Foreal thoe
It’s not terrible but it def has aged a little in some places especially in Sommer’s Mummy movies. I def would rather watch these over Universal’s recent monster movie attempts but these movies are still really campy and silly
Guess never saw Justice League...the CGI was awful in that film. At 14 years ago. Can say it was rather good. Aged pretty well. Though when you make a film in 2017-2018 and so forth. You really should not skimp on talented CGI people. When most of your film is CGI.
@@jojockful007 Imo campy and a bit of silliness is the best angle for movies like this. Also why movies like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Fifth Element work so well for me I guess.

I still love it. Same The Mummy - that is masterpiece. :D
Same here, still do ^^
I love every second of the interaction between Hyde and Van Helsing. Hyde is so cocky that he thinks Van Helsing is just another grunt sent by his superiors to kill another monster, hence he thinks he can kill him easily. But when the fighting starts, and Hyde is spending most of his time torturing his prey rather than actually killing him, Van Helsing was planning ten steps ahead of his opponent. And I can’t help but fall in love with how hilarious and terrifying Hyde was. The CGI in him is spectacular and whenever I think of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, this version Hyde is the first that comes to mind. Far superior to that Russel Crow nightmare we got a few years ago. Shame Stephen Sommers didn’t continue with a sequel, because it would’ve been epic. And he can still do it if Hugh Jackman is willing to come back as an older, more beaten down Van Helsing.
True man, we want more van helsing..... As Hugh jackman
I love how you get hints that Hyde isn't just a dumb monster and that he still has his Jekyl intellect. He's fairly articulate, uses more formal and proper words. It's just he loves reveling in his own sadism and mocking polite society.
I swearrrrr I wish they’d do another one this movie was too good for it’s time 😭
to be fair, van helsing was the angle Gabriel in human form, even if he doesn't remember it.
Hyde was wolverine didn't turn into his werewolf form
I really *DO NOT* have any issues with this film! It's MILES better than that Mummy remake with Tom Cruise and the hot chick from Kingsmen!
That mummy remake is total shit, i have no idea why they changed the story so drastically....
she is not even that hot. You have low standards. But you are right about this film though
Just because a bad movie is better then a terrible movie, don't make it a good movie.
Also, the blond was WAY hotter than the Mummy chick..
mr hyde was represented better in the mummy tho
Masterchief who would you consider hot then? I bet it’d be some bland white chick
I actually wanted mr hyde to last a bit longer. This hyde was perfect

Van Helsing Was Gabriel the Archangel in this Version
are you sure they kinda didn't mention it
@@RomeoX-bv4et its heavily hinted at. His first name is gabriel, dracula calls him the left hand of god. Dracula says Van Helsing killed dracula in the first place hundreds of years ago. Its confusing but I like to think gabriel was put on earth in human form as penance for something. Maybe when he dies he will be revived as a heavenly host again. But thats speculation at this point

i thought he was fighting a huge Man-eating Head
I was a projectionist at the time this movie came out. I remember watching it a week early for a sneak premiere with the press here in NM and with several radio broadcasts. Really enjoyed the movie, it deserved more!
I really liked the Scottish accent that Mr. Hyde has in this film.
It's the voice of Hagrid from Harry Potter.
@@kayci.28 I know
That's Robbie Coltrane from 007. He himself is Scottish..
I watched this movie on TV with the help of CD player (with dubbing). My elder brother purchased the CD back in 2004-5. I was 9-10 years old and was crazy after this movie . It's still one of my favourites.
Much much love from India 🇮🇳.
"MY TURN" LMAO I love that line idk why
The way he says it sounds Badass
It sound stupid yet like a monster would said XD
Yeah it’s awesome
Then he falls off the roof cuz he wasn’t looking where he was going
15 years later, and this is still my favourite movie I have ever viewed in the Cinema
Same here, i miss the old day's. 2020 sucks.
This movie is basically Castlevania.
As a Castlevania fan I was just thinking the same,
Yeah if you replaced the Belmonts with van helsing
I love this movie so much, I watched it like 100 times and still it never bores me.. every detail in the movie was so ahead of its time.. all the werewolf at that time looked like shit but in this movie it was damn 🔥,, even if you listen carefully to the background music it will be so amazing.. this movie always goes into my top 10 list. This movie deserves a sequel.
I heard this takes place after the events of a Van Helsing comic book and the reason Mr Hyde has that hole in his arms because Van Helsing shot him with an elephant gun
There's actually an animated Van Helsing film that is supposed to be a prequel to this one. It's called Van Helsing: The London Assignment. It shows how he first tracks down Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde. Pretty good, you should watch it.
Oh wow, that sounds pretty cool. Do they bare a resemblance to their counterparts in the film?
@@MightyGuts7423 yep
@@lizardsssreviewsss7505 - Cool. I'll go give it a watch.
@@KiriakosVilchez thank you.
why i feel some BloodBorne vibe here ?
The Anh Tran right lol
Gothic Victorian era, masked Hunter fighting a big monster.
Might be because Van Helsing as least partially influenced BloodBorne. The developer admitted to it.
Well, sure you could, since the game takes place in that Gothic, Victorian era. But I think Van Helsing, as well as the works of H.P. Lovecraft, influenced the game more than any one of those stories alone. That's where they drew most of their inspiration.
Broo imagine if huge jackman was cast as a old hunter when ever they are going to plan to do a film about it ill fucking watch that
I love this film. Both when it came out and today. For me it aged well.
I’ve been waiting for a sequel for about +10 years!
I got it...The reference
Wolverine vs Hulk
The difference between Hulk and Hyde is that Hulk saves innocent people, Hyde is a Psychopath that I'm pretty sure Hulk would kick his ass
@@bluetrailerproductions7488 😆 Lol
this is the closest we can get so far
Tyler Young and Hyde was meant to be short
I really like the little conversation they have before the fight. Such gentleman, even when one is a hunter and the other is a psychopath
Mr Hyde was the best villain/monster in this movie and they waxed him right in the beginning!
That's the reason why he was the best, he was a character with a very short life so the writter(s) could focus all their efforts in those short minutes of screen run. If instead he was the mad villain during the entire film, that attitude of his would stall pretty quickly.
There’s a prequel animated movie about him in London
This movie was really good it needs more attention.
I love the guitar bit that plays when the camera is hovering over Paris
I love this movie still waiting for van Hellsing 2
I put this movie in the same category with the Mummy (1999) which I go back to every now and then. A fun, action packed film, with humor and scares tossed in. I may be in the minority but I actually liked Van Helsing and Hugh Jackman was pretty good in the role.
I have to say that this is the greatest and most unique representation of the Hyde character ever to be put to film
When you realized they created Castlevania Lords of Shadows out of this movie
