I did purchase a third Arcade Stick to compare with these two but it was faulty so no competition to either of these two - remember these are budget sticks not competition fighting sticks more suitable I say to play arcade games at you leisure and enjoyment. 👍
If anyone has any suggestions (regarding other arcade sticks - thank you!) Please leave a make and model in the comments - no links they get blocked automatically 👍
You never said what your son's take was on the PXN as far as fit goes. I'm trying to get my 8 year old baby brother (18 year age gap, whew) his first arcade stick, and trying to pick out one he's going to be able to use for the next 10 years assuming it doesn't get broken along the way. BUT, my old box with it's 30mm buttons is far too wide for his little fingers, ~24mm buttons might be small enough, but I can't find any specs on the PXN's button size or spread.
@@KiraSlith He found it OK to use, the Hori mini might suit your brother better due to its compact size but if you are thinking of skipping it to use a normal sized one I like the 8BitDo arcade stick its a lot more responsive than the PXN. It costs a bit more but the features are there. My review video: th-cam.com/video/ElMlhEgzY7I/w-d-xo.html
I have purchased the Hori Mini recently and am very satisfied with the result. It feels very responsive and surprisingly just the right size for my feels. I am a very experienced arcade stick as well as pad player (since Street Fighter 2, I know I'm old) and can say that it holds up. You just have to have the right technique to use it properly. First, you have to play this one on the lap. Next, you have to cup just the left part of the chassis with your left hand (find your comfortable spot) to keep it in place.
The quality is ok on the hori, I just found it uncomfortable to use due to the size of it, if I had the money I would consider buying one of their full size sticks but they are quite expensive, so I would probably buy the snk neo geo arcade stick it has a lot of programmable features - the added games are a bonus 👍
If anyone is still on the fence, get Mayflash F500 and the usb stick if you want it to work on PS5. It came out about one twenty. It works great. F500 is heavy and solid. It's bigger than F300. I think it's total worth the little more price. I just got done beating Tekken 8 with it this morning. Love it.
I actually have both of these, I've used the PXN for about 3-4 years now and I prefer it than the Hori Mini because of size, but I'm planning to get a new stick because the PXN's joystick space is too small and sometimes my hand falls off when on intense moments
Yep the PXN isnt bad for the money, this one is my new favourite, it costs a bit more but is modable, 8 bit do th-cam.com/video/ElMlhEgzY7I/w-d-xo.html 👍
The PXN does work on Xbox 360/One. People just need to make sure they are using a wired 360 controller that actually works right on the system for it to be detected when plugged into the stick. If you're using one of those garbage third party controllers that cost $10 then the system might not detect it. For xbox one same thing and make sure your xbox controller drivers are up to date. The Mayflash Magicboots plugs made for each console should also work since it was designed to eliminate the need for a controller.
I bought the PXN about a week ago and within a couple of days the stick started to fail on me, so I got my money back and got a Mayflash F300 instead. £20 more expensive but at least you're able to swap parts if something does go wrong. Can't say anything about the Hori mini but I'd definitely say to anyone to avoid the PXN mini stick like the plague.
Yeah I hear you, you have had a bad experience, I bought another budget joystick to compare with these two but the stick didnt fully work so I returned it, it put me off getting another one, so I just made the video without it. My PXN still works so you were unlucky I guess. I was debating buying a mayflash F300 or a Venom mutiformat which looks identical but my cash had to be spent elsewhere, maybe I could get away with asking them to send me one for review 👍
Can this be used in ANY program on a PC. Is it simply a macro controller or something more specific? Could I use it for example for my video editing and map shortcuts to the buttons on this.
It's only specifically for the buttons on the stick (A,B,X,Y etc) a sort of combination button pressing option (for pulling of special moves). You can buy keyboards and mice with programmable macro buttons 👍
@@CalmCal I know you can get specialized keyboards and mice and actual controllers like the Loupedeck but they're very expensive and I actually like the way this is set up.
Good luck with that, the joystick does feel a bit loose and yet responsive, I bought an 8-bit do one instead much more solid and weightier, a lot easier to mod if required.
Sadly no, unless someone makes some drivers for the system that can work with newer sticks and controllers then you're stuck using only what was officially made for the system.
Yeah its not bad for the price, I recently picked up an 8bitdo arcade stick bit more expensive, better performance, parts are upgradeable, more buttons/features, has a nes vibe - videos up already 👍
Haha when I heard that voice at the start I thought wtf? had to double check I was on the right channel lol. I really need one of these for that proper arcade feel. Kids are asking what I want for father's day so I'm gonna go with a proper arcade stick. Ok, I know yer clued up about these m8, so what's the best one you recommend? Budget around £60....
Lol, was trying a "old master" martial arts voice (fighting sticks) - Honestly mate I don't recommend anything I haven't tried and tested myself, I know that a lot of people consider "Sanwa" parts as the best (joystick and buttons) or really high quality, sometimes it's like trying on a pair of shoes. Monster Joysticks are a British firm but I'm not sure on prices, I was going to check them out in future - the PXN is ok for arcade but because you are a bit more serious on your fighting games you may want something a bit more premium? Also, with your shoot em ups look for something with a turbo button. 👍
As I said mate I can't vouch for it but this one looks interesting, I cant get you a direct link as Amazon dropped me again! Search for this in Amazon it's £60. Venom Multi Format 8-Button Arcade Fight Stick (PS4 / Xbox One / PC) - There's a video on it with Amazon, seems to have all the features, chunky if dimensions are correct, Xbox promo, upgrade-able, star rating questionable? 👍

@@CalmCal i just checked the user manual in Chinese, after pressing macro button, need to choose either L3/ R3 to set, then press the corresponding keys u want to record, then press macro again.
I would install a sanwa JLF lever, an eight-way restrictor gate and a bat-top into the Hori Fighting Stick Mini. There is a video on TH-cam that shows you how to install a sanwa JLF lever into a Hori Fighting Stick Mini.
The PXN is, I haven't really explored gaming on phones yet but I have seen another video on the PXN after I made this, you need an adapter to connect it to your phone 👍
