Thanks for the great tutorial, Carbon. Love your channel. Quick question on TDOA: do all members of a flight have to have matching STN assignments on the datalink page for this to work? By this, I mean does each of your wingman have to have the same STNs plugged in for #1 - #8 on the DED? For example, does my #2 have to match their #2 (and so on), or can my #2 be his #6? Thanks!
Can anyone in the flight initiate TDOA or is the Lead the only one able to become master? Did you notice any limitations like range or aspect that is making TDOA less efficient? I tried it with my squadron lately and it appeared like only Lead could do it. Furthermore, it took multiple attempts to initiate TDOA as well as a significant time delay. Effectively, only once did we manage to get an emitter down to PGM1 although performing a bracket maneuver as you did and still the positional error was quite big. Unsuitable for precision munition employment. Did it work reliably in your hands?
So, as we were testing. Anyone could initiate TDOA and thus would be the master. Ensure (T) is in the link page next to each flight member. We didn't test many aspects or ranges but yeah brackets seemed to be best and there is a slight time delay. I haven't flown since this video so I don't know if something changed
So one question. Whenever I lock and TDOA a target, my wingman says he cannot lock the the target on his HAD page that Im locking for. Does the team mate need to lock the same target or is it done automatically. Everytime I run with a wing of 3 (myself included), they try and target it along with me (After I TMS left Long) and they say they are unable to lock it. Any help you can offer?
Hi! Thanks for the video, it workes like a dime! Quick question tho. When ur not the TDOA master, but want to participate in a triagnulation. What button do u need to press to accept the TDOA request by the TDOA master. I only tried this as master....
You don't do anything, just don't have an emitter locked on the HAD. When the designated lead starts TDOA (Master) you will get TDOA on your hud and in the lower left of your had page you will get TD-S for slave.
tiny bit more info about every button press and what it all means would be great ^^ but a good start for my slow ass brain anyway. sorry I'm very much a get every point in order and understand before I really learn how something works right xD

As long as the the flights STNS are in each jet and [T] for TDOA is selected, it should work. They can be anywhere in 8 spots
question when you send the data from TDOA does the wing man need to lock on to the target to send the TDOA to you ?
I think so...honestly I cannot remember. I have not done TDOA since this let alone even fly due to life.

Have them confirm lock then initiate TDOA
So they have to lock the same target as me before I command TDOA? (Sorry to be of such nuisance)

Appreciate the feedback, I'll take that into account in my next videos. This one was pretty hurried.
Nice!
Thanks!
