- Our First character of year 2 M. Bison has gotten his gameplay trailer, so lets do the usual deep dive on his gameplay ahead of his launch later in June! A fusion of all eras of the character with a SF6 flavour to it, he looks very powerful and as always his Psycho Power knows no limits!

Here we are with the M. Bison breakdown! He's lookg as good as ever as a nice mix of many generations of the character put together, with a bit of a SF6 blend to it. He's also out at the end of the month! Now why is Bison back after being dead? Well he died in SF alpha, SF2, and now SFV so death means about as little to him as a mortal kombat character really, but im sure we will get our story reason soon! Love your intro roofle and enthusiasm coverage about fighting games like always. I'm hoping to access at least a second edition of sf6 like obtain year 1 and 2 now seasons cause akuma and m bison two pivotal classic character that I always cherished in my childhood days on the arcade machines of street fighter way back in the 90s. m bison definitely looks new and revamped better here with his hood outfit and yes of course the sf2 outfit is back too. Very distinguished movestes this time round like he has that air chopper twist strikes but also he has familiar bread and butter classics such of the likes of the psycho crusher and the front flip bicycle kicks. And the dark horse looks expectionally good too. but yeah excited despite I cant at the moment have like i said year1 and year 2 but when they do announce another edition ill be the first one to buy in an instant. Playing and enjoying mk1 and tekken 8 for now. there is takeda that's coming lydia for tekken and the rolling second pack for mk1 and expansion story which characters are we gonna see. elena is back and terry and mai didn't expect they were gonna make it. So the shroud mystery snk vs capcom is officially happening. June 26 for bison wish i could play but again have to wait but I would enjoy some matches in the meantime
It baffles me that people still think a character dying in a fighting game means they would not come back, that's such a stupid mentality 😂
Oddly the thing that stuck out most to me is the weird thing going on with the color of his energy. Half the time it’s classic Psycho Power purple, but the other half it’s this distinctly different pale bluish white, and I’m curious what that specifically means

A lot of people mention this influence and it's very likely to be truth since there are many fist of the north star/jojo fans working at capcom

13:27 - I think these are Bison's memories rather than any timeline shenanigans. If the lab wasn't totalled, he would probably sit in that chair, put that funky helmet on his head and download all the memories of his past lives into his brilliant brain.

Sorry its up later than youd expect. I know it leaked out last night but I was already up for over 30 hours after the 2nd vid for the day so I needed sleep. Then I wake up and well the internet here at the hotel is awful lol. I paid EXTRA for "better" internet, thats worse than what I had living in the middle of nowhere as I do 10 years ago lol. I wouldn't call Akuma evil. He's not out to conquer or destroy the world (Oni notwithstanding), more so following his own code of growing stronger by fighting only the strongest. To the death, of course, but the killing part isn't his priority.

Related to Bison's lore: what I find interesting is that the official character bio on Capcom's site describes him as "A man who resembles M. Bison, the leader of Shadaloo, who was believed to be dead.". This, combined with him saying he'll take the name Bison in his trailer, opens up the possibility that this isn't actually M. Bison, which could take the story in various fun directions.
What I can gather from enough sources is that this "M. Bison" is a rogue clone that A. Uses Soul Power to control his Psycho Power and B. Is going on his own personal journey.
Cool story buddy, too bad the official SF page already said on Twitter that he has amnesia.

Interestingly, the text of the news item on Steam seems to be saying that Bison didn't die in SFV. It says he was seemingly defeated, but woke up on the brink of death in an alley without his memories.
This is why Mortal Kombat always reminds you to finish your opponent.
That drive rush at the start of showing off M. Bison classic costume will be in people's nightmares

I feel like the clips of the old games when hes punching the psycho generator is probably like the end of his world tour master bond cutscene and its him getting his memories back.
I get the feeling the glowing purple digital Sigma-lookin' ghost face was all the memories of the old Bison that were stored in the base to be put into his new body, but the new body decided he wasn't about that, so he punched it super hard.
I think it'd be an interesting angle if this new Bison rejected his past in favor of simply riding a horse around and fighting dudes. It'd let him stay on in the series without necessitating him being the eternal big bad of every game.

It seems to me more like the energy face (or perhaps the hat itself!) is rejecting _him._ Like he's trying to punch _through_ it to get his hat back, but the field is forcing him back.
That's the impression I'm getting too. I think they did this to satisfy M Bison fans since he's so popular so they can have him in the game but not have him be the main villain or focus
Superb breakdown, I do appreciate the intricate look into his moves and prior lore, emphasizing how he's adapted to the new format.
I am lookng forward to seeing him in full. His voice actor is bombastic and I just adore his new theme, can't get enough of it. It's going to be hilarious having our humble Avatar chattering to him; if he's amnesiac, maybe we have a chance to try and dissuade him from his usual tyranny? Eh, maybe not, but at least being able to give him presents will be fun. Just don't tell Guile and friends that we're tutoring with a guy they hate.
I'm glad that the psycho mine came back. That move had a nice villainous flavor that fit Bison well. I also love how his EX moves look this time around.
I gotta respect Johnny Worldtour's hustle. Doesn't matter if you're a karate master, a wrestler, a dictator, a professional assassin, even an outright supervillain. If you got moves, he wants the smoke.

Nice to finally see some character evolution in Street fighter, both moves and design/story wise. They had been stagnant for a bit too long.
...And for the nostalgics, there's always the alternate costumes, so it's kind of the best of both worlds.

Coming back to life over and over and over again
Neat little visual touches. His regular Psycho Crusher is the OG blue one from SF2, while the OD version both his hands glow, he's purple instead of blue, and he uses both palms to lunge rather than just one. And his lvl3 seems like a callback to the SF4 Nightmare Booster UC1. Also, Kneepress Nightmare is him pressing knees this time (kinda)! He 1-2 stomps both opp's knees then does the double stomp ala SF5 EX Scissors to the opp's forehead while they're kneeling after having their, ahem, knees pressed.

I noticed Bison will inject the Psycho Mine with only his right arm always. His Backfist Combo changes animations depending on which side he's on.

The fact scissor kick is a launcher is insane. That neutral catch will be nuts. Also season 2 looks awesomw, way better than season 1. I wish each year we had thenes for characters like mad gear, shadoloo, illuminati etc.

MAD MAX Bison was definitely not on my list of wishes for this game, but damn I must admit just like pretty much every character in SF6, they made him look awesome.
Dude, Bison looks freakin sick. Giving him a cloak and a horse might be a cheap trick, but it worked. I don't usually jump on the new character bandwagon when they come out, but I will be joining the armies for him and Terry.
So in the time he was gone and forgot who he is, Bison became War from the first Darksiders game, battled demons and angels, got bored, took the horse and came to Neyshall,...off screen...
He looks amazing and I know they've added some motion inputs but he'll mostly be a charge character again and I can't really play that, it also doesn't feel right. But he looks great, that's a comeback, his look alone tells a story and I love that.
Not a Bison fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I love that they referenced the Bison Napoleon painting from the movie.

One cool thing someone mentioned on Reddit is that he has different animations depending on what side of the screen he is on so he always plants the mine with the fucked up arm

My Soul has been healed tremendously after seeing Bison standing Medium kick and Psycho-crusher. And that new low Heavy kick, my goodness... It's gonna feel amazing to press that button.
Did you notice that for his Psycho Back Hand (that new soecial move that implants a Psycho Mine), Bison ALWAYS usrs his right arm ? So this animation isn't mirrored.
I think that's super interesting, from a lore's perspective.

I love that they finally completed Bison's full Raoh transformation by giving him a horse. You can't rightfully call yourself a dictator in Japanese media unless you have a horse.

The whole mine gimmick reminds me a lot of Eustace's grenades in Granblue VS/Rising, and both of them being partial charge characters sorta reinforces that for me (even if they're quite different in terms of archetypes, lol)

They almost gave us 5 characters in 1 single year so that's good. Bison being June 26th was just slightly past of a full year since the game released about 1 year ago this month. And getting both Akuma and Bison within a single month of eachother is nice. But that probably means the wait between the other 3 is going to be agonizingly long sadly

Maybe I'm looking too into things, but the new sweep he has is very much a Cammy sweep if I ever seen it, and the new special 2 punch move he has feels very Ed psycho upper esque, especially the ex version. I want to say it's like he also has traits from both the characters he intended to reincarnate into as well.
Maybe in that teaser where he says "Inconceivable!" is him trying to get to the hat and some weird backfire happens which causes him to lose memories. Or the opposite, its a scene where he's regaining Bison's memories. Just hope it means something and doesn't just fall flat.
I think that cutscene will be right before he becomes available as a master in the Ruined Lab, where he decides to help John Worldtour after essentially defeating og evil Bison and ridding himself of that part of his soul permanently
