In latched mode, would this work as external controller for activating the Chorus and Reverb effects individually on a Roland JC-22 combo amp?

Thank you so much for clarifying in other comments that is NOT mandatory to use it powered, because in the manuel it says the opposite (WTF) and I had almost given up on it! I'm buying one today.

      Hi Dani,
Thanks for your comment and kind words, I greatly appreciate it.
Not at all, the FS-7 can be used without power. The power is only needed for the LEDs to be active.
      You'll love the FS-7, it's such a great footswitch!
I own several, and there's always a use for one, or two ;-)

I just want the light to be on if an effect is on, and off if the effect is off.
The only way to do this is if I hit it twice.
Twice for on and then twice for off.
This pedal is very frustrating !!!
I have it hooked to my boss 1000 core.
Is there maybe a setting in there that would make this work like a normal pedal.
*One hit, lights on, effect on.
*One hit, light is off, effect is off.
I tried everything and can't get it to simply work, as most of by boss equipment that is impossible to do simple...
I feel like I need a collage degree to work this stuff.
    :-/

Check out my exact video for that, if you want the LED to be on when an effects is on, and the same if it's off.
I have a dedicated video for that.
      I hope this helps.
      Cheers.

You Sir , do a excellent job on the videos . I see that this has been available to watch for about a year or so . I finally pickup the FS -7 a while back and looked abd looked all over TH-cam for a video just like this and found not a one really that explains everything like this one of yours did . Crazy thing is , it just showed up in the feed as i was browsing for something to watch , TH-cam works in useful ways occasionally i reckon lol . Thank you for sharing the info and all that you do . Much appreciated

Hi there. Thanks for the tutorial. Do you know if this pedal can be powered at a higher voltage? Ie 9-18v? It doesn’t specify 9v anywhere on the pedal… just the standard blurb from boss saying, “only use with boss power supply”. Which is normally just standard policy from boss. I know a lot of these sorts of utility pedals are variable.

      Hi there!
Thanks for your comment and question, I greatly appreciate it!
In my honest opinion, yes, it would certainly be. The FS-7 is top of the pop and will work like a charm with the Boss pedals!
I have a few ones, that I use with my GT-1, GT-100 and GT-10 - it's a great footswitch, and the size will fit any pedalboard!
I believe you'll be able to find information about the use of the FS-7 with your OD200 and DD200 in their respectable Owner's Manuals.
Thank you for watching and for subscribing, that really means a lot to me!
Please do let me know if there's more I can do.
      Have a great day!

Is it posible to set 1 foot switch to latch and the other one to be non latching? i am thinking about using the A button as a remote for an angry driver and the B button as tap tempo for my DD8, and i am unsure if that would function

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there,
Thank you for your comment and question.
Sadly the A and B footswitches share the selected setting... It's common for both, so what you're looking to do isn't possible, atleast not with this footswitch. You need to look at the FS-5L and FS5-U, so that you can set the function of each footswitch. The FS-6 will do the same, if you're looking at have it all in one single footswitch.
      I hope this helps.

First, thanks for posting. Your videos are helpful and much appreciated. I know you can use the FS-7 for tapping delay tempo but can I also use it to turn the delay on and off? I'm referring to the delay coming from the GT-1. So I guess my question is can I use the FS-7 with the GT-1, to control delay tempo and turn delay on and off WITHOUT AN external boss delay pedal? I want to use it for the delay effect coming directly from the GT-1. Is this possible? Please lemme know, thank you

      Hi there,
Thank you for watching, and for leaving a comment, I greatly appreciate it.
Sure, the FS-7 can be set up to control a lot of different effects. For example, turn on an overdrive, turn on a compressor and also turn off the reverb.
The FS-7 can control both effects and parameters.
The answer to your question is; Yes, that's exactly what you can.
      I hope this makes sense.

      Hi there.
Thanks for your comment and question.
The only reason that the FS-7 has the option of being powered via a power supply, is for the function of the LEDs, nothing else.
I always power it, because I like to know which footswitch I have activated.

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello there, Paul.
      Merry Christmas.
Thanks for your comment and question, I appreciate it!
That should indeed be possible, yes. Use one output from the FS-7, for example Output A, and connect it to the Angry Driver, and the B output to your amp. For the Angry Driver I believe you should look in the Manual, to see how the FS-7 should be adjusted, in order to work properly. I don't quite know about the Lab Series amp, but it should work just fine.
Give it a go, and let me know how it goes.

      Hi Mark.
Thanks for your comment and question, I greatly appreciate it.
The FS-7 can be operated WITHOUT power, yes.
A power-supply is only needed for the LEDs, if you want them to light up, that's all.

      @@mtaskapablo - I'm happy to hear that!
The reason it didn't work well with the Ampero Switch is because it's a Momentary footswitch, for the Boss units it has to be a Latching type, like the FS-7.
In fact the FS-7 lets you switch between momentary and latching, depending on what you need the footswitch to do.

the real question should be which BOSS FS should be used!
this looks useful, yet I see talk of the latched and unlached foot switches for different purpose.
I believe the FS 5u can be used yet it is more of a keyboard controller.
then there is the FS 5 L
which is a single switch, but you could use 2.
it is my understanding the two FS5Ls would function the same ways as the one in this video

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, John.
Not at all, really... The FS-7 is an all-round footswitch which can be used with a lot of different gear, in this case the GT-1, for controlling the assigns, effects and parameters.
Oh. I think we need to get the models correct here - it's the FS5U and FS5L, not the FS-7.
Yes, but the FS-7 allows you to be able to switch the mode and its polarity, and then the FS-7 is in a much smaller form-factor.
      I hope this helps.
