Thanks for this 4in1 review! I have a Mobula7 and really enjoy it outdoors (at least I did until the temperatures dropped, summer greetings to Stew). But I struggle indoors, even on 1S or 2S with throttle limit, especially in angle mode. With the Mob7 being increasingly popular I think a tuning guide would be a nice idea for an upcoming video. Something similar to the Project Mockingbird recommendations (like linear rates and some throttle mixing for yaw) but tailored to 2S Whoops.

    Mobula indoors with:
    throttle mid=~30
    throttle expo=60
    and you’re done.
I find the throttle limit approach doesn’t give you the option for times you might need a quick punch to stop you from either hitting the floor or obstacles.

I just want to say Josh that you are one of the best contributors to TH-cam.
I saw a recommendation for an FPV video (mr Steele I think ) one month ago and I just knew I had to try this hobby.
I searched ‘learn FPV’ and your videos popped up, today I flew my micro around the backyard for a whole 1s lipoHV battery without crashing. ONE MONTH from learning about the hobby to a full battery FPV flight. You’re amazing!

In pro automotive racing you have different cars for different kinds of tracks. I worked in NASCAR for 10 years and we had 10 different designed chassis to use depending on the track. Cars look the same but depending on which track they are going to be on dictates how you build the car. Makes sense for kwads. Great video.

Great review JB! I have the Tinyhawk and Mobula7 and agree with everything you've said here about them. Right now, I'm all about the Mobula7. It's more fun outdoor (acro/2S) but I feel I have way more control on an indoor whoop track (stab/1S). I have gotten the m7 3 months ago and since i have never touched my 6s 5 inch or my 3s 2 inch again.
It just works, its versatile, powerful, fun, it really doesnt bother anyone if I fly in a park per say, and mostly its damn near indestructable and the replacement parts are cheap. Like 4 Bucks for a complete frame on banggood.

Where these machines really shine is: AcroBee - best (well, of these 4) furniture flying and/or tight track experience with mockingbird setup. TinyHawk - the most easy to fly micro for beginners with default rates, AND probably the best performing indoor track flier overall with some setup, can also run FlightOne and is not that bad outdoors either. Mobula7 - best at falling apart, HappyModel quality never disappoints 🙄. 75X - crazy outdoor flier that really shouldn't be called a whoop and would be perfect with slightly bigger props and no ducts. If you only want one of these, I think TinyHawk is the best value for your money by far. If you can afford 2, I'd recommend the new Beta75 Pro 2 for outdoors and diy proper whoop with AlienWhoop Zer0 board and Tiny Whoop Awesomesauce motors (I have way over 20 hours with my first set and they are still going strong btw). Nothing you can configure in BetaFlight will ever make your whoop fly as good as Silverware, or even as stock Inductrix for that matter.

    Hi Joshua,
Can i start off by saying im loving ur channel, glad i found it, very informative and detailed imo. subbed!
Really love this idea of having more than 1 drone/product reviewed at once. Wish id have found this a couple of months ago before i bought a generic whoop, still fun though :)
Has yourself or anyone done this with similar priced goggles or other products related to the hobby? I ask because im struggling to make my mind up on what kind of 'budget FPV goggles' to purchase for my 1st pair. From what i can gather the top 3 seem to be 'FatShark Recon V2' or 'Eachine VRD3' or 'TopSky 1S'. Seems a few differences between them in terms of build quality (not heard much good about the 'TopSky 1S' as far as build quality goes though maybe im behind with any news on that?) with different reviewers saying they prefer X, Y or Z. Between the 3 there seems to be a great budget pair waiting to be made?
General point....id love to see more direct comparison vids (head to head...to head) by reviewers and TH-camrs, especially for field tests and gear/parts/equipment in same price bracket. One review of 3 products about $100 is more helpful than 3 seperate reviews on 3 products imo as its easier for a viewer to see instantly whats performing best. I do believe though there would be an audience for both vids!
Sorry to go off track with this but you seem very knowledgable so thought there'd be no harm asking for advice.
Keep up the great work Sir and happy flying!

Nice review. One big question with these little quads is flight time. Some of them are pretty tragic (under 2 mins), whereas others can make 4 mins or so (depending on flying style of course). From a practical POV if you have dog hairs around in your house then the shafts on brushed motors clog up with hairs pretty easily if you crash behind/under furniture! I like a 75mm 1S brushless indoors although I agree that 65mm brushed is a bit easier for precision flying.

I own an acrobee, the tinyhawk, the snapper 6, and snapper 7. I have all mentioned 2s quads on the way, but due to high demand I've been waiting over a month with no promised delivery dates in sight. The snapper 7 is my favorite 1s indoor flyer because it feels locked in, has plenty of power, turtle mode, and the best battery life of the 4(I can hover for over 7 minutes on a single 550mAh batt). I hate the tiny hawk and you covered most of the reasons, but I also don't like the default tune. The snapper 6 is ridiculously fun, but with a battery that is gone in less than 90sec I barely fly it unless I want to show someone a super fast 65mm micro. Just my 2 cents. I just wanted to try to contribute my experiences to the knowledge base for micro-quads.

@@djs134 It doesn't appear that they are available anymore. They are labeled 'Crazepony 550mAh 1S 2.09WH'. It appears equivalent batteries are being sold by betafpv. They appear to be the same size as the stock 450mAh batteries. The capacity of 550mah was confirmed with my charger. I would like to clarify that the 7 min 15sec flight time is just holding a constant hover. Flight times may vary.

Sean McKagan I managed to find them on amazon available next week I think, I was looking before u responded. Based on that 7 min hover what do u get for all around indoor flight times? A guesstimate will do and thanks. I’m so torn on which brushless whoop to buy for mostly indoor flights. I really don’t want to deal with 2 min flights so I know that limits my options. I kinda want to see what the trashcan looks like for indoor 1s flight. Kinda leaning towards the snapper7 though

@@djs134 I'd say 4 to 5 minutes average. If you are new to fpv I'd suggest looking at the new acrobee lite with gold motors and 300mAh batteries. It is bulletproof, well designed, and super easy to control. I'm not totally sold on the lifespan of the micro brushless motors due to a failure of one after a crash. The only big issues I had with the snapper is the vtx overheating and the vtx simply not working on the factory default frequency. Just change video channels until you find one that works well.

Sean McKagan yeah I’m new to fpv and plan to fly a ton so based on the 5-10hr lifespan of brushes motors I was hoping for something bulletproof so to speak so I can just go nuts with. Thanks for the info

Beta 75X definitely is a hard whoop to fly indoors, but after a few months of racing I’ve gotten used to it and now I’m just as competitive as the other whoops. Imho ide go for a beebrain lite if I could have any whoop for indoor racing, that thing flies like it’s on rails

Josh you're great, love your videos. I don't think you gave tinyhawk enough credit - if you use Mockingbird settings and fly angle for racing its quite good. At least thats what i thought. Saying that, i love the design of the tinyhawk since prop loss is 0 after a ton of flying so can't wait for the 2s version. Cheers!

Before the end of 2019 I am sure we will see HD video recording on this style of tiny quads. It will be really fun because I am expecting this whole sub 250g category is going to explode due to regulations in Canada an the USA over the next few years. Plus it allows you to have a LOAD of fun in a smaller space without bothering other people.

I'm a member of a local fpv club and often I help people with the first step to fpv, mobula or in the future trashcan will be the first recommendation after they got out of the sim.

Ball bearing motors are smoother, more powerful, and more durable. It's one reason why Acrobee still hasn't transitioned to brushless. Because in that small size, only bushing motors are available and Newbeedrone doesn't trust them.

another great review. I'm loving how professional your video editing is becoming looks really good. I Why didnt you also compare or mention your BetaFPV Meteor 65mm 1s Brushless Whoop? Seems like it would have been a better option to compare to the other brushless whoops. Also I hear the Mobula 6 1s Brushless Whoop is the best 1S brushless whoop to date. It would be cool if you could compare that to one of these induxtrix "king" of 1s Whoop racing. I cant belive that a 1s brushed quad is better at anything compared to a 1s brushless Whoop like the Meteor 65 or Mobula 6. I would love to see the brushed induxtrix dethroned.

Now that the Emax TinyhawkS is out which one would you recommend? I just bought the TinyhawkS today for $88 after watching your Banggood Summer sale Video and will most likely be modifying it with an XT30 connector with a capacitor and buy all 2S LiPo's and if I want to fly indoors during the winter months I'll just adjust the throttle to 50%. IMO I'd have to say the TinyhawkS beats them all now that it's out.

JB you need to try enabling the BF crash detection feature on one of these whoops before you claim acro mode is impossible indoors. It basically recovers just as quickly as when you are in stabilised mode.

Josh, could you look at the UK65/US65, probably the best brushless 65mm whoop? It would be great to get your opinion on that compared to these. I feel like that one might beat out the Acrobee because I think it has every advantage of the Acrobee, but also many of the advantages of brushless whoops.

Nice Joshua, have you tried the Snapper7. It's a 75mm brushless but is 1s only. So far it the only one i reckon that flies indoors and outdoors with no issue. Not to fast that its crazy indoors and not to slow that it cant fly in small winds outdoors. Also people upgrade the mobula camera to the EOS Caddx.

Try the Mobula 7 at night. Line of sight it has red and white LEDs that show where the front is really well as they light up the frame.
FPV the camera does really well in a partially lit environment.
The beep makes it easy to find along with the LEDs.

Hi Joshua, that was a nice review.
I really wonder why everybody is talking about 75er frame whoops.
To me the definition of a tiny whoop is the size of a 65 frame with ducts. So a tiny whoop 2.0 should be like the BetaFPV 65 Pro 2 or similar.
I have the BetaFPV 65X (=65 Pro 2 plus 3g). It flies great! Curious to see your opinion.
