers me. Your advice really means a lot to me, to stay calm even if my body is screaming 😂 Thank you

Yes, dont make everything only about solving anxiety. It will only further fuel but instaed just slowly work on improving little things in your life that will eventually lead to calmin nerves and lowering stress. When listening to my videos or anyone elses it sometimes can sound like (or we even say it) that we had a plan to tackle anxiety and worked nonstop on it. TBH I think many did go down my path and didnt even plan on the recovery path but it still happened because they did the right things for another reason.

Can relate to all your videos as they describe much of what I've been going through for the past 6+ years. I realize all the "self help" activities I was doing were done with the wrong basis - yes to get rid of a certain symptom and/or anxiety. I'm slowly realizing that now. One thing need to appreciate and fully accept - this is a long process. What gets me is if I have a few ok days then start to feel a symptom or some sort of negative / nervous energy I get depressed - frustrated. I have accepted that this is all stress related in one form or another and how I react to it.
any one have tips on patience please.

I just want to thank you man.
back then I thought I would never recover in anxiety and I can never experience normal life again. I'm suffering from panic attack/Anxiety for almost a year I go to different doctor so many times and they always say I'm completely fine.but deep inside I feel like I'm going to die.
Your vids is really helpful comment section also helps when they sharing their experience and recovery journey.
again I cant thank you enough man you really made a big impact on my recover and now I can confidently say that I'm fully recovered and I came back stronger and better

  • @chloelanay3348
    @chloelanay3348 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I had a very unexpected health scare where I almost died. And ever since then my anxiety (which I already had before the scare) got amplified 10000 times. I’m very hyper aware of every single thing I feel in my body and if I even have so much as a ache I have a full blown panic attack, google symptoms (which makes it so much worse) and then convince myself that I’m terminally I’ll and dying. When in REALITY all the (symptoms) are being cause by severe anxiety and I’m aware of that but as you know anxiety doesn’t care what you know to be the truth it will convince you of the most irrational things. I have a full blown panic attack everytime I drive now bc I’m convinced since I’m “Ill” something health related will happen to me in the car and I’ll lose control of the car. Even leaving my house gives me anxiety bc if something is going to happen to me I would much rather be in my safe space.

I’ve had bad health anxiety for about 3 years now.. I’m convinced I have something serious like cancer or ms
Everytime I panic my arm and leg muscles get tense and my viosion is blurry with a massive drop of adrenaline into my system.. it’s awful, I have struggled with months of depersonalisation and TMJ too which also fills my neck and shoulders with tension,
I really hope I overcome this and feel better soon, my dr said it’s anxiety and stress but I always fear the worse
    24/7 anxiety is unbearable 😢
