He's wearing extensive plot armor
Isn't he super human too, it is like Captain America can take few punches from Hulk or Thanos without serious injuries
@@rexpowercolt8216 Nope. Nemo is simply brilliant. Captain America is definitely not a normal human as the serum made him a super human.
@@rexpowercolt8216 I don’t remember. Guess it’s time for me to rewatch this movie again.
"Not the whole thing"
Perfect because I don't think he drank any of it
I think that's why his transformation looked the way it did. So much got on his skin that it distorted the form. For Hyde, it kept his body proportionate in terms of what it should be. His got all over him, affecting how he looked. Idk, maybe I'm just going too much into it, but it makes sense. That's why his other arm was screwed up because his right held the bottle and the left got splashed
@@Des-pd3oralso the reason he got a tiny arm is because most of the serum went ontop of his body, AND a little bit of it is on his arm
Dude downed a whole bunch of bleach😂
😂
Imagine how big he'd have gotten if he drank it like a normal person
I know right, did he actually drink any of it?
@@slimjim1329A bit of it, but he was getting drowned by trying to chug the formula and decided to just poor it on himself.
I can only imagine that he didn't realize, until after he started drinking it, _how horrible it tasted!_

Edit:
Dante: _"OH GOD!_ I can still *TASTE IT THROUGH MY PORES, **_IT'S THAT BAD!!!"_*
That's what he got for trying to Stone Cold Steve Austin it.
Probably would've exploded
The fact that Mr Hyde knows that that amount would change him into that says a lot about how much he tested the limits before.
When a scientist uses himself as a test subject for transformation experiments, it’s only logical that he’d want to determine safe limits

@@alexandarvoncarsteinzarovi3723any specific comics?
@@averyrogers1634 Dark Horse I think circa 2003
He did say "that's me on a bad day". Which you could take as him implying that he's overdone it before (maybe feeling the pressure of the world a lil TOO much) and gone absolutely nuts just like Dante. Because Hyde doesn't seem like the "violence for violence sake" kinda monster, he just likes to run free and feel powerful. If that involves muscling some people around, then sure, but he doesn't seem like the type who just hunts people down for funsies.
As a younger me, watching this was a gem back then. It had everything you wanted for a fantasy, superhero-like movie. And the CGI of this was okay for me back then too, I was more hooked on its lore and action. One of a kind movie tbh. When It came on cable, and internet, I occasionally watched it, probably watched the movie 5 times now.
Tuve la suerte de ver esta pelicula en el cine. Con mis amigos salimos maravillados. Para esas epocas estos serian "Los Vengadores"
This movie was great, I remember watching it as a kid. I think kids watch shit and dont care about the noise an adult can find. To me it was a cool superhero type movie, if my 12 years old self thought it was cool, I agree with him.
To be honest, I think CGI like this actually gets better with age. The effects for monster Dante are not realistic by any means, and they arguably weren't even good at the time either. But the effects artists succeeded in making a creature that looks like total nightmare fuel, and as modern CGI improves it will make this CGI look more and more ghoulish by comparison.
@@viciousclam2417 exactly back then cgi artist and also the director were more crafty. They make you feel the monster was dangerous and that you should run, nowadays the monsters look extremelly realistic but you dont feel anything because artists have all the tools but are not as crafty.

Looking back, this really wasn’t a bad movie. The premise was actually good it’s just the execution was weird. A sequel could’ve been awesome but i have no clue what it would’ve been about
Probably like Moore's own sequel, the further inclusion of the Burroughs-era tales (and, most likely, _The War Of The Worlds_ as Wells envisioned it) Of course, the Moreau content alone might well have pushed it into NC-17 territory.

I may just be high as fuck but this movie and this fight scene alone is holding up so much better than it should. I just love the back and forth shots we get of Dante and Mr. Hyde charging each other. It’s just an all around great fight scene and I love that Nemo stands absolutely no chance but gives his all to defend a comrade who’s thousands of times tougher than he is but goes out to give him a couple of seconds to catch his breath.
Nemo has some serious saber-fighting skills.
I am more impressed by his ability to get knocked half a football field through the air into stone and shake it off like nothing happened. That should have been where he died.
1:37 - 1:40 is insane. The man has guts and the look of sheer focus in his face speaks volumes.

2:46 I love the way there's enough force streaming past the giant Hyde to blow through a three-foot thick stone wall like dust, but the two humans who are standing in front of it don't even get knocked over
Movies become disappointing to minds consumed with the fantastical nature of the natural world we already inhabit with all it's fascinating forms like physics. Movies are mostly just roller coaster rides that use all of the forms of this world, like love, truth and physics as childrens toys for amusement. Disappointing but I too get bedazzled and wrapped up in all the spectacle. Strange land. I hope not to get lost down here.
Amazing how strong Hyde is and is able to go toe to toe with the the bigger guy. I like how he changes back , the transformation always looks so grotesque.
I imagine it feels like a full body muscle cramp each time he shrinks.
Hyde was able to determine what was the most feasible and economical way to use the formula giving him great strength and still retain a somewhat sane thought process to communicate with others. Even if he is physically weaker than the guy that turned into a resident evil Tyrant knockoff Hyde has full control of his actions and abilities well the other is running on pure rage with likely little thought process other than likely something similar to Hulk Smash..

Honestly, as a kid before 2008, this was the closest we ever got to "The Hulk vs The Abomination" so at the time it was INCREDIBLE (pun intended)
Better CGI than Marvels.

Hell, he's just a short step away from resembling a Daemon Prince.
the fluidity of the animation and how it blend almost perfectly with practical effect on mr. hyde is what makes this scene still holds up pretty well even after 20 years. movie vfx especially cgi these days tends to forget about fluidity because the movie studio had this really tight timeline that put a huge strain on the animators
Nemo is one of many brave and insane heroes that will take the fight to an enemy larger than himself.
When you worship a God of death, you do not fear it.
I'll tell my kids this was Hulk vs Abomination
That call for Nemo for help then tell him to run is just funny af.
Anyway, Nemo, though has little screen time, is actually a force to be reckoned with. His increasing rate of slashing reminds me of Troll Warlord in Dota and Proudmoore in DDay Judgement (Warcraft III custom map). He could easily hold his own against any heroes/enemies in the movie.
No, Nemo ran into the room with his armed soldiers but then Hyde noticed that Nemo's squat would be targeted and killed by Hyde immediately. So he shouted "run" so Nemo and his mans could have better position to fire while Hyde bought them some time.

I like how even before seeing the "Super Hyde", you knew it was going to be bad. Not just from HYDE of all people sounding worried at how much he was drinking, but also because we, the audience, had seen the dose of the formula needed to produce Hyde earlier in the film. They where little beakers, probably about as much liquid as a shot from a bar, a mouthful if that.
