    I’m considering a multi effects unit. I love the small footprint of the GT1, but am also considering the ME90.
    A couple things keep me interested in the GT-1. First is the price. Doable!
    Second is the great tutorials on your channel and a couple other channels. The amount of flexibility and control possible with the GT-1 is really amazing by using a couple extra control pedals. Thank you for such great information!

      Hi there,
      I'm glad you found my videos helpful, thank you.
      I agree, the GT-1 is still a valid contender. I haven't tried the ME-90, but obviously it's packed with the newer AIRD preamps and new FX, but again, the GT-1 is so flexible especially when you add some extra footswitches.
      I'm happy to assist.
      Please let me know if you need anything else.

      Thank you, Antonio! I'm glad you think so.
      It sure is an easier way to activate the tuner, than having to press both UP and DOWN at the same time.
      Thanks for watching.
      Have a great saturday.

      @@GuitarNTabs hi, ive done this assign, but each time i change to a different patch, I lose the assign. How can I make the assign global, so the SW1 always activates the tuner when heel pressed? Thanks

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@neilb1906 - Hi there!
      Thanks for your comment and question.
      You need to change the EXP SW from PATCH to SYSTEM, in the PREF menu. Then you need to specify, in the EXP SW menu, found in the signal chain, what you want it to do.
      Then remember to save your edit, by pressing the Enter and Exit buttons, so you enter the WRITE menu.
      That should do it.
      I hope this helps.
      Best regards.

    That's great to actually have those types of options . I got to get the 6 , 7 external pedals . I would have much rather had bought them as a package from day one could have been getting full use of the overall pedal

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tony!
      Thanks for your comment, I greatly appreciate it.
      Indeed it is - I personally really like the last option, where the EXP1 will activate the tuner, when at heel-position.
      If you want my opinion, then go for the FS-7 - it doesn't require a 9V battery. The FS-7 can be powered via a power supply, for the operation of the LEDs, but also passive.
      Agreed, you get more out of these MFX pedals, when having the external footswitches for assigns, etc.
      Have a great day.
      Cheers.

    Hiya , out of courtesy I thought I would let you know I don’t think the system setting works with exp1 . I have changed it from patch to system and it doesn’t operate the tuner . I turned it back to patch it works on that patch as per your video . I tried it through the computer via system and preferences . Still the same result . I’m learning all the while though . lol 😂

    • @GuitarNTabs

      Hi again.
      That's correct, I also explained that in your previous comment, it only works globally for the CTL1, CTL2, CTL3, UP, DOWN and EXP SW.
      I tried it all out yesterday, before providing you with an answer.
      Haha, that's good! It's always nice to learn something new ;-)

    Hey man, I hope you’re doing well. I’m thinking of buying a Headrush FRFR-108 cabinet and connecting the Boss GT-1 to it. How would I connect the GT-1 to it, and what cables do I need?

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, Moises!
      Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it. I'm all good, thanks, I hope the same for you.
      That sounds interesting, I'm sure you'll like the combination.
      I would recommend you to have a look at the User Manual for the FRFR-108, when you get the unit, but let me tell you what I know.
      You would connect the GT-1 to the 108 by taking the GT-1's left output, and connecting it to one of the Inputs on the 108. The Manual says to use a TRS-cable, which is a stereo jack cable, but since the connection is mono, and the GT-1's output sockets are unbalanced, then it doesn't make sense. So I would simply take a regular instrument cable and connect it from the GT-1 to the 108.
      Set the Output Select to Line/Phones and enable the GT-1's preamp models.
      There's a contour switch on the 108, and it's covered in the Manual too, but I would probably set it so the switch is all the way out, or showing most of its length, if that makes sense.
      I hope this helps, but please do let me know if you need anything else.

    • @moisestsuzuki
      @moisestsuzuki 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GuitarNTabs Thanks so much. That makes a lot of sense. So I would essentially only need an instrument cable that goes from the left output to one of the inputs, right?

    Do you think this still needs external ir loaders to elevate the sound? Or anything? I was planning to buy Nux mini studio or tc impulse

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jared.
      Thanks for your comment and question.
      Not at all, to be honest. I've been using the GT-1 since it very first came out, and I've always used the onboard Speaker Types, and they're really good.
      Find a preamp type you like, and try to mess around with the speaker type, it has a strong impact on the sound and character of the preamp type.
      Well, you could buy and external IR pedal, but then again, since the GT-1 doesn't have an onboard effects loop, the placement for the IR pedal would really not be ideal... You'd probably have to place it right after the GT-1.
      I hope this helps.
      Let me know if you need anything else.
      Best regards.

    Hi, I assume when you set the exp1 to activate the tuner or in fact any of the ways you show , these will only work when your on that numbered patch . Is there a way to globally set the tuner to exp1 ( replacing the double hit up and down ) globally or do you have to copy the patch across all patches . So how do you copy just one change across all patches but not end up disturbing previous settings on other patches . Hope this makes sense ?

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi there,
      Thanks for your comment and question, I greatly appreciate it.
      For the CTL1, FS-7 and EXP SW setups, you can set them up globally, so that it appears like this on all patches, if you wish so.
      You simply need to change a setting in the PREF menu, found by pressing the MENU button.
      When you enter the PREF menu, then find the desired footswitch you want the tuner to be on, and change the parameter from PATCH to SYSTEM.
      Make sure to save the adjustment, before doing anything else.
      Now it should work across the patches.
      I hope this helps.
      Cheers.

      Hi,
      Thank you for your comment and question, I greatly appreciate it.
      This is generally the case with almost all patches, especially if you don't create them yourself.
      The Factory Presets on the GT-1 will be all over the place, they're only really there to showcase what the unit can do, etc.
      It's absolutely best to always create your own patches, that way you can easily control the amount of gain used, as well as keeping an eye on the level(s).
      I'm not sure what you mean by "through the right channel too"? The right channel of what, exactly?
      Let me know, and I'm able to assist further.
      Cheers.
