Today is M. Bison day! As you would expect I was up early and dumped some hours into the lad, and now with that combined with my time from the Summer Game Fest I have a much more complete idea of the character and he's even stronger than my initial impressions! I don't think he's top tier or nothing, but he has a clearly defined gameplan (AGGRESSION) great walkspeed, huge buttons, does what Honda got nerfed, better than Honda did it before it got nerfed and just tons of stuff! Lots in the vid so give it a good explore, like if ya liked it and let me know what you think!
I do think some of the Honda differences are type of gameplan. Bison needs to be close enough to get his setup in place. Honda's headbutt knocking down gives him time to setup spirit. And it really does seem like the downsides to Bison's scissors on block are that, if you're spacing it right, sure you're mostly safe, but he still has to reset his pressure game. And anything that breaks up his pressure is really bad for him. Like you said, his defense isn't terrible, but based on normals and tools, once he's out of his pressure game, he has to get even more defensive than Honda. But we'll see how it pans out over time. I was immediately joking around about how his gameplan feels like a weird mix of Honda and Marisa!
Bison literally spared your World Tour character because the horse took a liking to you. He clearly values that horse enough to braid its hair himself.
This week on the channel is basically gonna be Bison week, so expect a LOT MORE! Stay tuned over the next few days, cause not only are we gonna do stuff like combos and a big guide like you'd expect, but also dig into the lore and the story of whats going on cause there's a fair bit!

A significant difference, however, is Bison essentially gets his mine for playing the same game he was always going to play, then being rewarded extra for it. I'll stick with the character only because of the animations and design. He's like a creepy Magneto, the horse stance looks sick, and the throw game, when you throw back and he does like a swipe kick into a chest kick that then throws you away is soooooooo cool.
7:00 man how the hell can you come up with such a combo? I mean, I feel really bad not having the ability with my hands and my mind to pull out something like that in Street Fighter. I feel like I'm playing it wrong, and that's very frustrating. But I still love the game, just get amazed with what most people can do in this with combos.
well I had a basis for it already in the SGF bison video. Not as good of a combo sure but I knew where to start and where to go from. Thats half of all labbing in fighting games, not so much figuring it out, just having a starting point to get your feet on the ground. Thats legiit the biggest part
misconception: they didnt nerf e honda for being "too strong" they nerfed him because they fundamentally disagreed with how people were playing him. they didnt want e honda to only spam 2 moves and not play with the rest of his kit.
I was wondering if you had any advice for me. Sf6 is my first street fighter and I wanna pick up bison but I have a really hard time with charge characters. I play classic on keyboard, I’ve been thinking about getting a leverless controller like a hitbox but I’ve heard some people say just stick keyboard. Do you have any advice or video to help me get better at charge characters? And should I switch off of keyboard?
I know this might be a strange question to ask but i'm genuinely curious now that Scissor Kick is a motion input rather than charge how it functions/interacts if you do it on reaction to people jumping at you. Can it anti-air? Can it cross under? Can it trade? Does it just get stuffed completly? I imagine it isn't going to work very well but sometimes you gotta try regardless just to see.
I don’t think scissor kick works well since it’s hit box is low to the ground and I’d imagine there’s not much verticality to it. What does function as a good anti air tho is his psycho crusher
I'm pleasantly surprised how much I like Bison just from training and running through arcade mode. I was going to play him for a while anyway because he's cool, but I wasn't sure if he'd be a character I'd want to stick with long-term. Sometimes you get the initial badass character/hot waifu hype and you end up not vibing with how they play. Fortunately, Bison's got the kind of belligerent stuff I can dig.
I have the vid a 👍🏽 because I appreciate the channel but I hate these technical vids of Street Fighter coming from everywhere. They are informative and great for all the online competitors but breaking the game down to science and the jargon in the analysis just kills the fun for me but I'm old and will always prefer the old school way we're we just learned by playing blissfully ignorant to knowing about frames plus and negative on block reversal nerfed and buffed big buttons and hurt boxes etc just hey tried this it works doesn't work here or against this character so good don't do that here coz you could take lots of damage this move could get me out of a tight spot. Ahh. . back in the day, a more innocent time 😊 however you do it enjoy the fight guys 👍🏽
I dont see why headbutt is being compared to scissor, other than it use to be a charge. Scissor is more akin to like a rekka 1. Headbutt should be compared to psycho crusher

Well jp was shown as a subordinate of bison in bison’s world tour cutscene so I think it’s too late for him to be saved. I wish they would’ve kept the two somewhat separate from one another but still being aware of each other’s presence
@@KingJinzo2125 the separate part sounds like bison and Seth scenario, we need something new in my opinion. Plus JP becoming a financial for shadaloo again instead of a new dictator sounds like we went to cycle and it would’ve been better to have a better story like Luke Jamie and Kim are making a new generation
I love this character! Definitely my new main! Already had someone rage quit on me lol
Coming from honda and guile to bison gets some getting used too, i kept muscle memorying doing psycho crusher and devil reverse randomly
I see the damage. I put the hat and the shoulder pads. I'm Bison main now.
Just as a thought, the mine would be cool as some kind of parry move, that sounds mean enough for Bison, it wouldn't be overpowered since you had to trigger it and it would kind of fit, get a little Geese into his gameplay.
Devs are pathetic for snap gief nerf
It just kick.
they clearly despise this character to hit the character they deliberatey made sure was TRASH with a nerf, fu capcom.
What are you talking about, that st.mk was winning the character sooo many majors , im glad they nerfed it finally
@@ultraheaven8968 one veteran player did well at one tournament and people whined and they nerfed it less then a month after they buffed it meanwhile Akuma sthp is one of the biggest bullshit normals ive ever seen in a modern SF game can rock all day, Lukes CMP terrorized the entire game for an entire year without nerfs and they barely touched it in the patches
I'll stick with the character only because of the animations and design. He's like a creepy Magneto, the horse stance looks sick, and the throw game, when you throw back and he does like a swipe kick into a chest kick that then throws you away is soooooooo cool.
I had my first 20+ win streak today thanks to bison. What a character lol
Experimenting, and the frame meter helps a lot. That combo you mention is pretty much last combo of his trials. Just a different starter
well I had a basis for it already in the SGF bison video.
Raul Julia skin when?
Bison's spasming back hand during idle really bothers me.
it makes perfect sense. Wait til you are older lol
@@Rooflemonger That's _why_ it bothers me!
Probably too early to say this but DLC power screep is gonna be something we talk about too
Wait. They gave him AND the horse different animations?
when can we expect a comprehensive guide with a game plan and all?
Holy shit if ypu space stand heavy punch so the tip of the move hits, it’s even +2 4:44
That scissor kick looks ridiculous. Im hoping Mai is that cheese.
Honda? They have chun's walk speed to akuma and he has bigger buttons, better frame advantages, and 3x the fireball game on top
13:18 id say headbutt has a more of a reward on hit than scissor kicks though *on regular hit lol counter scissors is super bison and i love it 😂
Bison pressure is dangerous in the right hands.
Someone has to talk about casual mode not having a character select screen and the cool walk out animation 😭
Hey rooflemonger!
hi!
I’m here waiting for the other m. bison gameplay and not once did he show it
Honda's headbutt deleted a full bar of drive gauge. At least Bison does half that. But yea scissors is pretty good.
I dont see why headbutt is being compared to scissor, other than it use to be a charge. Scissor is more akin to like a rekka 1. Headbutt should be compared to psycho crusher
its a neutral skip you toss out and see what happens, this version of scissors is directly comparable.
They stopped marchmaking errors cancelling your search. That's a cery welcome change!
Besides akuma I wasn’t crazy about season 1 character wise. Season 2 for me is stacked. Never played bison but he looks sick and I like charge characters, and ending with a third strike character is sick. Also 2 guest characters? Cmon
