- All possible outcomes and follow ups in the Jack / Miranda conflict in Mass Effect 2. This scene occurs after completing both Miranda's and Jack's loyalty missions.
EDIT - If you're having trouble unlocking the options in this fight scene or winning either character back, try maximizing your paragon or renegade through the remaining missions preceding the Omega-4 Relay. Also be sure to max out your class-specific stat for the 100% influence bonus.
Typically, the best option is to avoid completing either Miranda's and Jack's loyalty missions altogether (only needs to be one of them) until it's the only one available before the Reaper IFF. If it's too late for that, however, and you've maxed out your paragon or renegade and still can't win them back, you have two options: edit your save (check out Gibbed's ME2 Save Editor), or finish as many side quests and loyalty missions as possible.

She WAS really fool-hardy for somebody who's supposedly engineered for greatness. All the denial made her look even worse when Cerberus went full mustache-evil in ME3.
I reckon that it's just something the writers overlooked; because Miranda is actually understanding and even a little shocked after learning what Cerberus did to the kids on Pragia. Even though she states that it was likely a rogue faction of Cerberus that conducted the experiments, there should've been a unique piece of dialogue that unlocked and didn't require Paragon or Renegade
Cerberus (The one you work for in ME: 2) didn't do that to Jack. It was a rogue division of Cerberus. If it was do you really think the Illusive Man would've gave you the coordinates to go there?
Uh, he didn't. You get Jack's loyalty mission by allowing her unrestricted access to Cerberus' databases, where she digs the lab location ASAP - something Miranda was very defensively against about.
Ambiguity is a key aspect of Cerberus in ME2. Sure, there's enough plausible deniability to give them the benefit of doubt, but Miranda ranges from naive to full-on delusional in face of all the evidence they find there.
It's even worse once you realize Cerberus WILL finish the job with Jack on ME3 if you don't rescue Grissom, fully confirming not only their involvement, but approval of all the terrible shit done in Pragia.

The renegade points for this save was gotten through save editing. However, the paragon is all natural.
In my playthroughs, I consistently do Jack's and Legion's loyalty missions last - both which are necessary for their respective fights. At that point, you'll be drowning in either paragon or renegade, especially if you max out the class-specific skill and get +100% influence.

For what its worth, and concerning morality, Miranda deserved a reprimand. Even if she believed it wasn't cerberus she could at least sympathize with Jack. But being the "perfect" being that she is she couldn't even get over her pride. And the fact of the matter is that if Cerberus personnel did it then it was Cerberus.... This is one of the reasons I hate Miranda....

In such an immersive experience such as the mass effect series, what people say about the female characters in discussion forums is irrelevant to me. What counts is how people individually relate to the game. In my perception: Miranda was an often a self-centered character, advocating mostly for her own personal interests even in the face of impending universal annihilation. While whole planets were being scourged she had attacks of jealousy for not being the chosen one, hence a spoiled girl.

Jack anytime, any day, everyday of the week. Miranda is a childish rubber doll, Jack is a sexy beast from hell... easy choice here.
With this conflict, it's actually easier if you take the renegade route. Basically, what you have to do is rack up as much renegade points as possible and complete Miranda and Jack's loyalty missions as soon as they're available. The longer you wait, the more points it'll cost to keep both their loyalties.
i screwed that part. but when i interact with my crew members i can tell that only Garrus and Thane are worthy to be Shepard's friend.

To be fair, Miranda didn't actually mean "Jack's existence was a mistake." She meant, "What happened to Jack was a mistake, because normally Cerberus doesn't torture children; the security logs at Pragia's Teltin facility said the operatives were hiding their actions from The Illusive Man."

Yes. If you sided with only Miranda or only Jack, rather than calming them both, you'll lose the other woman's loyalty...but you CAN make that woman "loyal" again if you use Charm or Intimidate to persuade the loser that you only sided with the winner out of an ulterior motive.

To get Jack's loyalty back, you have to visit her in her living space in the Engineering deck. Pick "Can we talk?" as usual, but Jack will just say something snide, so you have to pick either Charm to convince Jack that you only sided with Miranda to keep Cerberus' network of contacts, or Intimidate to convince Jack that you sided with Miranda because Jack is a better warrior when she's angry. Jack will let it slide and she'll be loyal again.

First play thru i didn't have enough paragon points so i sided with jack. When Miranda said "not even remotely" i really wanted to tell her to clear out her office so garrus could take over as XO. Alas no option.

@Tanhankara 100% I am afraid. During this scene I didn't have enough Paragon/Renegade points to settle this dispute between Miranda and Jack. I tried to make up for it later, but I couldn't due to the lack of Paragon/Renegade points.

Technically in this particular example, Miranda's pissed off because Shepard insulted her personally (saying that Jack was better than her), not because he insulted Cerberus.

Yep, charm is actually extremely important in those kind of games, it can avoid a fight or get weapons, stuff for free etc... And you don't look like an unreasonned beast which has to fight every time
you get paragon and renegade points by choosing certain dailogue.
If you're looking at the little dialogue circle on the right hand side you will almost always have three dialogue options when talking to something. The top option will always be a paragon dialogue which is peaceful and kind and at the bottom there will be your renegade dialogue which is aggresive and mean. There is also the middle dialogue which are neutral statments that don't really give you any points.
@StrongGaia It's only automatic when you touch the button, she was still like five feet away. It's a lot less impactful to storm out of a room when you need to stop at the auto-door-which you cannot slam shut afterward-and wait for it to open.

it's most likely because neither your paragon or renegade meters are filled up enough. i'm pretty sure for this argument it takes less for the renegade and more for the paragon and vice versa for tali and legion's fight. however i'm pretty sure it needs to be filled up over 90% to gain their loyalty if you sided with one regardless of who you sided with and what argument it was.
like jeriko said pick 1 side either paragon or renegade and do both their loyalty missions but note dont do them to early tho or you might be short on points. i never had a problem with getting renegade or paragon full tho. you can complete 1 of their loyalty missions just note once you completed the other one this scene will be triggered =) if you do it early you need atleast 3 bars filled in either if later you need 5 bars or so filled hope this helps =D

@matchboxmatt I figured it out. I had Commando. To talk her down, you need Shock Trooper. It provides more of a bonus to your paragon/renegade status. Afterwards, I can just use 2,500 eezo to retrain myself as a Commando.
Orange and black are the Cerberus colors. If the asymmetry bothers you, then they could both be orange or both be black.
It actually also depends on your renegade. You can have really high paragon but if you have high-highish renegade then some options will be cut out example breaking up Miranda and Jack's catfight

@mabDave Yeah. You also need to have made enough Paragon / Renegade decisions consistently to get the option regardless of score, apparently, so although it requires a high score, it also requires a number of decisions to be made.

@AnchorDude You need to have a near complete Renegade or Paragon bar (I think the actual figure is 90%). If you max out your class Paragon/Renegade & Stat skill to Level 4, you should be able to double the amount you have. Just use the Retrain research option.
so i geuss the best thing to do when you start your game is to decide if you want your shepard to be nice or mean and stick with the dialogue options that suit your decision.

well, I didn't have enough up front, but I definitly had more than 2/3 aftewards (I chose to defend Miranda and then talk to Jack later) and yet the options are still blacked out.
to tell you the tuth I have no idea. I remember when i did this i had made sure that i my little paragon bar was completly full and even then the dialoge was still locked. It wasn't until I played ME1 and imported my character (including all his paragon) that the dialogue was unlocked. But I did bring this up to other people and they tell me it is possible to unlock the dialogue without playing ME1 it's just hard aparently. So I guess the best thing to do is to keep getting loads of par or ren.

She has cutscene powers like Kai Leng, but Miranda is better during gameplay.

If they fought, my money is on Miranda. Jack is a wrecking ball while Miranda is a scalpel. All that rage makes Jack strong but also mistake prone and someone with Miranda's experience and patience will take her apart.
It depends on how far into the game you are. For example, if you do Jack's and Miranda's loyalty missions before the Collector Ship, you can do this with about a 1/3 full Paragon bar.

Sometimes I feel like the concept for this game started off as Kotor 3. Using my charisma to maipulate outcomes and to play the people around me for the sake of a mission is something I'd do for victory in a war.

I'm almost identical to Jack when others bring up something about my suffering with my abusive parents, which pi**es me off, & then rubs salt on my wounds by blaming it on me instead. (the majority of the blame at the very least)

When I first posted that, my emotions got the better of me. 'cause of how similar my reaction would be when they're "pulling rank" (so to speak) on me.
Nowadays, it only applies to my mom*, Who (in short) are so narcissistic that she's (figuratively) only able to hear what she wants to hear, or what benefits her. So much so that it's as if she's confident that accusing her of ANYTHING is a crime, in of itself.
With time, I have been able to deduce that alot of things that she did/used to "discipline" me back then, there was at least one thing (each) that didn't make sense. Plus that she's also very dependent on us. (one ironic example is that at one time, she tried to order me to unplug every cable from my PC as "punishment". Even though me, my brother AND my dad said that the power cable's enough, as the PC's useless without it. but she dismissed our reason and stuck with hers. AND, as I said earlier, she ALWAYS "asks" us for help whenever she have ANY issue with her PC/Laptop)
So, nowadays, she only gets the silent treatment from me. 'cause what's the point in wasting my breath on someone who (again) only listens to the words that she wants to hear? Or those that benefit her? (in other words, she practically dictates the answer)

@TheFinalTimelord2 I did it in beginning of the game. Recruit the first 3 characters. Then do Mirandas and Jacks loyalty missions first of all. Make sure you have at least 2,5 paragon/renegade bars. The further u come in to the game the harder it is to get both of their loyalty.
They really should have added the option [TAKE PICTURES] to the possible dialogues Shepard could say.
